How about a sonic game similar to that new psn ratchet and clank game? Ditching the boost and changing the gameplay for that one game. making it focused on having fun and playing with others and working with them if you want to get faster times on levels or find secret areas.(although you wouldn't have to play with others to beat it). it could have a little story and online. The playable characters could be Sonic, tails, knuckles, amy, eggman, metal sonic, silver and shadow(maybe omega and blaze. maybe)

Or like i said before a comic jumper or spiderman shattered dimensions style kind of game. Going through different universes (like anime, cavemen, future, dark, superhero and others)Depending on the universe would kind of change sonic's Look and style of gameplay while keeping his sense of speed.(Like for example future dimension would focus on sonic's hover shoes and he could run up buildings to the side s of them. The level would look bright and colorful and futuristic. the boost could return as a power up for the whole game.)I also had a idea for a funny extra cut scene. Sonic accidently goes into our universe and is played by a dude dressed up in a sonic costume(like the one at sonic boom) along with tails and knuckles. There by a game store.

"Tails where are we the people here look SO UGLY! "

"apparently this is a universe where we are a video game. The humans looking like this i'm also baffled by."Sonic looks at the game store.

"Wow all our adventures video games! We probably sell tons of copies all the time. were probably a hit! that pose on that box of me is just so good lookin'!"

Knuckles "tails get us out of here before sonic completely goes big headed."

"Right"

"wait i wanna buy some of these games!"

They get transported back home.

If you think about it, Sonic Generations is basically this with a little time traveling. I mean.... GHZ, Chemical plant. Seaside hill, City escape. All from different areas, time periods and blah blah blah. And if you really want to go there, go back to Sonic 1 and too. The random-ness of those stages were....well random. (forgot what the 1st level of Sonic 2 was), Chemical plant, a casino themed level, something to do with ruins and water, then under ground/mines? Followed by hill top zone, Oil (something) zone and well you get the point.

As for me, well Glenn hit it right on the hedgehog spine. Sega all stars fighting. I would love to see Sonic, Shadow, Beat and Nights in the same ring fighting for no freaking reason. Hell I'd be happy if Shadow or Beat made it in the next smash bros. That would be enough to shut me up for another 4+ years.

Seriously, the only thing I can think of that I'd absolutely adore right now... the only videogame that truly needs to be made at the moment... the only really unique idea that doesn't really impact the ongoing canon series of Sonic adventures?

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Fighters.

YES. Honestly, if they did something like SSBB or MVC:3 then I would love it.

Shadow the Hedgehog 2!

*Shot*

I would actually like that preferably with

A) Better co-op and

B) Modern Characters. (preferably Silver and Blaze)

I had a couple ideas for level modes that involve visual changes and other things in Sonic Generations. These could be done by the System Internal Clock or as an option on Level Select.

Day Intervals

-morning, day, noon, sunset, and night

-music changes

-difficulty changes; nighttime = Hard Mode

For example:

Green Hill -> Sunset Hill

Sunset Park -> Twinkle Park

Route 99-> Speed Highway

Good and Bad Future

-similar to Sonic CD, but without the Signs

-good and bad future versions of levels

For example:

Green Hill (Past) -> Mecha Green Hill Zone (Bad Future)

Green Hill (Past) -> Neo Green Hill Zone (Good Future)

Ice Cap (Past) -> Robotnik Winter (Bad Future)

Ice Cap (Past) -> Ice Paradise (Good Future)

Death Egg -> Egg Utopia (Bad Future)

Death Egg -> Scrambled Egg (Good Future)

Weather Changes

-change the weather of the level

-sunny, rain, cloudy, snow, etc

-storms during boss fights

I want another story arc to be honest, I loved the Death Egg saga, and the Chaos/Shadow saga started out good, I don't see why we can't have another, it helps expand on the adventuring aspects, and the storyline a bit, and can actually give some of the characters relevant roles again.

That's not saying that the standalone games nowadays are bad, but they need to step it up, Unleashed was good for an adventure despite mainly focusing on two characters, but I still find Sa1, and Sa2 vastly superior in terms of story. Here's hoping Generations gives me what I crave.

I want something as epically awesome and potentially world shattering as the death egg again. and i don't want it to be a monster. i want eggman to come up with some bastardly evil scheme involving some invention of his that would just fuck shit up (once powered with the chaos emeralds obviously =P) I wouldn't complain if it was a saga crossing over for 2 or 3 games either, just to add to the scope. I feel like trilogies are a popular trend in gaming these days (halo, crysis, assassin's creed, mass effect, etc.), and there ain't nothin wrong with a good cliffhanger at the end either.

As far as gameplay, I love all 3 major styles (classic/2d, adventure, unleashed), so I don't care if it's one of those or some amalgamation of them. I'd love to see tails and knuckles playable again with alternate routes available only for them. Also, for the story, I don't really want a realistic "earth" with human civilizations and that crap, just make it about what Sonic was always about, stopping eggman from making robots out of animals and ruining the world.

This will likely never occur, but if it did, I would be pumped

I would like a combination of Sonic Adventure gameplay, with super speed sections consisting of Unleashed style gameplay. However, to suggest my own style of gameplay, here's what it would be.

Gameplay

Gameplay would be combination of platforming and speed, specifically in the style of a parkour game. There would different moves such as wall jump and perhaps a new form of homing attack for high-speed platforming. Levels would be similar to those of unleashed, with most of the levels being "get to the goal" style, and others being certain missions (such as completing it undefeated.) The focus would mostly be on Sonic given the gameplay style, but including similar characters with different abilities (such as Blaze and Shadow,) would work too. Multiplayer would have two different modes. Once a racing mode, with more linear levels (and alternate paths,) where two people race to the goal, and one as a battle mode, with more open levels (like the adventure fields in Sonic Adventure,) with different walls and obstacles used for fighting each other (closer to SaTH but without guns or vehicles.) Here is Sonic's moveset.

Sonic

Jump Press A to jump in the air

Jumpdash Press A to jump, then A again to jumpdash.

Homing attack Press A to jump, and then again when locked onto an enemy to perform a homing attack.

Wall jump/run Press A to jump, and then again to dash onto a wall. Use the d-pad to run along the wall for up to fifteen seconds.

Slide Hold X to charge, and then release to slide. You can take out enemies or slip under walls this way.

Platform jump In certain places there will be platforms used to traverse gaps or other obstacles. Homing dash onto the first platform, then used the d-pad to jump from one platform to the next to reach the other side.

Spindash Once your gauge is full, you can press Y to do a spindash. It will boost you through certain parts of the level until you deactivate it or the gauge runs empty. While performing spindash you are invincible to badniks and obstacles.

I'll add more stuff in later, including more character movesets.

I want a Sonic that takes place in an open-ish world. Nothing crazy like GTA sized. More like Zelda 64. Or better yet Shadow of the Colossus where the map was gigantic but with certain key locations. Levels connected by a larger than usual hub, with lots of RPG elements. Sonic Adventure was developed under the name Sonic RPG you know. Why not a hub full of Unleashed style NPCs, with actual quests involved. Bring me something from this and this level and I'll upgrade your bounce attack Sonic. The large hub would wrap around to all sides, no artificial boundaries or walls. Sonic could potentially zip endlessly around the large hub as if it were a globe of the world. Boost would make this extremely entertaining. Of course there would be actual levels, something like the Adventure games but with more classic Sonic elements like climbing (vertical areas), wall running, and banking off of ramps for huge air. The levels are built like both racetracks and jungle gyms so all players get their fix. Different areas of the levels are connected by walkways in the sky, roads, or things to shoot off of. Multiple objectives (acts) would keep you returning to old levels later in the game, with environment change effects ala Angel Island Zone on fire to keep things interesting, or earthquakes, or whatever. It'd be an epic adventure worthy of the title SA3 but that's all hype. Take note dammit Sega.

Steal Kirby: Canvas Curse's gimmick. Sonic jogs forward automatically at a modest pace. Draw paths for him to run on with the mouse/stylus/Wii remote pointer. Spindash/roll with a button press. Add actual Sonic physics.

All I want at this point is Sonic 3 (& Knuckles) for iPhone. So I can play it all day, every day.

But I have always thought something like Sonic Colors but with elemental based powers instead of different Wisps would be kinda cool. Or just bring back elemental shields if that would be easier.

Weather Changes

These are pretty cool idea's. I loved how the unleashed DLC showed us stages at different times of the day, Spagonia was especially interesting. So tying that into the "main game" a bit more seems like a good idea to me. I remember being excited at the old tech demo for Sonic 06 where they showed the day/night cycle. The game's a disaster but dayum I would go back and hit it hard if I could run around kingdom valley at nighttime.

Weather change would be brilliant too if just for a rain option. I'm a massive fan of rainy weather but off the top of my head only White Jungle and Pirate Storm were Sonic levels with rain. The downpours in Frog Forest in Heroes were ace but didn't last long enough. I Imagine a stormy stage presented by the unleashed/generations engine would be breathtaking.

Just thought of another rainy stage. The hang-gliding zone from Sonic 2 on Master System..yeeaahh.

(complete deviation, I only just got to "Green Hills zone" for the first time at the weekend, to find the music for this stage is an 8 bit version of 'Toot Toot Sonic Warrior' from JP/EU Sonic CD. Apparently this version came first. Mind blown!)

As for new game idea's, some-one on this forum once suggested a Robotnik RTS in the style of Command and Conquer. As far as totally new game idea's go, I think this one is so crazy it just might work. Sending a squad of Catterkillers to take down a GUN tank? Yes please.

That would be awesome. Maybe if they used the title "Sonic Wildfire" which, as pointed out before, was a pretty badass title. Maybe something with Blaze, like their worlds are colliding, and Sonic and Blaze are merging, giving Sonic different abilities belonging to Blaze. This would be a main system game with Blaze in it, for consoles. Plus, then Blaze would be in his head and give him instructions, as opposed to Sharha/Eggman/Merlina giving you instructions randomly without them being seen at all. Maybe something like the "insta-shield" from Sonic 3 could be brought back but in the form of a fire shield. An elemental game in general would be awesome though.

I WANT SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG 2~

Only this time, it's a satirical game about what's wrong with today's industry: kids and M-rated games. I mean, just a few weeks ago, I went into GameStop to pick up a copy of STAR FOX 64 3D. 5 seconds later, two 7-YEAR OLDS walk in and are looking for the new CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS ZOMBIE MAPS

So yeah. A game making fun of that~

Independant Chao garden. Basicaly, Sonic Team releases a downloadable Chao garden that get updates to make it compatible with each subsequently released Sonic game. You would play it seperately from the actual games, and wouldn't even need another Sonic game to play with it. Of course actually having the games means you get all the Items, animals, gardens and perhaps racetracks that come with them. Of course it wouldn't be complete without a little online action, as it online races, Karate, and perhaps two other sports like Soccer.

Oh my gosh that would be amazing. Chao are so freaking adorable. <3 I mean, it would be more of a spin-off game and whatnot, but still. Wait, I got it, Nintendo Chaos. Aw yeah, that's just win, particularly if it works like what you outlined (kinda like a hamster ball thing, but way more awesome.)

I don't really want it to be a game in and of itself. What I want is a chao garden that connects to all Sonic games you play on that console. A sort of universal chao garden if you will.

And actually... I don't think a chao only game would stand up too well on it's own.

So in other words, DLC compatible with most sonic games? Yeah, good luck with that. It would be nice addition to some games (especially if there were things exclusive to certain games, like Iblis/Mephiles chaos,) but it would be hard to implement. Also, it probably wouldn't be on Wii since most games were on other consoles (Sonic 06, Generations,) or as arcade games (e.g. SA1,) and since Wii hardly does DLC unless of course it was on Wiiware, and maybe was compatible with GC games played on wii (as well as Colors which didn't get an HD version, or the storybook series.) Exclusive chaos and tracks would be a good way to entice people to buy certain games as well as to provide little extra bonuses. Maybe we could get some more info on the history of chaos and whatnot? (assuming they weren't in some of the other games, never played SA1 through Heroes.)

do i have to bring this out again

I WANT MY SONIC: BUCKETS OF BLOOD

lmafo

Anyway, another Sonic game I'd like to see implement improved gameplay styles of all three gameplay styles: Classic, Adventure, and Unleashed. (Spoilered for length)

The classic gameplay would pretty much be updated Sonic 3 & Knuckles gameplay, physics, and momentum. Gameplay is strictly 2D or 2.5D. At least everyone would have the basic ability to roll. Some characters (namely Amy) would have an alternative jump that doesn't have the character "spin" when jumping and also have them execute actions not possible in jumping. 2P co-op would be possible in this gameplay. The three elemental shields as well as the basic shield are also available to use within levels, and badnik bouncing in order to rackup your score would also be present. Modern abilities (namely the homing attack, the boost, and wall-jump) as well as classic abilites (Super Peel-Out, Spin Attack, and Spin Dash) are also optional to use. I'm not exactly sure, but maybe a trick system could also be used.

The Adventure gameplay would for the most part stay the same, but would have have improved controls and camera. Characters who moved slow (i.e. Big, Amy) would have increased speed. Boost won't be available in this gameplay, but the basic and elemental shields would be available in this version as well.

The Unleashed gameplay would have both the 3D on-rails gameplay and have the 2.5D gameplay (at least 70% 3D gameplay and 30% 2D/2.5D). There would be a little bit more platforming areas, and less boost hallways and QTEs. As the game progresses, there would be less emphasis on boosting through levels. The boost guage would be somewhat harder to fill as well. It would also have some few underwater gameplay stages. Boosting would be optional to use, and shields aren't available in the Unleashed gameplay.

Goals in all gameplay would be reaching the goal or racing against a rival/enemy/the clock toward the goal for all characters. No fishing, (mech) shooting, treasure hunting, fleeing from robots, or beat em' up alternative gameplay.

Multiplayer modes (2P only, local and online) would also retain the basic gameplay modes, but also have few exclusive modes as well (some that may require changes in gameplay or level design in some levels, as well as multiplayer-exclusive created levels). The customizable abilites can't be used in multiplayer mode. Possible ideas are relay racing, "King of the Hill," and "Emerald Hunting." Additionally, a scoring system that can be used in regular racing modes. This would be an updated Sonic 2 scoring system. Players will be either score "wins" or have their score based on speed, time, rings held at the end of the level, total rings collected, and item boxes broke. The player can also change the scoring system so that only a few factors or just one would be affect their score. The teleportation item (which switches the players location, time, score, rings, and shields if one of the players are using any) would return as a exclusive multiplayer item.

Another idea I had was a updated HD Sonic Adventure collection (Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and a seperate Chao Garden). This is a bit lengthy, so I spoilered it, because this post is long enough :P

- Updated HD graphics and cutscenes

- Better controls/physics/camera for all gameplay levels

- Trophy/Achievement list

- SA2 style multiplayer of SA1 stages

- 2P racing multiplayer of full SA1/SA2 Sonic/Shadow stages

- Option to switch Tails from on foot to mech for both SA1 and SA2 stages (Tails on foot in SA2 has his arm cannon from Advance that works similar to his mech)

- SA2 Knuckles/Rouge stages refined to be more like SA1 Knuckles stages

- All SA1 and SA2 characters (excluding the Chao in the Chao Walkers and Eggman) are playable in all SA1/SA2 Sonic/Shadow stages. Treasure hunter players all have the same speed, but are slower (but not too slow!) than speed characters.

- E-102 Gamma/Tails/Eggman/(Dark) Chao Walker playable in all SA2 Tails/Eggman stages

- Knuckles/Rouge/Tikal/Chaos playable in all SA1/SA2 Knuckles/Rouge stages

- Sonic and Tails co-op play available in SA1 stages

- SA2 DLC is unlockable and is able to be used in both SA1 and SA2

- SA2 Green Hill Zone is unlockable

- SA1 and SA2 upgrades useable in both SA1 and SA2 levels

- Super Sonic and Super Shadow unlockable and playable in all levels

- Big's fishing stages are only available as minigames and is replaced with Tails-esque stages. Big merely has to reach the goal before Froggy does. Big can use the "spin attack" and use his fishing rod to attack enemies and use them to access alternative paths

- Artwork gallery of artwork from both games available for viewing

- Soundtest menu

- Online leaderboards/multiplayer

- Chao Gardens now has it's own section in-game. All Chao Gardens and gameplay modes from SA1 and SA2 are unlocked from the start, with available local/online leaderboards and multiplayer available. All SA1/SA2 playable characters (excluding Chao in Chao Walkers) are useable.

- Unlockable classic skins of (Super) Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and Eggman (trollface)

- Playable characters: (Super) Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, E-102 Gamma, Big, (Super) Shadow, Rouge, Metal Sonic, Eggman, Chao Walker, Dark Chao Walker, Tikal, and Chaos. 16 players total (including characters in Super forms and multiplayer characters).

THIS.

Okay well, that's the general idea. A classic style game with 3D adaptions (so pretty much like the Adventures)...

As you pointed out, that's pretty much like the Adventures, and Sonic Generations is already sort of doing that (though the classic stages are in 2D and the Modern stages have different gameplay.)

Here's what I propose: We use convert Unleashed-style gameplay into 2D. I don't mean just the day stages, but the night ones as well. Daytime stages would work like Sonic 1-4. Nighttime stages, on the other hand, would work like Ristar, (the inspiration for the werehog,) with slower platforming sections (and some fighting,) designed specifically for the werehog's stretchy arms, with things like ladders and poles to dance climb on. Using the slingshot-attack from Ristar would be nice (your grab an enemy using the grab button, then release to slingshot yourself into them,) but punching should also be added. Of course, gameplay would be mostly the same, with punching combos being available using a different button (ala Knuckles in Sonic Advance,) and some beat 'em up sections, but less emphasis on fighting and more on platforming. (and obviously less speed.) Heck, this could even work for Sonic 4 Episode 2/3, since SEGA isn't really sticking with cannon on part 1 anyhow. In fact, they might even take it a step further, giving you the option to switch between the werehog and hedgehog freely or having the stage switch between day and night. Plus, with the ability to switch, you could breeze through certain parts as the hedgehog, then change into the werehog for beat 'em up sections if you wished, or just try and spindash/jump through them. While Sonic's gameplay would also be faster, they could add shortcuts requiring the werehog's stretchy arms as an incentive to use him. Of course, that's just assuming he's completely optional, but if they execute it right, they might get people to change their minds about him. (or at least like him in this game.) Anyone like this idea?
