My favourite part was when Aaron's fanboyism was overridden by Sonic Team's fanboyism.

So just watched the whole thing. Highlights:

- Naka didn't know where his seat was and played it off adorably. Pollock came out wearing a shiny-ass purple disco shirt, and also cheered wildly for Keys when no one else did.

- When Aaron held a poll for best classic Sonic design, Iizuka stealth voted for the EU/JP design, and Naka took a picture of the one-sided voting for posterity.

- We now know that Iizuka is responsible for animating the scene where Knuckles punches Sonic out of his super state. Forever redeemed.

- Segata Sanshiro shout-out.

- Audience support for SA1 and Adventure design. Just makes me feel good. |3

- People REALLY want Chao back!

- "Sonic Heroes featured a cameo by Big The Caaaaaaaaahaaaotix! Yep, the Chaotix!" -- Aaron

- Mistake was caught: Aaron said Pollock voiced Black Doom in ShtH, however Sean Schemmel (Goku) has been credited for that for years. Shenanigans are afoot.

- They deliberately skipped over Sonic 06 by saying Sonic Rivals released in 2006. Fucking died.

- Smith was credited for his narration in "Say Yes To The Dress" and Pollock out of nowhere was like "I LOVE THAT SHOW!!!"

- Only time Smith and Pollock got together for voicing on Boom was a workshop session; apparently was fun.

- 2015 was dubbed "The Year of Memes." Apparently they also won an award for the Shia LaBeouf video they posted.

- Fire and Ice is releasing Sept. 27, 2016. Just nice to see this not confirmed to be dead.

- The numbers, Big teases, Madeon tease, and all of this shit actually has meaning. Who knew? It led to the July 22, 2016 date, which is the Sonic 25th Anniversary event. He didn't promise a game announcement there either, but apparently it will be a fun party.

 

All in all, it was a fun little run through of Sonic's history with good people. We learned a few new things, know that Fire and Ice is not dead, and Sega's hosting a big bash. Generally nice things. Nothing hype, but I didn't go in expecting that.

So I missed a good deal of it, but from what people are telling me on Skype, it really wasn't much anyway.  Fire & Ice release date (assuming it doesn't get delayed again) and the explanation for the numbers was... well, less than satisfying.

Another Sonic event is going to be hosted on July 22 at the House of Blues in LA and is going to have Crush40 and maybe other guests.  Maybe an announcement for something of interest will be made then?

Twas a fun stream, I didn't have much expectations but at the very least we know there's something going on in July. It was pretty cool how all of these major players of Sonic got together in one place.

It was just so nice to see Naka, Iizuka, Pollock, Smith and Webber all in the same room! And a nice but bumpy (and hilarious) roadtrip through memory lane! Webber was just perfect all the way through, he's just so lovable and savage at the same time! Love ya @RubyEclipse!

Really sucks that they only had 45 minutes, I wished it lasted longer. Oh yeah, we got a teaser for Big's Big Fishing Adventure 3, hopefully directed by @Roger_van_der_weide.

But yeah, glad to see a release date for F&I and will pick it up on the first day

Yeah, that's really my only complaint. The event felt at least a half hour too short. For what we got, though, I had a good time.

I'll be honest, I just can't buy that they're holding off on a game announcement until near the end of July. If they do that then it either means:

• They're pulling a 10 Cloverfield Lane and springing the announcement as late in the game as they can for the sake of surprise.
• The next main game isn't coming this year.

Neither of those really seem like options they'd take unless they're being brutal with the "improved quality" thing and the anniversary game really wasn't up to scratch.

I'd say wait and see what this April 1st thing is first. For an anniversary year, a pretty big one at that, I'll be really surprised if we haven't found out by the time E3 has come and gone.

No new console game for the Sega side of games is gonna make this the absolute bunkiest anniversary, which is why I'm hoping that something will come sooner or later. At least 2006 had a cake, even if the cake exploded. But you can talk about the exploding cake. You can say you were there for something epic and look back on it like "Man, that cake fucking exploded." All you can do with a party where there's no cake at all is just be sad, because what's a party without cake?

Hey there. So, some of you may have noticed that there were a bunch of Webdings characters on the top of the screen during the Big the Cat cameo screenshot from Sonic Adventure 2's intro. Well, I translated them.

They become "May the best dance in the Juno bridal" which is... A reference to this. It's a line from Luv(sic) Part 4.

I have no idea why they're referencing this but I figured people wanted to know.
