Upcoming releases from Jakks Pacific promise some solid small-scale pulls from both Classic and Modern alike. As reported by Sonic Merch News, we have a new visual look at the next wave of 2.5 inch Sonic figures for both the mainline games, and Sonic Prime's Boscage Maze box set!

A bit of old, but some really funky new! Wave 16 of the mainline 2.5 inch line crashes onto the scene with reprints of the 2.5 Rouge and Ray. In addition, we have Sonic in a brand new "neutral" pose, with two open hands. The Vector is surreal to see, looking almost exactly like his 4 inch counterpart as if he was shrunk down to a 2.5 inch scale! One of the most impressive 2.5 inch figures yet!

But the real showstopper is the Caterkiller! Sure, you may ask at first... How does a lowly Badnik be more impressive than a 2.5 inch Vector? Okay, now, riddle me this. When was the last time a Caterkiller ever got an action figure? It was here, in 1994 with Tomy's Sonic & Knuckles set. Now, 30 years later, everyone's favorite spiked worm has returned to retail sets, perfect for army building your own Eggman Empire!

Moving from the world of the games into the Shatterverse, here's the first boxed look at the 2.5 box set for Sonic Prime, featuring the Boscage Maze!

For those not familiar with how Prime handles its 2.5 figure distribution, they are not released in single pack cards. Rather, they come packaged in a triple pack, each themed after one Shatterspace in particular. It also comes with a shard of the Paradox Prism and a themed display stand to hold it on. This offering welcomes you to the jungle with Boscage Maze Sonic, Gnarly Knuckles and Mangey Tails making his plastic debut!

Not sure how I feel about the Sonic Prime toy lines packing 2.5 size figures in playsets instead of their own packaging, but it does leave room for other figures to fill the shelves, so there's that.

And wow, I'm starting to think there are more Classic Sonic variants of figures then Modern Sonic...

I would love to see SEGA and Sonic Team release Sonic merchandise with their larger scale and robotic characters, like those from Mario Bros., I would definitely buy one of those.😍

Happy to see Mangey in that 2.5 Prime pack! Gnarly's a strange choice over Thorn or Prim, though.
