Hopefully future skins will give you a bit more option, but my only advice for now would be to turn down the brightness of your monitor or adjust it accordingly if it has the functionality.

Sonical wasn't designed to blind people, which I always find to be an odd comment whenever this skin reemerges. But it'll happen, to each their own.

Yes the brithness of the screen, imo, could be the only reason why it would hurt for some people.

Tho I think that the previous white skin board was more of a pain for the eyes when your in the dark and trying to read....

I'm glad the blue checkered form is brought back and not leaving. More options for more designs I don't mind, as long as I can have this one as default.

I think it's the white text against the dark background. Other sites with a similar theme make my eyes go blah.

May I suggest the firefox extension Greasemonkey and a couple CSS tweaks?

JD! (and other people)'s eye behaviour is not surprising.

Since the eyes are exposed to/primarily notice the darker colours of the background, the iris lets more light enter the retina. The white light of the text is then too much to handle.

All I can say is bear with this for a little if you cannot be bothered with greasemonkey. The other skins are on their way, I'm sure. ^^;

With regards to the order we had determined for remaking our older skins (the one Dreadknux mentioned isn't actually one of those - wait and see!) reading the comments in this topic is making me wonder if that's the correct order to have them in. We'll see, but I can't recall ever having that many bright(er) skins on the forums..

To be fair, as awesome as the blue one is, it was always the one skin that one or two people complained about for 'being too blue'. :3 I don't think anyone's had similar comments about any of our other skins, so Chris we're good to go for the order that we/you originally planned. :]

Looks nice, but for some reason I much prefer the white/grey background, I dunno why exactly because it was pretty plain, but it just seems lighter colours put me in a better mood and makes me wanna post more, darker forums just seem dull to me and darkens my mood... but hey, I always think differently to everyone else. XD Maybe I just need to get used to it. Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing what the other new skins will be like! (hopefully a bit brighter XD)

From what I can tell img tags are causing a space, sommot in the CSS meaning that [!img] = <img src"HTTP" border="0">_ where _ means a tab indent?

It's not a huge difference and from the old sonical design, but it'll do I guess. The bright colours before were burning my eyes so that's a plus.
