The Sonic themed downloadable content for Media Molecule’s innovative PS3 title LittleBigPlanet has barely been out for a day and there’s already some imagination at work. The above video showcases user Green_Scorpion’s very well crafted rendition of Sonic 1’s rotating maze Special Stages together with similar music.
Very well done to Green _Scorpion! Thanks to JasonTheJackass for the heads up and recording the stage.
Today is the day for the Sonic themed LittleBigPlanet items you may remember we reported about last week. The items are out now in todays PlayStation Store update but that’s not all as a lot of other Sonic related goodies including a price drop on PSP title Sonic Rivals 2 from £11.99 to £6.29. In a move that was surely only a matter of time, Sonic costumes are making their way to LittleBigPlanet. All in all five costumes will be making their way to the Playstation Store sometime mid December for your Sackboy to wear. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Eggman arefairly obvious choices but the Werehog seems a year too late to make much impact but is sure to please die-hard Unleashed fans. Whats mind boggling is the exclusion of Chip and the inclusion of Knuckles, the spiny anteater never actually appearing in Unleashed.
We’ll keep you posted on the specific release date and prices when they are made available. In the mean time check out the pictures below.
CVG are reporting that user generated levels based around other videogames are being deleted off the servers due to copyright claims from Sony. These themed levels include Sonic the Hedgehog stages. So anyone wishing to publish their favorite stages like Green Hill Zone or Emerald Hill Zone will have to keep them to themselves. CVG have contacted Sony but have received no reply yet but LittleBigPlanet developers Media Molecule have issued this statement –
“We’re reviewing the moderating system currently to provide better feedback on why levels are moderated,” he said, going on to explain: “Primarily, any level that is reported using the grief tool will be checked over by a moderator, at which point they’ll examine it in line with the EULA. If a level is found to be in violation of the EULA it will be moderated and you’ll receive a message to that effect.
“We’re moving towards a system where additional information is given, however for the time being if you don’t want your level moderating avoid anything unsuitable for users of all ages and copyright content,”
What are your oppinions on this? Has anyone with the game had their Sonic stages deleted off the server?
