Sega Plans 2015 - Service Games Games

EDIT: Btw, Could the new game that Sega was talking about when they admitted betraying fans be either Blade Arcus, Steins;Gate 0, or else? And Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will not be playable during TGS 2015!? I may not be surprised and getting hyped about TGS 2015.

Haruki Satomi said he believes that they will announce a new game for home console at TGS and the games you mentioned were announced earlier, weren't they?

It is confirmed that Yakuza studio will reveal a new game at TGS and it is also confirmed that they are working on a non-Yakuza game (it is not 100% clear which kind of game they announce at TGS) so it seems very likely that Haruki Satomi meant that game.

So, absolutely nothing for Western SEGA fans. Good job SEGA, you really know where your fanbase is.

Breaking News: Company announces Eastern focused products at an Eastern gaming event.

Sega-3D-Fukkoku-Collection-2-cover-art.j

Looks like Power drift and Puyo Puyo 2 will be in the next Sega 3D Classic's collection (My goodness, Ken Sugimori can draw a perfect Sonic and Arle).

But when these come to the west, what will they do with Puyo Puyo, cause SEGA has this silly mindset that Western folks don't like the Puyo Puyo characters or something like that, it's similar to what happen to Lip and her Fairy friends from the change from Panel De Pon to Yoshi's Cookies. Will they simply not release it here?

We'll stream SEGA TGS on Twitch, check this: http://kagayaki.moe/tgs/

Is the stream in English ?

In other news, it seems that Sega is releasing their licensed stuff like Total War : Warhammer and the HD collections like Yakuza Kiwami around February 2016 for some easy cash, then they're gonna release the 2016 Sonic game as a flagship game around June, and then they're gonna release the new original stuff like Yakuza 6 and the LEXUS thing around Fall 2016-Spring 2017 as a follow-up.

An HD remake of the original Yakuza and Yakuza 6, both announced for the PS4 and coming 2016!...with no mention of a Western release.

So, a Sega game symphony is happening in October of this year (Sonic 3 music conspiracies start in 3, 2, 1)

Shameful skipping sonic 3.

Even more shameful, skipping puyo Puyo, Skies of Arcadia, Shenmue, Yakuza, Phantasy Star, Ristar, and some other Sega gems.

Anymore proof needed that Sonic 3 definitely has music licensing issues, there it is. =/ Sucks because the music in that game is brilliant!

Well, technically not all of it has licensing issues, but I don't know how well orchestral versions of the 1-Up or Act Clear jingles would go over. :/

Ah, times like this show why it's good to have creative employees sign over all rights in perpetuity when they work for you. It would have avoided the Pendering, and it would have avoided this as well.

It would be nice to have a Sonic concert this year, but alas, that takes money. Even YoumaCon's Crush 40 performance is out of the question for me, as much as it kills me to let it slide.

I didn't find anything about Sonic Runners during TGS 2015. Maybe it's not playable there?

But, I found a photo from SoJ's Twitter account this time:

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice is at TGS 2015? But, it's not playable there, right?

EDIT: Sorry. That photo came from TGS 2014. So, there isn't absolutely SB: F&I at TGS 2015.

Yeah, Sonic 3 stuff only gets even more confirmation. As if we even needed more.

But I can see the Sonic songs chosen are of the classics and Adventures... which means that at least the performance has it's priorities straight for Sonic. :y

You know how we can usually console ourselves that SEGA at least has Sammy’s pockets to back it up?

Well…

https://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/pdf/release/20150930_adjustment_e_v3.pdf

Sounds like even the casino division is going downhill, with recent machines like those based off Bayonetta not generating enough to offset the costs of advertising and development. 200 jobs will be cut, and the consolidated sales forecast was slashed from 200 billion to 156 billion yen.

https://trademarks.justia.com/790/40/sega-sammy-79040246.html

To top it all off, SEGA Sammy lost its trademark due to incorrect filing.

Could just be an ill wind; we all remember how Nintendo was faring in recent years. Doesn’t Nintendo have boatloads more money in reserve, though?

No offense, but I don't think it's fair and/or accurate to economically compare Nintendo with Sega at  at this point.

Pretty sure Sammy does too. While their panchinko business is slowing...it's still panchinko. It's made billions of cash for them over the past several years, and its still making billions of cash for them as of now.

The point was that every company has a bad year. It's actually very common for even larger businesses to run into losses every so often. It's just the way of business.

Your problems only start when the losses are continuous.

Question is how much of it they kept in reserve.

It's no secret that many are prone to splurging a huge infusion of cash rather than saving it for a rainy day.
