Games being developed for retro consoles is nothing new. The likes of the Dreamcast, PlayStation and NES all have strong homebrew communities. However, releasing physical cartridges is still quite rare. Mega Cat Studios are aiming to change that. Following the success of Game Boy game Kudzu, a new horror game for the Sega Genesis/Mega-Drive has been revealed.

More than this however, Sacred Line II has already been funded. In a staggering display of support from retro gaming enthusiasts, Mega Cat Studios and Sasha Darko announced that their Kickstarter campaign for the brand new Sega Genesis horror game had been fully funded within the first 24 hours of its launch.

Set as both a sequel and a prequel to the original Sacred Line Genesis, this new game offers a blend of mystery, exploration, and text-based dice combat. Sacred Line II chronicles the journey of Sarah. She’s a young girl with a troubled past. After a near-fatal encounter with a religious cult, she’s mysteriously brought back from the brink of death. Set against the backdrop of an alternate 1999 where Yugoslavia still exists, players will help Sarah navigate her surreal world to prevent its imminent downfall.

It's nice to see a new Sega Genesis/Mega-Drive game still being made which Is rare nowadays. I hope it does well.
