In collaboration with Funko and Universal Games and Digital Platforms, Funko Fusion is the first game from 10:10 Games, a studio founded by former members of TT Games

WARRINGTON, ENGLAND – April 25, 2023 – Get ready, pop culture fans! 10:10 Games, in collaboration with Funko, LLC and Universal Games and Digital Platforms, is sharing the first teaser trailer for its upcoming multiplayer mashup Funko Fusion. Iconic characters from Jurassic World, Back to the Future, The Umbrella Academy, The Thing, Child’s Play 2, Masters of the Universe, and other blockbusters come to life in Funko Pop! form in this wild new take on action-adventure games.

“It’s incredibly exciting to be able to show everyone what the team here at 10:10 Games has been up to," says Arthur Parsons, 10:10 Games' Design Director and Co-founder. "Harnessing the incredible properties we've been entrusted with by our partners at Universal Games and Digital Platforms, bringing them together into a gaming experience that is incredibly fun, surprising, authentic, and celebrates fandom like never before, all experienced through a Funko lens."

“Funko is a leader in bringing characters to life through POP! and other unique product types, but Funko Fusion takes things to a whole new level and gives our fans the ability to interact with their favorite characters like never before,” says Dolly Ahluwalia, Funko's SVP of Licensing and Emerging Brands. “Working with Universal Games and Digital Platforms on this project was a dream of ours, as their IP is like none other, with characters that appeal to all ages. This trailer is a taste of what folks can expect, and we couldn’t be more excited to work with our partner 10:10 Games toward an expected initial release in early 2024.”

“Funko Fusion offers a diverse collection of NBCUniversal characters that will immerse players in an experience that stays true to Funko’s DNA,” said Jim Molinets, SVP of Production, Universal Games and Digital Platforms. “Featuring a fresh take on the mash-up genre, the game will connect fans with some of their favorite brands and key story moments in remarkable ways.”

Funko Fusion features dozens of playable characters in Funko Pop! form from popular NBCUniversal stories, in addition to other properties, each with their own unique personalities and abilities. Online multiplayer adds even more chaos to the mix, allowing up to four players to team up and battle enemies, explore vast environments, and solve intriguing puzzles.

Funko Fusion is the debut title from 10:10 Games, a studio co-founded by five-time BAFTA award winner and TT Games founder Jon Burton and a team of experienced developers known for their work on brick-based games. Funko Fusion is currently expected to be released in 2024 on PC and console.

No confirmed platforms, but I can only assume it'll come to every current console (Switch, PS5, Xbox)

This seems like an interesting project, and I can only assume we'll see more soon?

Honestly, I don't think I've ever watched a trailer which let me with more questions about it than before watching.

The idea of a Funko game just sounds, and seems weird.

The idea of a cross-over game with Funko IPs sounds awesome, but I believe this is just exclusive to Universal? I think Back to the Future is the only IP I can say I'm a fan, and maybe I can say I've some familiarity with Jurassic World.

And well, why not make it like a normal game when you can do it with Funkos, I guess?

But yeah, I still don't really understand the need to mix Funko with this, and maybe if it included other Funkos series, then it could catch my attention (Sonic, Star Wars, etc.).

I need to say the graphic and detail looks awesome, tho.

Even though you mentioned, I also think it's interesting to mention Jon Burton (Sonic 3D Blast, Sonic R) is involved with this.

Still, I'm rather confused about this game, maybe I didn't get the actual point of it.

That's a very Interesting 🤔 project Indeed and the concept to It as well. I have never seen anything like this before and like the Idea of this game and the design of the game as well.

I'm going to keep a eye on this how It develops and updates to.

Actually, in concept... this is basically the same crossover-IP idea as Lego Dimensions, but using the Funko branding instead from the looks of it. Considering it's by former members of the same dev team that made the Lego games this also makes sense that they'd translate and iterate across.

The only criticism I have is that I'm not a fan of Funko. Don't get me wrong, they have a unique design to their models... but Funko's also all look the same to me because of it. Often is the case that  I can't tell who the pop-culture character is that it's trying to emulate (unless it's still in the box).

Sounds like an interesting concept, but honestly not a massive fan of the properties mentioned. I'll keep an eye on this in case something catches my attention.
