  • Sonic Superstars is Out Now

    SEGA’s 2D Classic Sonic game, Sonic Superstars, is now out and available on all platforms, including Playstation, Xbox, Switch, and the PC storefronts Steam and Epic! Be sure to download patch 1.05 before you play, which appears to be some sort of day one stability update. The game is developed by Arzest, a company founded by Sonic co-creator Naoto Ohshima.

    UPDATE: There's a launch trailer. While you can watch it below, we would like to warn you that it contains late game spoilers, the sort we've been avoiding posting ourselves.

    Well now, that was a well put together trailer. If any piece of media was enough to convince me of a purchase this would be it. 

    However, as a Sonic fan they already had me preordering at the announcement trailer.

    I pre-ordered the game well over a week ago with a shipping forecast of release date delivery, confident that I would be able to play it reasonably promptly.  I've had no dispatch notice and just checked the site I ordered from to find that they had put their release date back to... December.

    Edit: The power of writing to support!  My copy has now dispatched.

    Edit Again: And in the end, it was only two days late, rather than two months.  I think I can live with this.

    Well, if Mania was forced into Forces, that I guess the same could happen to Superstars and Frontiers...

    As for the game, I'll wait for a sale, since my money went to Spider-man 2 (and a PS5!) this month.
