Hey, they do have a comment box on the blog! *hint hint* biggrin.png.

Seriously though, whose going? I'm sure there was some SSMB members here who were going to Comic-Con this year.

You got a week dude and the event is free to everyone not just SDCC attendees.

I'm definitely going to stop by! It'll probably be Thursday because Friday is the Archer panel and Saturday is the Gravity Falls autograph section and panel.

I'll make sure to take pictures!

Right, this is starting next week!

So I don't know if they are going to allow video and picture taking at this event can't find anything about it.

But, if SEGA is OK with you guys taking video of Lost World, please take a minute out to read Cooljerk's guidelines to video capturing. pretty much every suggestion here is what the community is looking for in a fan gameplay video.

If we're talking directly to those who are gonna be at *INSERT GAME EVENT HERE* and film the game, I have a couple of requests. There are dozens of off-camera videos released for every sonic game, and they all seem to have the same fundamental problems.

1) Film the entirety of the gameplay footage. People seem to get nervous when filming stuff off-camera, trying to cram everything of the entire event into their footage. This often leads to them panning the camera onto the controller, or looks around the room. I think people think that those watching are getting bored or something - trust me, the game footage is the most important thing to me. I'd like footage of the entire act from start to finish with no breaks in the screen.

2) If you need to film the controller for some reason, use a second camera. People often film the controller while playing so people will get a feel for how it controls. But this means panning away from the screen. If you can, use a second camera to film the controls separately, or if not possible, film the act once like normal, then play again and film only the controls. I say this because you can then later edit the footage to include the controls PIP style, which gives a much better feel for the controls, without breaking the footage of the game.

3) Please don't talk. I'm not trying to be an asshole, I really do want to hear what everyone has to say about this game... just not while filming. Please. Just film the game and try to pick up as much of the sound and music as possible.

4) Record someone who can actually play the game. This is pretty self-explanatory. You know what us fans want to see in gameplay videos (Physics for example) we don't want to see some nitwit fall into the same hole 4 times.

In case it's not obvious, I'm trying to get across the point that if you want to film the game and provide footage, please concentrate on the game as much as possible.

Sorry if this came off snobby or prickish, I'm not trying to be rude or insult anyone here, especially those who are gonna provide footage for us. I'm just putting in a few requests.

They sound pretty reasonable to follow. Thanks for sharing your vids! (Thats if SEGA will even let you.)

Last year they didn't mind taking videos and photos, at least they didn't tell me to stop when I was doing it:

Hopefully, if nothing comes up I'll head to San Diego on Saturday and make a stop at the arcade. Those are good guidelines I guess, the only thing that is not up to the person taking video is the please don't talk one. I usually don't talk while filming game footage at events BUT there's always someone talking unless you're really lucky and everyone shuts up or there's no one around you at the time.

Can't wait to try out this game though!

I would go, but alas, hotels are bloody expensive during SDCC. I also need to save my spending money for Sonic Boom St. Louis and possibly Sonic Boom West.

Hopefully it's buckets of fun for you all, though!

Ok first, the chili dogs? how were they?

Second, how was lost world?

Didn't try them but they smelt bloody delicious.

Lost World...I think I was doing it all wrong.. Sonic moved along at such a slow pace.. Game is beautiful thou and I'm sure I'd learn to play it properly if I ever get a Wii U

Did you hold down either of the triggers? That's supposed to toggle Sonic's sprinting speed.

I am ecstatic they put the chili dogs there. I remember there was much griping over those not being at Sonic Boom's first year.

That statue is massive... where the hell do they keep it?

Not because I'm planning an Ocean's Eleven heist or anything, I'm genuinely curious.

...I do want it, though.

Yeah, one trigger is for the spin dash the other is an on the spot figure 8 (where nothing happens after you release the button) I'll try holding them down while moving next time I play :D

You have to hold the figure 8 trigger to get into run speed. Just so you know for the next time.

That statue looks sweet! Kind of reminds me of Classic for some reason though.

The thing that intrigues me more is that the level's called Frozen Factory, which suggests that there might be some cool mashup ice/forest/mechanical stages in addition to the weird outliers like the casino.

Also, we seem to have something like confirmation that there'll be some sort of an explanation for the misplaced levels, in case anyone was still worried.

Well we know there is a snowy forest stage based on that clip of Zeena in the latest trailer.
