Wait, so are you taking a dreamcast model and trying to rig it over on Sonic's Generations model?

Other then the Unleashed and Colors models I didn't think that method worked on older sonic models, in that theory you should be able to get any sonic model working.

Release this Shuffle Sonic when your done with the rigging, we'd like to take a look.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this but I just spent like 32 Canadian dollars on Sonic Generations for Steam yet when I try and start it the message comes up that "The program can't start because MSVCP100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I've searched online and downloaded things called "MSVCP100.dll" but it doesn't work! Please HELP!!!!!

When did you buy your computer? And do still have the paperwork? That should give you a run-down on your system specs.

The real issue here is not getting the Hits Collection.

IIRC, it's a redistributable error. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555 Download and run this, you should be golden. Although Steam's first time run/set up thing should cover this for you, did you skip it?

It's a Dell Studio XPS 8100, that's all I know.

Do yourself a solid and download this and keep it forever:

http://filehippo.com/download_everest_home

Its called EVEREST Home Edition. it allows you to give you a full system spec rundown, its a very useful tool even if its old.

Install it, once you've booted it up go to Report > Quick Report > plain text. once its done scanning hit "save to file" and save it to your desktop. then copy everything in the text document and post it here under spoiler tags.

EDIT: of course if you still have this problem, otherwise just keep the tool anyways.

Thanks guys I've got in working, but it's extremely laggy, is there ANY way to make it run acceptably on my crappy PC?

Why not try out a 7 day trail of Onlive? You can play your Steam copy of Generations when you sync your Steam Account with your Onlive account. It's the best choice for a PC that can't handle such graphics.

Turn down the resolution, which I think is the only option for graphical fidelity on Gens. Alternatively, get a better PC.

So this is a thing that started development.

This is obviously going to play quite shaky but it's still cool to see.

Yeah I'm not expecting SLW level gameplay for at least a year, while the Unleashed project went crazy fast SLW is a whole 'nother beast. but its good to see R&D finally starting.

I know this thread is aimed at discussion of the PC version...

...but, can anyone here tell me exactly what DLC came with the collector's edition of Sonic Generations for PS3? I got the 360 version - but that had avatar content and a 360 theme as well as the Casino Nights DLC - just wondered if the PS3 version got equivalent stuff or not.

Thanks.

The PS3 version only got the Casino Night DLC IIRC. That's all the DLC there was for the game, and then some avatar content for the 360 (including a Classic Amy outfit that hardly even got distributed).

Current status on Dude's Sonic Adventure Generations mod project:

Lanzer asked me to sound off on what's going on with my project. The answer is simple - I'm waiting for better tools. The current development pipeline is painful to iterate/prototype with, and the lightmapping never works right. Since I also have a full time job now, I don't have time for slow development.

That's really interesting. Although I wonder why it took people so long to port SLW stages to Generations.

...Well, no need to answer this question, I guess. I doubt modders would be able to port SLW's physics to Generations, that would be absurd.

I just built my first gaming PC that can play most current games (needs a strong graphics card, but I'll replace that soon). I LOVE playing Generations at 60+FPS, but that Unleashed project is INCREDIBLE! I've never played the levels running this smoothly and fast before. Also, kudos to the guy who made the menu music and kept it in theme to the Generations music in that slow, violin style.
