Loved "Livin in the City" from Sonic R and "Open Your Heart" & "It Doesn't Matter", the SA version. And "Live and Learn", SA2. Not a fan of anything post 2005, really. P.S., also loved the ending Sonic X Japanese theme with the little girl's voice. Beautiful. The actual music video bothers me though. They nailed my music taste with this one, been a metal fan for 21 years now and Pierce the Veil is one of my favourite bands out there, so getting to hear Kellin Quinn in a Sonic song was absolutely nuts for me...and it still is today. I hope they continue down this road in the future. After all, it's been pretty much the only consistently good thing across the games, with very few breaking that trend (I was actually thinking about doing a troll post and linking Sonic Eraser's music, but I decided against it). Lyrical songs like What I'm Made Of, Knight of the Wind, like most of the ones found in Sonic Frontiers. And then there's non lyrical ones, like Green Forest's theme from Sonic Adventure 2 (Won't Stop, Just Go!) and any variation of Metal Sonic's theme from Sonic CD (Stardust Speedway Bad Future JP). So instead (even though I listed some anyways :p), I'm going to use this opportunity (your topic) to list some songs/music I like that are either obscure or underrated. Get ready for me to ramble on a bit. First up is Metal Sonic from Virtual Son- 15 hours ago, Shiny Gems said: Oh, and maybe this, too. Oh, I was late. By like 15 hours. Oh well. The latter one isn't actually something that I really listen to, but connects to me in that it sounds like early Thomas & Friends music (that is, if it's the song I'm talking about, can't exactly listen to it in school right now), as I was a major Thomas fan when I was younger. If I recall correctly, it's because the song is done using the same instruments/equipment/something else that a couple of early Thomas seasons used. Otherwise, this sounds nothing like what you'd expect to be Sonic music, but I think that's what makes this album unique; it's literally a mixed bag. Now, as for other bits of music, the soundtrack for the Sega Saturn version of Sonic 3D Blast doesn't get as much praise as it should. This is probably due to the fact that most people tend to overlook this version of the game (not that Sega does; how come this version never gets ported). The soundtrack for this version is even done by the same composer for fellow Saturn game, Sonic R: Richard Jacques. The highlights for me include: The title theme, Green Grove Zone Act 1, Rusty Ruins Act 1, and Spring Stadium Acts 1 and 2. Some of these songs (particularly the first 3 I mentioned) have been used in Sonic Speed Simulator, which makes me glad that these are finally getting some use out of them, as well as more exposure. Finally (due to how long this already is, and the time I currently have available), I want to give a shout out to Sonic Adventure's Red Mountain's Red Hot Skull (the music used in the volcano). Being a fan of rock music of any kind, this is kind of a jam for me. Also, to me personally, it sounds like a certain band I know (one that probably no one knows), specifically the guitar riffs. That's about it for now. maybe I'll add more at some point. I would have included links, but again, time. It's almost the end of my current class period. Until then, cheers! The cyberspace twist was definitely a cool addition and had a lot of cool tracks to go along woth it as well. From official soundtracks to game rips, prototypes and even fan-made: games like BtS, AtS and Triple Trouble 16-Bit and remixes (only certain ones that I like).
