IDW has been teasing us with glimpses into what a Classic Sonic book for years now, but next January we're finally going to be getting something meaty, centered on a most unexpected character: Fang the Hunter is getting a mini series! That's right, the purple jerboa that SEGA barely acknowledged for decades until this year is going to be the focus of IDW's first proper lengthy Classic Sonic comic! The series will be written by Ian Flynn, with art by Mauro Fonseca, and is set to start in January. It'll feature Fang, Bean and Bark on the hunt for the mysterious 8th chaos emerald, alluding to the extra emerald that appeared once in Sonic the Fighters (Bean and Bark's first appearance), before disappearing in the annuls of Sonic lore forever. Until now. Maybe. Probably not, I'm sure this is a wild goose chase. In any case, check out the covers and solicitation below. First Details, New Characters Revealed for IDW Sonic Mini Series “Imposter Syndrome”

We only found out about IDW’s next Sonic mini series a week ago, and we already have details of what we can expect. The mini series will be tying into the main book and act as part of the “road to issue 50.” According to the solicit, “imposters” of various characters are appearing, spelling trouble for both the heroes and Dr. Eggman. The first issue will be available on November 10. The characters featured in the cover were likely first hinted at in last year’s Sonic Bad Guys mini series, as mysterious figures hidden in green tanks: Like last year’s Bad Guys, Imposter Syndrome is being written by Ian Flynn. News Surge the Tenrec and Kit the Fennec: IDW's 'Imposter Syndrome' Miniseries' New Characters Revealed

The names of the mysterious new characters in IDW's Sonic spinoff 'Imposter Syndrome' has been revealed, thanks to the publication of an advance preview magazine showcasing the upcoming miniseries. Say hello to Surge the Tenrec and Kit the Fennec. Surge and Kit will make their debut in the IDW special as incredibly powerful doppelgängers that will shake things up in Sonic's world, courtesy of the twisted Dr. Starline. According to the already-release solicitation for the comic, these two feisty combatants will be causing trouble not only for Sonic and Tails, but even Dr. Eggman. Not an awful lot else is revealed about these two besides their names, but no doubt we will hear more very soon! Information courtesy of the latest issue of Previewsworld.
