How long IS the dratted first level of Terminal Velocity? I've had this game since it came out and I STILL cannot finish the thing. HOW am I supposed to dodge lasers I can't see while dodging motobugs, and how long do I have to keep it up? (It actually took me three or four deaths to realize that I'm still being shot from somewhere; it seemed like Sonic was simply falling over dead when I knew the bugs hadn't hit him.)

Other than that (and three red rings), I've greatly enjoyed the game, but this level is ridiculous - I've probably spent a thousand lives on this level in the last 4 months.

It isn't much longer after that. I had a lot of trouble with that part too; if I recall correctly, what I did was not using my boost when the enemy first appears (so instead of his laser he would use short-range attacks that can be avoided by jumping), so that my boost gauge was full during the next part (with the lasers + motobugs). Then during the next part I held the boost button and I was going so far away from the enemy that his lasers couldn't even reach me. Something like that.

Thanks, Core, it worked! I had actually tried that a few times before, but apparently didn't wait long enough before boosting. Actually, now that I've finished the level, I realize that I died at the fringe of the terminal white out at least twice - I was THAT close to the end and didn't know it!

Three lives later, I've finished the game except for three red rings and the last Chaos Emerald. I really like that last boss.
