The moody and broody Shadow the Hedgehog has made an impact on various video game outlets, as illustrated by the second annual Wizard Video Game Awards. Sonic’s doppelgänger was named the Best Villain of the Year. “Packing more ‘tude than the blue dude himself, this evil hedgehog’s killer look and dreams of world conquest had fans loving him more than hating him,” said the magazine. Fresh from SEGA’s official website, we now know the release date for Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on the Gamecube for the US. According to the site, the game will hit store shelves in January 2002, which is a month after its release in Japan. That should be enough time to get all the localisation ready, from voices to extras, right? Time to get excited!

Sonic Team has released another download for Sonic Adventure 2 on Dreamcast! This time, to celebrate Hallowe’en, the studio is offering players the chance to give each character in 2P mode a spooky makeover. Rumours are flying around that a Japanese release date has been set for Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for Nintendo Gamecube. These unconfirmed reports speak of the game hitting store shelves on December 20th. SEGA hasn’t yet confirmed or denied the rumour, and there’s no word on any US or European date. We’ll have to wait and see how this pans out…
Sonic Team has released a new piece of downloadable content for Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast. Called ‘Eggrobo Toujou’, the VMU file contains a skin for Sonic in the Kart Racing mini-game that changes him into a classic Egg Robo from Sonic & Knuckles. The download also comes with a special ‘E’ shaped track, which when played features the ‘E.G.G.M.A.N.’ theme in the background.

SEGA has released a whole heap of new screenshots for Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on Nintendo Gamecube. In them, you can see the slight graphical upgrade that’s been given to the environments and character models, illustrated by Sonic strolling about in Green Forest, Metal Harbor, City Escape and Pyramid Cave. Sonic Team has released a small update for players of Sonic Adventure 2 on Dreamcast. It’s the Dr. Eggman theme, which you can download and use as a menu screen voice/background for the game. As you sweep across various menu items, you’ll hear Eggman speak to you in his gravelly tones. If you want it go to the SA2 Dreamcast website and download to your VMU.

We saw it coming, but SEGA has reportedly made the news official about Sonic Adventure 2 being released on Nintendo’s Gamecube console. A report from Nintendo’s Space World show indicates that the game will hit the system, but Sonic Team will formally announce any new changes to the game since its Dreamcast release later this week.
SEGA has been keeping quiet over their secret fourth game, to be revealed at Nintendo’s Space World show – but it seems like the cat’s already out of the bag, as internet sleuths have deduced that Sonic Adventure 2 is coming to the Gamecube. RyanDrummond.com has stated that Steve Sheppard-Broadie, the voice of E-102 Gamma in Sonic Adventure 1 and the President in Sonic Adventure 2, has passed away on Friday of August 10th, we’ll miss you. Here’s what Ryan Drummond (SA/SA2’s Sonic voice) had to say:
“Before I go for this month, I have to pay respects to a fallen talent here in San Diego. Steve Broadie was a very talented Voice-Over actor here and I always enjoyed seeing him at auditions and working with him on projects. He passed away at 2pm on Friday the 10th. He will be missed. Hope he’s doing V.O.s in heaven! :)”

Now, you can log on to the SA2 Dreamcast page from the disc and upload your Chao to the Chao Daycare. Your friends can pick them up from you there. As well as share Chao, you can also use the Chao Black Market from the online site too. Get sharing!
