You seem to be 6 years behind on Shadow's recent character, dude. I suggest you keep up, because that is not true.

Between Rivals and Free Riders I'm seeing Shadow as just doing stuff for the purpose of killing time, aside from the times he doing what GUN tells him to do. Don't understand why he's suddenly working for GUN in the first place, that was never explained.

As I mentioned before, a story focusing on Knuckles and his past would be good time to bring back, for everyone clamoring that there's no reason to bring her back. Given how she left and hasn't reappeared since, it's the only way to bring her back proper. I just dislike the viewpoint that she's dead period and that there's no possibility what so ever that she can come back.
