New Event Time! It's the 52-Game Challenge 2024!

How's everyone's 2024 treating them? Made any good New Year Resolutions? Still keeping them? For us, one of our self-made promises was to set up more activities and events for the Sonic community to come together. And we're starting things off rather ambitiously with a brand new year-long event: The 52-Game Challenge 2024!

The idea behind this activity is really simple; you just need to task yourself with completing a video game for every week of the year. There are 52 weeks, so you need to beat 52 games. This is a non-Sonic specific activity, so you can pick any game (rules pending), new or old, to add to your list.

Take part in the Event right now by heading to the Official 52 Game Challenge topic on the Video Games forum:

There will be Achievements, Rings and Profile Cards on offer - both for taking part and for reaching certain milestones.

The above (green) Badges are awarded to members who beat 10, 25, 40 and 52 games during the event (100% completion / Platinum Trophy not required, just main game completion)

The above (orange/purple) Badges are awarded to members who fully 100% a certain number of games (10, 25, 40 and 52). Badges will stack, so members will earn the green ones too.

You don't necessarily need to complete a game every week, but we are giving away a brand new Profile Card for every week of 2024 to members who participate. These Profile Cards will be based on a new set of Sonic the Hedgehog video game boxes, called the 'Sonic Game Collection'.

Because we're already halfway into January, for the next couple of weeks we will be giving away two of these Profile Cards to Sonic Stadium members who participate in those weeks. The 'Sonic Game Collection' Profile Card Set will be limited to participants of the 52 Game Challenge for a period of time, before the Cards will be made available for all members to purchase using Rings (and for those who are new or haven't been paying attention, Rings is a free on-site currency that members earn by logging in and posting content to the site!)

Give yourself a good challenge this year and win some awesome profile rewards along the way! To enter, please read the full Event Rules and Instructions on the Official 52 Game Challenge forum topic.

Many thanks to @Ryannumber1gamerfor helping bring this awesome event to life!

I know I already beat 4 Sonic games: "Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal" on 3DS, "Sonic Generations" (3DS version), "Sonic Forces", and Sonic 1 (Anniversary Version on Sonic Origins). So, I had to complete more Sonic games I had.

To be clear - Sonic games are not the only games you can play for this challenge. It's just about seeing how many games in general you can finish and complete over the year.

Also to enter and participate (and get the prizes we're offering), you need to officially enter by posting on the event topic (Also please ensure you read the opening post to see the instructions/rules):

After speaking to @Dreadknux in a quick update call, he let me know about this, so thought I'd weigh in.

So, after Sonic Forces Overclocked released, it's reignited my passion for YouTube content, so been trying to do a video a day, and as such, dived back into "complete" Sonic Fan Games.

So, since SFO was completed in the tail end of December last year, we'll start with January.

Starting with: Sonic and the Fallen Star. Had a fantastic time playing this classic inspired fangame. The special stages are fantastic. I cannot gush enough about them., so much so I even went back after finishing to get the missing emeralds for the final boss fight.

Continuing with: Sonic Encore. Another fangame, which it's final build is available. Went through and completed all the levels with the vast array of different playable characters with different abilities. I do recommend a quick run through, as the modern gameplay is fantastic and it's very momentum based, but watch out for those chasing badniks... especially those damn Penguinators!

Because I'm a tool, all the above links go to my YT channel where I'm going through the games, currently working on Sonic 3D Blast Director's Cut as it's a personal fan favourite game of mine.
