Cute (same as that "Fast Friends" comic) but I really question it in context of Superstar story.

Did Trip ever liked working with Bad Guys or not? Was she forced or naively believed she's with decent people.

The flickys and giant flickys of the island were her friends. As were the various other animals, such as the Yeti or Octopus that would open secret paths at her behest.

 

Trip may have been making the most of a bad situation, feeling that keeping close tabs on them and cooperating might be better than the alternative. Eggman's motive's were clear and Fang was not shy about his lack of concern about the local infrastructure or fauna. She went along with it because she lacked the power to stop them and had few other options.

Either way, it's clear that Trip and Fung were in a difficult situation and that they made the decision they thought was best
