A fresh batch of screenshots for the third season of Sonic Prime have been released, ahead of its January release. Netflix has also shared a new synopsis of the series' continuation, which picks things up after the events of Season 2. Check out the Season 3 description, as offered by Netflix (via fansite What's On Netflix): It certainly looks like things are heating up in the Shatterverse - especially the suggestion that Sonic himself may shatter! And will Nine realise the error of his ways in time for our heroes to stabilise the worlds around them? We won't have long to wait to find out, as Netflix recently announced a release date of 11 January 2024 for Sonic Prime Season 3 during a showcase event earlier this month. The publication of a Hollywood trade magazine has apparently revealed plot details for the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie. The sequel isn't due to release in theaters until December 2024, but it sounds like we already may have an idea of what might happen and who may be involved. NOTE: This story contains potential SPOILERS for the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movies. Although nobody from the production team or Paramount has yet confirmed any of this information, you may want to avoid reading any further in the off-chance that the following details end up being true. Production Weekly - spotted by our good friends Sonic Paradise - the latest issue of which (#1311 - August 10, 2022) states that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is in a state of "Active Development". A synopsis of the movie's plot has also been published, the key details of which are below (we've re-written from Sonic Paradise's translation of the text for ease of reading): We already know, thanks to the Sonic 2 mid-credits sequence, that Shadow the Hedgehog (Project Shadow) will make an appearance in the third movie. This is the first time we're hearing of Amy and Big's appearance, as well as what sounds like Metal Sonic too. What do you think of these possible story beats? Solicitations for IDW Sonic Issue 61 has come through the wire, and while it doesn't give us an awful lot of information to go on, it does suggest that this book will mark the end of the long-running Urban Warfare story arc. The complete, three-line synopsis can be seen below. Story is being written by Evan Stanley, with lineart by Adam Bryce Thomas. No cover has yet to be revealed, but we do know that Mauro Fonseca is lined up to handle Cover A duties, with Miles Arq and Nathalie Fourdraine pegged for Covers B and RI respectively. The release date is currently set for 24 May 2023, but knowing how IDW is with keeping to schedule we should expect that release to be delayed over the next couple weeks.
