Mobile Games Valiant Tails Joins Sonic Forces Mobile As The Game's 100th Character!

Sonic Forces Mobile, it sure is a game that has come a long way, hasn't it? What started as a humble Sonic Dash spinoff has turned into a juggernaut of a mobile live service that outlived the game it was made to market! How much so? Well, SEGA Hardlight has announced their 100th character! Meet Valiant Tails!

Ditching the life of a blacksmith to joining the ranks of knighthood, Valiant Tails joins the online racing game on June 10th! Likely, he will arrive in Sonic Dash, Sonic Prime Dash and Sonic Dash+ at later dates as well.

What is interesting about Valiant Tails is this is also meant to tie into the Fearless: Year of Shadow marketing campaign. Think more characters will also release with this branding throughout the year?

Are you ready to charge into battle to celebrate Sonic Forces' incredible feat of 100 characters? It doesn't look like this game isn't saying goodbye to you, so let's give it one more (not so) last fist bump!

Awesome! Tails doesn't have enough alts IMO!

Surprised they didn't go for another Shadow alt though, since this is supposed to be the Year of Shadow after all.

That's a cool design. Tails has recieved the very short end of the stick for some reason when it comes to alt skins, and also got the booby prize as a boring blacksmith in Black Knight. Seeing him get a knight outfit here is a nice consolation.

To be fair, what else would an inventor translate to in the King Arthur era?

I'm very surprised the 100th character is not Pyromancer Blaze!!...
The new Tails doppelgänger is nice but I still hope the Blacksmith will be in the game later (same thing for Ali Baba)!!...

I mean, Black Knight isn't even remotely lore accurate to the very, very fluid lore of Arthurian legend. If it was, Gawain/Knuckles would be Arthur/Sonic's nephew and Percival/Blaze would be be a dude. And let's not get started on all the bloody murder and religious stuff.

Tails only got a bit part in a Black Knight and Eggman got the shaft entirely. That's all I'm saying. It's not like there aren't other Arthurian characters that couldn't have been loosely adapted like the others were.

Still, more alts for Tails are always welcome to balance out the absolute injustice he had through the first few years of this game. and I've said it before and I'll say it again, the BK alts must be all kinds of popular. This is another Original design to throw onto the pile. I figured Lamorak would be next on the list, but they just keep churning out more and more of these guys.

 

At this rate, Hardlight is going to want to do a spinoff mobile game focused on the black knight cast.

He could be Sir Bedivere! Or Sir Kay, who was Arthur's foster brother. Sir Bedivere was one of the knights closest to Arthur.
