Remember to keep it pre-Sonic Heroes.. don't want to offend the guy D:

XD

I wonder what his reaction would be if I asked him to sign a copy of Sonic '06. :P

But seriously, I'm planning on bringing my Japanese import cart of Sonic 1. What better to have Yuji Naka himself sign?

Hmm seems the policies of club Nokia prevent me from being of much service to you guys :(

11. Are there any prohibited items?

Items not allowed into Club NOKIA at LA Live! include but are not limited to:

Outside Food Or Beverage

Alcohol and Drugs

Chewing Gum

Large amounts of CD’s and Tee Shirts

Glass Bottles, Metal Cans, etc.

Fireworks, slingshots, laser pointers, flashlights, etc.

Professional camera equipment, tripods, etc. (with the exception of properly credentialed individuals)

Weapons, explosives, pepper spray, tear gas, etc.

Pocket knives or blades of any size or style.

No Animals (with the exception of service animals)

Water guns, toy replica weapons, squirt bottles, soap bubbles, etc.

Noise making devices, i.e. horns, cowbells, whistles (LAMC Sec. 41.57.)

Beach balls, Frisbees, balloons, brooms, skateboards, roller blades, skates, etc.

Any other item deemed inappropriate by Club NOKIA Management.

I'll see what I can do though, maybe I'll just use my phone for on-floor coverage, maybe they'll let me in with my dinky little camera too though. I'm used to taking things into events like this. :P

I have no idea what to take to have signed.. I don't want to carry along a backpack.. and all my MegaDrive games are back in Australia

.. once in a life time opportunity and I'm stuck >.<

Maybe a smaller plush.. *shrugs*

Didn't SEGA say on their blog that we can bring cameras.. that in fact they encourage it?

Professional camera equipment, tripods, etc. (with the exception of properly credentialed individuals) means stuff that would cause an obstruction, i.e. they don't want you setting up tripods and specialist equipment in there. Just having a comercial video camera and doing the rounds would be utterly no problem at all. It's almost the same clause thats found in the SOS terms and conditions, yet we're all taking cameras on the day.

I didn't get to go unfortunately, but one of my closest Sonic friends did. He tells me the event is absolutely amazing, there was enough booths to play Sonic Generations over and over again if you wanted, but they had a LOT of people there including a show from Crush40, he got something signed from Yuji Naka, he tells me there was a teaser that soon everyone will be able to play the Sonic Generations demo and guessing that's on Sonic's birthday the E3 demo will be available for everyone, and a lot of other stuff. They had contests, a lot of socializing, and he tells me he took a lot of videos he will post either tonight or tomorrow. I really wish I could go, he tells me the event was amazing. ;_;

EDIT: Apparently Izuka and Jun Senoue were there as well, and Jun even did a live performance of music that is going to be in Sonic 4: Episode 2. There was a dance-off to fireworks, there was a trail of rings that lead to the event, and more. Goddammit why did I have to miss it. ;_;

Whew, I'm exhausted! Sonic Boom was fun and very interesting.

I was able to get video of all the songs that were played. It is not perfect, but I'll put in a youtube link in this post when it is done uploading!

I'll put down some more thoughts of my events some other time, but it was great to see a lot of fans of Sonic gathered in one relatively tiny space!

Edit: Here is the link:

I hope all of you that were unable to attend enjoy it. There were many more people filming so I'm sure a much better video will come up. This is just to wet your appetite. There was a lot of energy for this song so I decided to put this one up first!

I just came back from the event and it was pretty amazing, now I know how all you people in the UK feel when you go to Summer of Sonic every year. ^^ Anyway I loved the Crush 40 performances and surprise remixes, along with the Needlemouse Live Musical. I was also able to play Sonic Generations a few and even in 3D (Though I didn't really like the game in 3D all that much, it looked weird and the controls were unresponsive. I also cosplayed at the event, though I wanted to enter the cosplaying contest but one of the staff memebers was being a jerk and didn't let me on stage since I arrived at the back stage doors a little late. <_< Oh well, at least I still got to shake hands with Aaron Webber and got my Sonic Generations shirt signed by Jun Senoue. :D

Just came back from the event, maybe the best night of my life.

I got my Sonic 3 cartridge signed by Yuji Naka, I was VERY lucky to spot him before the line gathered. I also got my Sonic Disc signed by Jun, Amazing.

Crush 40 was so awesome, I was holding back tears for a good portion of their performance and Juns piano performance. Sonic generations plays great, classic sonic feels so CLASSIC.

A simply amazing night.

Already almost feels like a dream.

Here's a video showing off the medleys before the Crush40 performance, included is the Generations versions of Classic and Modern Green Hill in their full forms.

Crush 40's Sonic Boom revision should be the Sonic Generations theme.

Seriously.

Goosebumps.

All over me.

Awesome cover, could of done with less of your friend shouting over half the chorus though : V (geeze it sounds like People really went to town on the open bar...)

Listened to all of them. I loved that they went back to a bunch of iconic songs (lol'd at Super Sonic Racing), but I think the excess autotune really killed some of them. City Escape sounds great until they bring in the really mechanical voice, but that's only for a few seconds anyway. These sound nice, but I personally would have far preferred for them to have left the autotune out.

I didn't mind the auto tune so much since it was more reliant on vocoding other effects than auto tuning, and it's not an inherently bad thing if you know how to do it right.

In the case of Super Sonic Racing, I was surprised how well they adapted that. Chorus reminded me a lot of Hold Your Colour-era Pendulum.

Sorry if I'm interrupting a conversation but...

Just came back from the event, I'm literally speechless. This was the greatest day of mah life. Ate about ten cupcakes. Played Sonic Generations until they kicked us out. Got promos and coasters. CRUSH 40 playing was a huge surprise for me. It's the fist time they have played outside Japan. The Needlemouse musical was just pure fan service. Got my sonic adventure signed by Yuji Naka and Jun Senoue. Really guys, this was literally summer of sonic USA.
