$10 bucks says its a 2D section, so the lack of fencing is a mute point.

It's not a 2D section. Look at the size of that overhang formation. The camera would have to zoom out really far not to just clip through it and look terrible. 

I'd say it's just an invisible wall.

The tag team GHZ stage starts similarly. I'd guess it's 3D but there are probably invisible walls and automatic turning.

It's still straight line zone no matter how you cut it, though.

This collage of art deserves a title.

I can't choose between "What Could Have Been" or "Goddammit, this could have worked" or "Forces Should have been a comic or an actual limited Anime series" Or "Wasted Potential".

They all fit so well.
