In a surprise reveal at the Sonic SXSW panel, Sega announced a series of Team Sonic Racing products available via their official stores… Including items inspired by everybody’s favourite amphibian, Froggy!
Yes that is a Froggy shirt, and yes those are Froggy hats!
The full collection is available on the US Sega Store and you also get a free Froggy balloon when you order the Froggy items.
However the EU stores do not have the Froggy hats, and the shirts are technically crowdfunded, orders will only be fulfilled if a specific unknown number of people also order the item.
You can shop until you drop via the following links.
During the SXSW Sonic panel today, there was a surprise bit of Sonic Boom news. No, not Season 3… rather, they announced that a second volume of Sonic Boom DVDs called “Go Team Sonic” will be arriving at store shelves on June 4th. Continue reading SXSW Sonic Boom DVD Volume 2 Announced
A month ago it was confirmed that there would be a Sonic panel at this years SXSW, which prompted many to ask if it would be live streamed like previous years, unfortunately this wasn’t confirmed until today
The panel will be broadcast via Twitch On Saturday March 16th at 1PM CST.
As usual TSS will be covering the event, so you can join us in for the fun as we provide updates will all the news from the event via our twitter account as well as come back here for a full roundup of any major developments from the panel.
Yesterday we brought you the news that SXSW were teasing a Sonic related announcement.
Well that announcement has just been made and we can now reveal that there will be another Sonic Panel at this years SXSW! The initial details for the panel are as follows.
Date/Time: March 16, 2019, from 1:00PM to 2:00PM.
Aaron Webber (SEGA of America),
Jasmin Hernandez (SEGA of America),
Jun Senoue (SEGA),
Takashi Iizuka (SEGA of America)
Nothing has been confirmed or even teased with regards to announcements, but… and I stress this is my pure speculation here…
I’d like to think that since the panel is close to TSR’s release, there will be some new information on that, especially since Jun is… if you’ll excuse the pun… instrumental with the music for that game.
Jasmin Hernandez was also the production manager for Sonic Mania Adventures, could get confirmation of Season 2?
And you know that with Aaron and Iizuka on the panel, Aaron will do all he can to pry any secrets from Mr Iizuka on the day!
What do you think? What do you think will be announced or talked about, let us know in the comments.
As a final announcement at SXSW, a tiny clip was played that featured a partially silhouette logo with an “R” highlighted (eagle-eye readers will know it’s the ‘R’ from the logo of SEGA Saturn classic ‘Sonic R’), and a partial view of a black car. Rumours of a new Sonic racer being in development have been rife since the end of January, with SXSW just over the horizon, many fans have speculated as to if this would be the place for an announcement.
Well according to comicbook.com, a new Sonic game will be announced at this event!
CB.com managed to interview Ivo Gerscovich who is the chief brand officer for Sonic in America and in the same article they said the following.
And this year is looking to be just as fast for him, with the announcement of a live action/CGI movie coming next year and a new game set to be announced next month during SXSW Gaming.
Now in the interview, Ivo is not directly quoted as confirming a game announcement at SXSW, however he did have this to say about the movie…
The film-makers have a very unique and exciting vision in mind for the story, and we can’t wait to see how this blend of CGI/live action comes to life on the big screen!
We’ll keep you updated with more information as we get it.
While not 100% confirmed, it was put to the audience at SXSW today by SoA Sonic Community Manager Aaron Webber to whether fans would be interested in owning the Sonic Mania soundtrack on vinyl! At the moment this appears to be a WIP, but we will keep you up to date on whether or not this item makes it to production! Continue reading Sonic Mania OST to be released on vinyl?
