Events Takashi Iizuka Attending 'IGN Live' Summer Showcase Event

Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka has been confirmed as a special guest at upcoming summer games showcase, IGN Live. Taking place between 7-9 June 2024 in Los Angeles, the mini-convention - hosted by gaming website IGN - will also stage an "in-depth interview" with the franchise's creative chief, covering a whole range of topics surrounding the Sonic series.

IGN announced the appearance of Iizuka at its show in a tweet published yesterday, along with the below image.

Are you a Sonic fan? If so, you won’t want to miss #IGNLive! The head of Team Sonic (and prolific Sonic the Hedgehog developer) Takashi IIzuka will be on hand to answer all our burning questions at the in-person fan event in LA June 7-9!

It's not yet clear if the interview will be conducted on-stage with open questions from the audience, or behind closed doors at the event. No doubt Iizuka will spend some time talking about the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations as well as the third Sonic movie, in broad terms.

IGN Live is a new "in-person fan event" that will feature stage shows, game reveals, hands-on public demos of upcoming titles, and partnerships with various game, movie and TV franchises for a range of experiences. Takashi Iizuka himself is no stranger to in-person fan meets and public interviews, though, having visited a number of popular fan conventions such as Summer of Sonic and Sonic Revolution. He's also attended fan-focused conventions such as San Diego Comic Con and SXSW in the past, and has even appeared on stage at Gamescom to meet and greet with fans directly. So this could be another great opportunity to see the man behind the hedgehog.
