DaddlerTheDalek
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixels_%282015_film%29 Do you think we will see a cameo appearance of a Sonic or other Sega character like in Disney's Wreck-it Ralph? Who you would you like to see in this movie? Tell me your ideas!
Badnik Mechanic
No because as far as I'm aware the characters are from 8bit games only and it's based on arcade game characters from around 30-35 years old.
Tara
Sonic does have an 8-bit counterpart on the Game Gear, but yeah. I think this movie is supposed to be an homage to the 80's. Plus, the synopsis on Wikipedia clearly says the movie takes place in 1982, before Sonic was even considered. It wouldn't shock me if they made some very subtle reference though; however, I doubt that will be the case. ^^
The Chairman Of The Board
Just what Hogfather said. The story is america sent stuff into space in a NASA space shuttle in the 80'S not the 90'S so there is definitely no chance of Sonic.
CottonCandy
Pixaes seems to have an 80s arcade game theme going on so there's a very slim chance of sonic appearing.
Polkadi~☆
Pixels is mainly 80s video games, which is a time period Sonic isn't from. So there's no chance of seeing him there. If he was, we would have heard Roger Craig Smith getting extremely excited over getting to be Sonic in a movie again.
Tani Coyote
If by some chance this movie does well and merits a sequel, I anticipate they'd find some way to move into the 90s with the next one. He's likely sitting this one out though. If he was, we would have heard Roger Craig Smith getting extremely excited over getting to be Sonic in a movie again. No we wouldn't have, actually, because presumably that would be some sort of twist and so he wouldn't be able to talk about it.
Miitoons
No we wouldn't have, actually, because presumably that would be some sort of twist and so he wouldn't be able to talk about it. Not only that, but that would imply that the video games that DO appear in Pixels would be saying more than just their typical video game sound effects ( Pacman's "waka wakka", DK's growls), and from what we've seen/heard, the video game characters don't speak. Tracker_TD
Sonic, no. But as for the SEGA part of this question, folks seem to be ignoring the likes of OutRun and stuff. That said, I think the trailers have pretty much shown everything we're getting. SEGA would've mentioned by now if something from their 80s back catalogue was in. Tornado
No one is ignoring the fact that most of Sega's arcade franchises, including Outrun, did not exist in 1982.
Mauro Fonseca
You got Zaxxon, though, pretty sure that was early 80's.
Tornado
Zaxxon would fit the bill, and it was a humongously popular game in 1982 so it would even make a lot of sense to include it. But as a Happy Madison production, I don't think the effort required to make people recognize what it is would be likely to be expended when they can just spend half of the running time showing Pac Man and the Space Invaders aliens and not bother.
Tracker_TD
I went off the 80's not 82 specifically, since that's what was mentioned.
