Pretty much the majority of what Chao can do in the Adventure games is adorable.

 

-sigh-  I miss those little bastards.  There's something satisfying about breeding for a rare color and making your little, ice-cream topped baby into an Olympic-champion.  It's crazy how deep the Chao Gardens were, especially since they were just Pokemon-lite at face value.

Cream and Cheese in Sonic X is adorable. Say what you will about Sonic X, they were done well in my opinion. Seriously Cream and Cheese from Sonic X are cute.

Adding onto the Classic Sonic and Tails thing from the last page, the opening to Classic's variant of the Seaside Hill cutscene where they both do a little bro-fist is way up there on the cutest moments:

Seeing even little brotherly moments like that in Generations just really warms me up. After all those years of Sonic and Tails never stopping to do anything silly with each other, it was great to see that they at least showed it going on as early as Sonic 1 in the canon rather than just only doing the hero and sidekick thing up until recently. Makes you imagine how silly they'd be in the likes of Casino Night with the gameplay set aside, 'ya know?

I already expressed myself elsewhere about it, but I want to expand here my thoughts.

 

I was disappointed at first, but after rewatching and re-thinking, I can say the final part of Lost World, even in its rushness, is really really adorable.

 

First, when Tails reveals he's not a mindless slave and yells that he will

NEVER! destroy Sonic before shooting at the Zetis.

The joyfulness in Sonic, as he says "good to have you back, Tails!" and brofists with him, is clear as daylight.

And the little gesture of encouragement Tails does with his fist, as Sonic has already ran off to chase the Zetis... I like to think it's Tails' way to say "it's good to have you back, Sonic".

 

Then, after the final boss...

When Tails says "You know you didn't need Eggman, right? I could have turned this off myself", I think he doesn't mean "See, Sonic? I was right and you were wrong, yadda yadda" (in fact the Extractor was already turned off by Eggman, thus it deprived Tails the chance to demonstrate he could do it as well) but instead he just wants to be assured that Sonic does trust him again.

Anyway, as Sonic apologizes Tails quickly forgives him with a simple "it's cool" and a smile, without adding even more salt in the wound.

 

Maybe he was really poorly written at the beginning of the game, but in the two scenes I've described I really saw the Tails I always knew and loved.

 

Conversely, speaking of things that are just cute for the eye,

 

isn't Robo!Tails one of the most adorable badasses in town?

I honestly think Shadow's expressions look positively unhinged in ASRT. Heh, I even made an edit to get this across some time back

 

 

But cute moments?

 

Classic Sonic continually made me go "D'awww" in Generations. He was impressed by his Modern self's abilities in such an adorable way especially when he gives a twirl and a thumbs up.

Like many said, how Classic Sonic would always be so happy when he gets a high rank in Generations.

 

Classic Tails is just so adorable in Generations. I just want to hug him.

 

Whenever Chip offered chocolate to someone

 

The fact that Dr. Eggman has a soft spot for chao.

 

Sonic and Tails' brotherly bond. Whether it's in the games, Archie comics or AoSTH, their relationship always brought a smile to my face.

 

When Knuckles teleport Sonic/ Tails to Sky Sanctuary: if you go and check up on him, he would gesture that he's fine and that you must stop Eggman.

 

After collecting the Chaos and Super Emeralds and beat the game as Knux, he would grin at Sonic and give him a thumbs up. Aww.

Also classic Tails, as he actually appeared in the Japanese official art is in my opinion THE cutest design in the Sonic series. Even if the sidemouth looks a bit weird sometimes.

I always personally found Sonic X's first ending Mi-Ra-I to be cute.

 

 

Sonic is watching the escapades of the episode after having pizza with the others who have fallen asleep. They obviously go up to bed whilst he sits there watching himself on TV, eventually getting bored and throwing the controller on the table. Ella catches him and points out that he should not be sitting too close to the TV because of the risk of eye strain and Sonic is all...
