This topic was good and got turned into SEGA and Audi Are Selling This One-of-a-Kind Sonic Frontiers Racing Car at some point.

The age-old tradition of Sonic the Hedgehog game promotional cars has come back with a vengeance this year, as SEGA Japan revealed this customised Audi R8 Coupe V10 - and it's going to go on sale later this year for some $300k USD.

Reported by 4Gamer (via Siliconera), the custom vehicle was created by world-class racing team Hitotsuyama Racing and features a special livery with a unique number of '11.8'. That happens to be the release date of Sonic Frontiers, for those of you not paying attention.

The regular Audi R8 Coupe V10 usually goes on sale for around $215,800 - but while the price for this special car hasn't been announced yet, it's likely that there will be a premium on the cost given the 'Sonic-ness' of it all. The manufacturer will take this model - the only one of its kind - on sale in November 2022.

Just the latest in a long line of collaborations SEGA is launching to promote Sonic Frontiers in Japan and around the world. No doubt there will be many more to come as we approach the game's release in a few weeks' time.

If they did that it wouldn’t be an Audi anymore. Audi’s rings are copyrighted as being silver, it’s part of their brand.

It’s a good idea though.
