Well, the level list for Sonic Generations was leaked. I ain't gonna spoil it, but while I personally think it's great, it HAS left out a lot of great level songs from the Sonic franchise. So, my pal incredible AlexLP and I have banded together to make a series of songs, in the Generations style (3 songs each: one 16-bit/techno/classic style, one rock-style modern mix, and a boosting version of the modern mix) for 7 tracks in the Sonic universe. He's handling the midi work and the keyboards, as well as a lot of the mixing, while I'm guitars, additional bass, and general composition of each track. Here's the list so far:

-Palmtree Panic (Sonic CD)

-Aquatic Ruin (Sonic 2)

-Lava Reef (Sonic and Knuckles)

-Windy Valley (Sonic Adventure)

-Sunset Park (Triple Trouble)

-Casino Paradise (Sonic Advance)

-Chaos Angel (Sonic Advance 3)

Once more tracks become available, I'll post links to the songs. But for now, here's a preview of the modern mix for Palmtree Panic. Feedback is greatly appreciated!

Also, any other songs you'd like to hear remade in this style! We're open to requests tongue.gif

Well, it might be coming back! this is a big "might", but I've just stumbled upon a program that'll let me use my computer keyboard as a musical keyboard, and it's chocked FULL of sound presets! I did

Great selection of songs, the final product should be very awesome.

Since you're open to suggestions though, I'd love to hear Metal Harbor since that stage has AMAZING music and even though it's from a GG title, Sunset Park would brilliant. It's gonna be great no matter what you do though!

I agree with BD3 on this though- I'd LOVE to hear you guys do a cover of Metal Harbor.

Glad you guys like it :P Once we're done with the modern mix, Alex is gonna do a classic mix, in the style of the 16-bit techno tracks Classic Sonic's getting, hope you guys dig it :D

I'm honestly not to sure. I don't wanna overload either Alex or myself at the moment. However, once the main list of songs are done, we'll see if we're willing to do anymore ;)

The preview its pretty cool, great job.

As for the list, its a good list so far. A have a request I don't have a song in mind, but there are many good sonic songs that are not famous. I would like to hear some of those good, but forgotten, songs.

Alright, some good news and bad news, guys. The Modern mixes are progressing really well; Palmtree Panic is wrapping up, it just needs to be mixed, and a boosting version should follow soon. Lava Reef is the next one up :D Alex has been doing an epic job so far, he's a powerhouse! Please remember though, we're not following any sort of schedule; music will come when it's finished, though we're obviously hoping to get these all done by October.

However, Alex and I dunno how we can handle the Classic mixes; it's a lot of work, plus we dunno if we have the proper means, and I REALLY don't wanna overwork my friend, after all he's doing. Essentially, we're asking if anyone would be willing to help us make the classic mixes? It'd be greatly appreciated, and it'd be a great chance to be a part of this project :D

Well, I can't give you guys an update on the project because Alex suddenly isn't responding to any of my messages.

I'm so freaking frustrated, any time I try to get a project going it just stops working somehow. What the fuck.

I'm pretty discouraged at this point.. but hey, if anyone knows any solid, user-friendly music-making programs I could look into, I'm all ears.

Palmtree Panic! Alex did a load of the work though, he deserves most of the credit, as I stated in the description of the vid. Still, it sucks that he vanished. I dunno if I should pick up this project or not, nor do I know where to look for help.

Thanks a ton you guys! I appreciate the support. I'm looking to possibly get some programs that'll allow me to make my own remixes fully in the future, and I also might look into asking some other remixers if they might wanna do a collab with me. Sadly, this project is toast unless Alex gets back to me, but I ain't gonna stop working!

Another fan of the remix, reporting in!

I really like the fact that you kept the "Whoo!" from the original, since I always loved that part. The only thing this track is missing now is a random group of kids yelling "Yaaaay!", haha. ;p Anyway, keep up the great work, and I hope your friend continues this project with you. Not to mention, the thought of a modernized mix of "Windy Hill" sounds extremely wonderful. I barely ever see that track mentioned, sadly...

I did a little mock-up demo of Sky Sanctuary with it :P Plus I'm looking to get EZ Drummer and Guitar Rig, so... we'll see what happens :P
