  • IDW Reveals 2023 Sonic the Hedgehog Halloween Special

    One shot will feature a candy-stealing monster mystery.

    Ahead of the publisher's SDCC 2023 panel, IDW has announced that it will be releasing a Halloween-themed Sonic the Hedgehog one-shot comic, featuring a spooky mystery that can only be solved by the Chaotix Detective Agency.

    The full solicitation can be found below, via PRH, but only one cover has been released so far - the Retail Incentive (10) by Nathalie Fourdraine. We do know that the other covers will be crafted by Jack Lawrence (Cover A), Gigi Dutreix (Cover B) and Jamal Peppers (Cover RI [25]).

    Check out the synopsis below, and get ready for a haunting adventure when the comic arrives - it's due to hit store shelves on 11 October 2023.

    That looks awesome love the cover again from Nathalie Fourdraine and the Halloween Special Is going to be fun to read. I love these one shot specials from IDW.

    Yeah, by this point, I’m pretty convinced IDW is relying on Sonic stuff to keep them afloat after that earnings call earlier in the year. There’s a lot of special issues and one shots being dropped this year.

    Not complaining, of course, the story sounds fun and it’s always cool to see the Chaotix go on a detective romp. Just think it’s worth noting why we’re getting so many of these.
