Regarding NSFW/ecchi/whatever images.

I totally agree with this. I don't come here to see NSFW stuff, and quite frankly it's embarrassing/stressful to browse this site with others in the room because NSFW avatars or profile pics might pop up and then it gets awkward. I don't understand why people feel the need need to post this kind of stuff here. There are plenty of other sites (no really, there are a whole lot) to post and view this stuff. I don't see why it can't stay on those sites and away from our little Sonic forum.

I kid! I kid! Since when has bleach been erotic anyway?

Since Aizen put his hands on Ichigo. laugh.png

Actually, I really don't know. Filler made me quit most of the series in both the manga and animation.

So basically, what I'm getting at here is to keep images "PG-13" at the most (and with a very, very small wiggle room for "R" rated images), right?

I never really minded the smut(I am a MAN after all), but I can kind of see why it'd be a problem; imagine trying to look at SSMB in your local Best Buy, and pass by one of Soniko's image posts, it'd be more than awkward if a random 13 year old kid walks by and says "ZOMG BOOBZ" and then he asks "Yo bro, can I have that site" and then you're just standing there dumbfounded. This is mainly why unless I'm in a quiet area, I use my phone to look up shit.

Nobody is saying you can't post sexy pics of Animu girls, but I think there needs to be some sort of line less we get a reputation as a Sonic porn site.

Ask yourself before upload, is there ass protruding? Underboob? Semi naked canoodling? Sideboob? Panty shots? Would I wear it on a tshirt to a job interview? Is there a phallus? A weirdly placed carrot? Liquids of questionable origin? Visible cameltoe? This goes for avatars, signatures, image posts, profiles, whatever.

...Maybe for a job interview at a sexy t-shirt factory? 8D

Also is it still a panty-shot when they're only wearing panties anyway.

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to be with Super Soniko on this one, what she had wasn't that bad I don't see the need to draw the line any farther then is has been drawn. The state of enforcing the rule was fine as it is.

So it was fine, being not enforced at all? Ever? On anyone?

Well, as far as I know, no one had an avatar that was generally considered NSFW.

According to your guidelines, I've only seen borderline stuff.

Exactly, why wait until somebody posts Hawt naked girl on girl action before the mods do something about it?

Can we just ban anime pics altogether?

Welp, so much for what little popularity I had here in the first place...

"NSFW" doesn't mean "porn." No one is saying Soniko's thing was porn. What it actually means "Not Safe For Work," meaning "could I get in trouble if someone goes through my computer at work and sees that I looked at this," and outside of a strip club I have to wonder where you work if a huge picture of a pretty much naked chick strategically covered is safe for work

Well, if you don't want to get in trouble at work, should you even be on here at work in the first place? You could probably get in trouble for being on a message board at work alone.

There's a difference between going on a message board during your break and looking at scantily-clad anime girls during your break.

Even though in a perfect world I believe both are completely reasonable activities.

Althooooough to be fair whenever I've browsed message boards on a public computer I've always turned off avatars (or at least signatures) personally. Still, considering most people are recognised by avatar, that is way more an inconvenient workaround than a solution.

Yeah but it was bound to happen that someone would eventually have an Avatar that might offend people meaning the mods would have to reinforce their policy. smile.png

*walks away slowly*

All my girls are clothed, SFW material before someone brings it up.

Being the pervert I am, I am kind of split on this choice. But after deliberating with my...self... I have come to realize that I just have to accept it.

No more sexy avatars for you Blue. sad.png

The biggest question on my mind after reading all of this is why NSFW pictures of scantily-clad anime girls and annoying, big-eyed moe shit is considered "fun," or at least the only fun worth having in regards to sigs and avatars. Out of all the anime imagery out there on the Internet that is beautiful, awesome, amazing work to ape for a sig or avatar, let alone all of the imagery in general, cracking down on loliboob is an assault on fun? Really? Ugh. *goes to school*

To be fair some people do just have a higher sex drive than others and that's nothing to be ashamed of, nor is it something to put people down for as if they're incapable of appreciating non-sexy art. Though I agree there's a time and a place for everything and I think the limit here is reasonable.

I'm not putting people down for having a high sex drive, nor am I saying people with a high sex drive cannot appreciate general art. I'm criticizing the idea that the mods cracking down on pics they have unanimously agreed are too racy for their forum is an assault on fun, because the fact remains there are trillions of images that are still acceptable to display on this forum. I've also seen and been privy to much more stringent rules: strict size limits, no animated avatars, no signatures at all, so I feel no sympathy in this case.

This might surprise you, but the internet is loaded with perverts.

Well, that's all I'm saying, to such people, it could be seen as an assault on fun if sexy stuff is that important to them. I mean it is a case of just "deal with it" because yes this is no place for the stuff, but it isn't completely unjustified to feel that way.

Just different strokes for different folks.
