Hot on the heels of having another one of their previous rumors confirmed (literally), SEGA leaker @MbKKssTBhz5 (aka Midori) has revealed another on Twitter: SEGA All-Stars will be returning with an Apple Arcade-exclusive tennis game, developed by SEGA HARDlight. In a DM, Midori has confirmed to us that this is separate from the Sonic sports title they talked about back in January, which is also coming to Apple Arcade.

Check out ccreenshots of Midori's tweets below:

This would be the first All-Stars branded title since 2012's Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and yet another in a long list of Apple Arcade exclusive SEGA titles that has also included Chu Chu Rocket! Universe, Sonic Racing, Samba de Amigo Party-to-Go, Sonic Dream Team, and the just-announced Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop.

As for why Apple Arcade is getting so many SEGA games, the answer is simple: SEGA gets money, Apple gets games from a big publisher:

Midori has mentioned in the past that we can expect more SEGA mobile titles to be "exclusives" of some sort, particularly to Apple or Netflix. Provided this latest rumor is as reliable as previous ones, this would be a continuation of this trend.

Apple needs to chill before they make me get an iPhone.

Seems like SEGA made good friends! Sadly, my membership expired.

I'm really curious about how much money Apple is giving SEGA versus how much they would expect to make on console sales.  Or is it just that it's guaranteed money, up-front?  Apple Arcade must get a hell of a lot of use from people who aren't traditional gamers, because otherwise I never hear about it.

This is seeming more and more like an epic games exclusivity contract.

Bringing Sega games on Apple Arcade is actually not a bad idea for them to make on kinda reminds me of their own Akihabara building in Japan too have many Sega Arcade games, inside.
Maybe might be if Sega wants it capture arcade games actual they used to old good days from Japan deliver worldwide onto Apple Arcade would be exciting itself how it’ll turn pans out reputation Apple sales goes on them.

So am I the only one hoping this Tennis game and the Soccer ones are companion apps to a console Sonic & SEGA Sports game? Like Sonic Racing and Party to go on apple arcade.

Until SEGA ports ChuChu Rocket, I can't condone this type of release.

Making these types of exclusives is bad enough; it's been decades since a new Chu Chu Rocket, years since a new Puyo Puyo, and it's been a decade since the last Sega Allstars. Finally making sequels to them and locking them behind a single platform just sucks, but if the console landscape taught me anything, exclusives are a viable option, so I get it on some level, even though there's more than twice as many Android users and they're abandoning a massive user base, but, again, whatever floats their boat.

But Apple Arcade is a service where games come and go, and once they're gone, they're gone. Chu Chu Rocket released in 2019, got discontinued in 2022, and now you can't play it anymore. Three years old and you're unable to play it anymore Sure, Sonic will probably last longer, but the point still stands - it's basically one of the worst ways they could release these games.

So, thanks for this, Sega. I'm glad you get some lovely short term cash.
