Fang news is always Good news for us at the Sonic Stadium, and we've been treated to even more artistic delights this week thanks to a new slate of covers for IDW's Fang the Hunter comic mini-series.

Following the preview page release for Issue #1, we now have a couple of cover reveals for Issue #3, which seems to take the Weasel Sniper Hunter's adventure straight into the bowels of Dr. Eggman's base! But could an evil alliance be in the works..?

Here's Cover A of Fang #3, by Aaron Hammerstrom:

And here is the solicitation for the third issue, which offers a sneak preview of what to expect story-wise:

Quote

Fang's search for the mythical eighth Chaos Emerald continues!

The fearsome hunter's latest hunch has landed him, Bark, and Bean in the path of Dr. Eggman!

But Eggman's got issues of his own...the sort of thing Fang and the boys could be just right to solve.

And what does any of this have to do with Sonic, Tails, and a disappearing ship?

Expected Release Month: March 2024

Let us know what you think of these covers, and Fang's ongoing adventure, in the comments section below!

It does resemble it but the colors don't exactly match, being more bronze colored like Wing Fortress. (Which makes make me think there was some kind of mixup with the cover B artist)

I'm not doubting the capacity to build it, I'm calling out the timing. This Fang miniseries almost undoubtedly takes place long before Heroes. The aquatic themed sky army wasn't a thing yet.

It wouldn't be that much of a stretch to believe that eggman managed to built a prototype of the egg fleet Flagship at some point during the classic era. Heroes was like the closest 3D game to the classics in the modern era aesthetic wise at the time. It also reminds me of seeing classic eggman in some Egg carrier concept art somewhere.

If it doesnt make sense to be final fortress, doesn’t have the colours of the egg carrier, and doesn’t actually look like them if you actually look at it side to side…

maybe it’s because it’s not the final fortress or the egg carrier or wing fortress or so on? Come on guys

I would say Fang is a character who I wish wouldn't be restricted to Classic titles, he's just so cool. I'll be buying this series of comics from my local comic book shop when they come out.
