spent like 43 minutes on one of the rooftop run night stages. that was the turning point when i changed my opinion about the game to "not good"

It was definitely for me one of the ARK levels in Shadow the Hedgehog, I believe it was the one with the Artificial Chaos.

And multiple Werehog levels.

On the Dreamcast- Sonic Adventure 2- Crazy Gadget- Hated this level soo much- Let's just say if I added all the hours together it would probably add up to a full fortnight. (though at points I got so sick of it I left if for 3 months)

Night stages in Unleashed were bad for me not because of the gameplay, but because of how long the levels were.

It's like they gave Werehog a map the size of a daytime level at his speed, which is dramatically dropped. I know it's less, but in terms of Sonic's speed, half a daytime stage is still huge for non-speedsters.

Eggmanland I remember taking 70 minutes in the first time, because my install was bad and some level stuff was invisible, and I kept falling through the floor as the Werehog...

BUT

99:99.99, in City Escape biggrin.png I was playing Sonic Adventure 2, I think trying to find the lost chao, then paused to go do something. So my mom comes in and plays a bit, then I thought she turned the Dreamcast off (And I hadn't checked.), and she NEVER pauses games (it's annoying), so Sonic was idling there for a few IRL days xD

I also remember taking around 17 minutes for Cannon's core in Sa2. o: And I don't want to remember the night levels in Sonic Unleashed, so yeah.

I'm probably known for spending ages on some stages in the later Sonic games - I bet I was the pinball tables in Casino Park for a while.

My most memorable fail though was in Red Mountain from SA1 - I was in there for over half and hour searching for the last emerald shard. And then the next time I played the level, I beat it in about 3 minutes. This is what you get for random placement :P

I've spent quite a load of time on Green Hills Zone listening to the amazing music :P It made me so happy that I managed to get to the stage.

...It's a pity I wasn't destined to get past it in spite of having a few continues.

God knows how long it took me to get through aquatic base with all 3 hedgehogs. And the broken gameplay did not help at all.

Probably that Hang Castle mission for the Chaotix Team in Heroes. I was like 8 when I did it though, and don't remember it too well. My god that section of the game sucked ass...

The longest levels for me in the franchise we're bigs fishing levels when I was a kid I didn't know how to get him it tool me 30 mins I remember and than those b and a missions took forever!!!!

Pumpkin Hill my first time I distinctly remember taking 30 mins prob cuz I had a lot of fun just exploring.

Crazy gadget and final egg were long my first time.

Power plant from sonic heroes and the bingo stages I remember being the longest in the game but when I beat sonic hereow for the first time, I was older and a lot better and beat them all in 15 mins or less. The shaodw hero dark mission of doom and lost impact took almost 40 mins christ. The silver levels in sonic 06 im not joking took 20-30 mins. Than the werehog stages took me the longest out of all of them. Cannons core when I was a kid took me the second longest I remember out of any sonic game and than ofc eggman land. Was the longest and hardest.

I feel like it's got to be Eggmanland in Unleashed, no questions asked. The stage is not only ABSURDLY long, but also filled to the brim with trial and error stuff like instant death crushers and bottomless pits. The stage takes around 10-13 minutes, or less if you're really good at it. Most Sonic stages aren't even long enough to compare. I guess the Knuckles/Rouge Treasure Hunting stages is the main other answer I have, but I can't recall how long they took for me the first time I played them.

I was about to say, "damn nobody's gonna bring up the nightmare that was Crazy Gadget"? I spent weeks on that stage --- and 99 lives. Cleared the damn thing on my last life. No I don't care I got an E.
