Mobile Games Take Sonic on the Road in Shift Up, the Next Sonic Cafe Game

Sonic finally gets to do some racing in the next game on Sonic Team's Japanese 'Sonic Cafe' mobile service. 'Shift Up' pits the blue blur against a number of challengers (including, naturally, Shadow) as they race to the finish line in race cars.

The key to winning, as the name of the game suggests, is to effectively shift gears in your car at the right time to gain the most speed. You can tune up your cars in order to adjust your stats in a way that feels most comfortable, such as gearbox mods and tyre changes. These can be purchased by rings you earn by completing races.

You can either play with the computer, in a solo race, or you can compete on a national level by downloading 'Virtual Ghosts' of other players and racing against them. Your scores are also uploaded so other players can battle you too.
