After a long, long, looooong absence, Sonic Team's musical monkey Amigo has finally returned to our screens with the one-two launch of Samba de Amigo: Party Central on Nintendo Switch and Samba de Amigo: Party-to-Go on Apple Arcade. And it's out now!

We've covered the new Samba de Amigo pretty extensively here on TSS, ever since it was surprise-announced back in February. The game's production was led by Sonic Team alumni Shun Nakamura, who celebrated the launch on social media earlier today. The new game features an Amigo with a brand new vibe for modern audiences, and includes over 40 new songs as well as a whole bunch of DLC to wave your hands to.

Are you getting either the Nintendo Switch game or diving into the Apple Arcade mobile version? Let us know in the comments below!

I wouldn't have known about this if I didn't let Sega spam me in exchange for a code for Sega Bass Fishing that I haven't even played yet. Totally worth it.

Still, it's good to see them bringing back a dormant IP. I'll likely be skipping it since I don't collect Switch games anymore, but if this somehow got a PC release I'd consider looking into it, silly peripherals and having to program Linux kernel drivers for said peripherals be damned.
