Unannouncend Pikachu Game in the works: Pikachu - 1998-2013

Tails spin

Recommended Posts

Sounds like it'll be a quirky spin off, which could go a million different ways.

Maybe it's Hey You, Pikachu! 2 :V

Playfulness as a weapon?

Whom does he think he is, Dr. Eggman?

Who wants to bet the "big change" is making him fat and mouse-ish again. :v

I had the exact opposite thought :P My first thought wasa pikachu wii fit-esque dieting game where you need to get fat pikachu slimmed down to his current incarnation.

.......I would totally buy that

Playfulness as a weapon?

...

...

Okay.  Just.  Okay. @3@  That just throws all my ideas out the window, although I must have been somewhat right about the "straying from the normal Pokémon flair in terms of tone, story, and gameplay elements" bit.

Maybe it's Hey You, Pikachu! 2 :V

Is it bad for me to say that if they fixed the mic functionality then I would want this?  Yes, it is, and I'm a terrible person.  I'm sorry.  I'll go sit in the corner and cry while I think about what I've done.

Something that will change Pikachu as we know it, eh?

*crosses fingers for Grand Theft Auto V version with Pikachu download*

In the next game Pikachu will be voiced by Trevor's VA.

*Punches someone in the face* "Pika pika you fucking idiot!!!! >:U"

I honestly think they're going to give him a sword.

NO IDEA WHY

But mark my words. We're getting Pikachu and the Black Chesnaught.

Siliconera's report on the news is actually somewhat interesting, because they imply that what he actually said was that his worries are less to do with what they're changing and more to do with the quality of the game.

Honestly, you know what would really change things up? Make a Pokemon game set decades or even hundreds of years before the 'main' titles, before the Pokemon League and even stuff like Pokeballs, see what the world was like back then.

Like this? :P

(Sorry, I just really like Conquest)

I can't be the only one hoping for a Yellow remake?

...I'll be over here.

Don't worry, you're not.  Because that would be too awesome for words.  But chances are with FireRed/Leafgreen still being easily accessible, they wouldn't bother with another Kanto remake.

Yes, but this would be a Kanto remake in as 3D as is possible right now.

Then again, if they crack the formula to allow for Colosseum/Gale of Darkness style 3D in the next Generation, I'd rather wait.

But still... this is interesting.

Well count me in as someone who'd like that, but like Akito said it isn't likely considering FireRed and LeafGreen.

...Maybe the third version of Gen 6 will be a Yellow successor? Featuring Pikachu and the return of the Following Pokemon feature (not just Pikachu, hopefully)?...Naah.

I'd say this

main.png

is pretty damn mouse-y. I mean what, make him eat electric cheese or be chased by Meowth with a hammer around the house?

Talking of Pikachu and Meowth, it's opposite what we expect in the anime.

Instead of cat eats mouse, it's mouse beats cat.

I don't think he could ruin Pikachu's popularity with just one game, I mean Sonic 06 didn't ruin the Sonic Franchise.

Using playfulness as a weapon? How does that even work? Does he name his gun "Playfulness" or something?

I mean what, make him eat electric cheese or be chased by Meowth with a hammer around the house?

Then I would understand why it would ruin Pikachu's popularity.......

Meowth is infinitely more interesting and lovable than Pikachu's yellow ass will ever be.

So while he beats him in the show, he'll never beat him in my heart.

Amen brother.

I've always loved Pikachu, sure, but Meowth is so much more fun.

Anyways, I'm interested to see what's being changed so drastically that it could effect the popularity of the global icon that is Pikachu.

For some reason I'm imagining another Pokémon Channel game. I always thought that game was adorable. Or Hey You, Pikachu?

If Pikachu gets a Mega Evolution, I think they could just make him more like he was on Pokémon Yellow cartridge: nintendo-gameboy-pokemon-yellow-cartridg

I mean, all the mega evolutions seems to be angrier versions of these Pokémons.
