Updated: SEGA Amusements Sonic Prime Plushies Revealed!

Spotted and reported originally by Badnik Mechanic, we have image of this year's EAG Expo, a trade show where all the amusement distributors come together to showcase their products and games to investors and vendors. At this show, they are featuring an all new Sonic Prime plush line!

Showcased in this small set of images are looks at an iteration of New Yoke Sonic, Nine, Rebel Rouge and Mr. Dr. Eggman.

What makes this toyline special is that it's not the same plush line as the Sonic Prime plushies we have seen previously...

These were the plushies we knew previously from manufacturer PMI, which look rather different to the big-headed toys mysteriously hanging on those shelves.

And this sole New Yoke City plush is the only one so far sold by master toy partner Jakks Pacific.

The question lies, then. Who made these plushes? Why, it's SEGA Amusements themselves in this reel video posted below!

This is a pretty historical milestone as this will be the first time SEGA internally created merchandise for a Sonic TV show since 2004 with the SEGAPrize! Sonic X UFO plush line, skipping the Boom merch rollout entirely.

What do you think this means for the future of tie-in Sonic media and their relationship with SEGA? Will we see more movie or even comic merchandise coming out of their Japanese subsidiaries? Or is Prime just a one-off endeavor?

Looks like the new plush are from SEGA Amusements! So they will likely be prizes for arcades.

Good eye! This will be the first time SEGA's own internal team is creating Prime merchandise! Will update the topic with the intel!
