I hope this means we see more of the actual Sonic cast and much less of the human cast in this film (Looking at you Sonic 2!).

Huh, wonder how that's gonna shake out for them with the SFX and VFX artists goin on strike now.

^ You don't particularly need them for filming either. All you need is the film crew, the director, and the list of scenes that would only contain CGI characters.

Then you can try to make some kind of productive use of all this strike downtime to capture location and vista filming for those particular scenes. It does let the VFX team hit the ground running whenever they get to work - which would in theory - lesson any potential delay as a result of time missed

EDIT

shots like this one for movie 2.

Good news. That means they do special effects stuff first, that will help to save time later on when the strikes are over (good luck SAG-AFTRA & WGA). Looking forward to the first set pics.

Would never have even needed to worry about this as much if they made this animated instead. That way they'd only need to worry about voice actors.

Tho, they're probably part of the strike too.

Edit: Hey, be unimpressed all you want. I’ll forever say that the Sonic movies should’ve been animated. 😝

This sounds good, if they are only doing the special effects and the animation.  Hopefully, once the strike ends, all they would have to do is just have the actors record their voices for the CGI characters and film the human characters and the movie should be finished by next year.

It probably would have ended up the same way, even if these movies were fully animated, because there's still the matter of the voice actors and some of the voice actors are on strike too.

Hoping for a shot of Jim Carrey on set to prove he'll be back one more time! :eggsmug:

I wonder if Jim Carrey is coming back or not.  I was surprised he showed up in the second movie, since he's known for not doing many sequels.

Same here, but we have to wait after the strike to hopefully see that.
