Are sonic-inspired original songs also accepted?

Hey guys, does anyone know what happened to the page for the 2011 album? All of the browsers I have tried give me errors saying it can't find it, and the Media link on the TSS main page doesn't work either.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's back. Seriously, what happened though?

On an unrelated note, I decided to keep working on my WWP remix some more, and well...

I think I'm gonna end up scrapping this song. I spent so much time tweaking it, and it doesn't even sound that great in the end. Ableton Live really isn't working for me, and I don't have very many other options right now. I'm frustrated, burnt out, and I really need to get to bed, so goodnight.

That WWP Remix is sounding awesome.. Its got a retro late 80's/90 feel to it and I love it! :')

Well here's my WIP remix of Time Eater Phase 2:

Final Shards Of Time:

At the moment I'm using Nexus Guitars what sound pretty realistic but it would still be nice to have a real guitar on it. If anyone fancy's adding to it and collaborating then feel free,

Here's the same track but without the guitar in it: http://soundcloud.com/stereopixel/final-shards-of-time-without

Someone on YouTube asked about using a TSSMA track in a video, if Carbo/Jeff want to take a look -

This got me thinking though; the current licence for the 2011 album explicitly forbids "derivative works", which basically means you're not allowed to use the music in something else (e.g. as the bgm for a music video). It's a standard licence for covering bases with music, and we're free if asked to give someone else extra rights... but considering the album is free, I'm wondering if taking the non derivative part out would be a better option.

That said, not many people actually pay attention to licencing, and would do what they want, but still...

The By-NC licence is like this: Anyone using our work must credit the author, and is not allowed to do so for commercial purposes. Anything else is fair game. Obviously I'm not going to change it unless you guys think it's a good idea.

Yeah, I found someone using the Title song or whatever I did as their "youtube page intro" as well. They didn't give credit, but I just politely asked them and he changed the video description real fast, XD. I don't think it's a big deal honestly, just like Jeff said, give credit where do prolly.

Just a random crazy idea; How about since this needs the OK from all the artists, whoever approves should like Vizard's above post. Keep it organized, you know.

Maybe we put a notice on it next time. Like "Free to use as long as you give credit due!" or something simple like that.

I just love seeing my art circulating on all these things hahaha. Glad people love that album art.

As for the rest of the stuff, I'm cool as long as credit is given where it is due! Since these are all derivative fan works anyway as long as its not being used in anything that is making profit I am fine with my remixes being used AS LONG AS CREDIT is given.

So... me and my brother (The Pentagon Soundsystem on here) have decided to do a Sky Base remix. smile.png Hopefully I can get a preview of it up ASAP.

(Also Vizard, that old Mecha GHZ mix that The Pentagon made is going to remain unfinished now-sorry about that. :<)

EDIT: Preview is up!

EDIT 2: And already, another preview. :3

I'm guessing your using FPC for the Drums? Maybe add some reverb cus they sound a little too harsh and dry. I also recognise the Sytrus presets there ;)

I can tell its a work in prgress but it looks like it has potential :)

Thanks for the crit! We'll take on board what you said, particularly about Sytrus-sorry about that, I'm a tad new to FL. happy.png;

EDIT: Although-whilst I did use Sytrus, I don't believe I used anything from the presets section. O.O;

Many thanks to ibbod0 (from the Jun Senoue forums) for his help in correcting the gain issue I had (yay for budget hardware!).

This is not a perfect run-through (as you can tell) but this is pretty much how I want the guitars and bass to sound in the final version (I'm a fan of raw sounding guitars :P).

Now to re-record, add the lead guitars, add drums and add vocals!

Thanks!

Very nice!

If you still need a hand with the drums, then I'm still up for it.

Thanks! And yes that would be great if you could! I'm gonna fix the backing track and I'll send it you when I've done :)
