  1. Yeay! I know I'm late with everything these days, but The Sonic Site Awards 2002 is finally underway, with PHASE 1 in full swing! Click here to visit the SSA page and find out what you need to do to take part! Now, this is also a site announcement, because some people still don't get what's going on here with regards to SSNG. To those who did not understand before, I did not kick Andrew out of SSNG, so that I could start again with The Sonic Stadium and clear my name. That's not the case at all. Andrew, the poor sod, had been losing sleep because he was updating the site instead of having a kip (when the site was 'SSNG' a week ago). He left because he simply did not have the strength to continue updating the site when he could be sleeping, and also because he had a lot of commitments in real life to attend to as well. I was taken aback by his resignation, but I thought that instead, I could carry the site on and make a fresh start. We never wanted to be accused of stealing any content, but that's how bad things got with SSNG. So, with The Sonic Stadium, I decided to start fresh. All the 'stolen' content is being binned or edited, and Andrew may come back as co-head of the site yet. It's up to him. I'm not a mean old ogre. I did not kick Andrew out of SSNG. He left of his own accord, and I would welcome him back to be co-head again. While I'm on the subject, Andrew actually still works here after I asked him to stay. So any rumours of me kicking him out are totally unfounded in the first place. You should get your facts straight. When Andrew decided to leave, he got loads of offers from other sites. When I offered him a place, just doing the news (so that he doesn't tire himself out) this time, he accepted. Maybe these rumours started because of jealous webmasters. I'm not one to think like that, but... who knows? What can I think, when someone accuses me of kicking my good online friend off of a website, when in all honesty I would have been better off keeping him? That's all! Previews of the new Sonic games are coming later, but for now, The Sonic Site Awards is online now. Go check it out!
  2. Dreadknux here! You may have read about the new site change-over happening at SSNG Towers. Because of all the problems that we have been having recently, this site will now be known as The Sonic Stadium (a hark back to my old Sonic website), to give this place a fresh start. I have removed all the obvious 'stolen' material there is in this place, now that we're under new management - I say 'obvious' because there may still be some stuff that I don't know about that looks suspiciously copied from one Sonic site or the other. As you know, I hate stealing content, or even possessing stolen content, so if you see any more apparently 'stolen' stuff on this site, please please please get in contact with me as soon as possible, so I can take it down, or edit the material in some cases. I flushed the most of the nicked stuff, but there may be some stuff I missed, or didn't know belonged to sites like Sonic HQ or The Green Hill Zone, so tell me if you see any. There was no time to edit all of the pictures, but they'll soon be changed too. As for Sonic_Hedgehogs' departure as former co-head of SSNG... he will still be a working part of The Sonic Stadium team. He'll be doing the news mostly, but he will also contribute to other projects here when they may spring up. When the time comes, he may come back as a co-head for the Sonic Stadium, so good news all around! I hope you enjoy your stay here - and hopefully, this site will continue as a well-respected Sonic site! By the way, ignore the 'www.sonicstadium.org' URL seen on the banner on the other pages - I'd thought to get a URL, but I haven't yet. One other thing - be aware of broken links - it's been so hectic trying to get everything back to the norm in such a short space of time, that I'm moving things left, right and centre - because of this, some links to artwork and downloads may be missing. This is only temporary. Thanks. Update soon - but from now until September things'll be a little bit on the fragile side here. See ya soon!
  3. So much stuff has gone on in the two weeks since SSNG launched. And none of them have been good things. Controversy galore surrounds us now about what truly truly happened, so I've taken some time off to confide in you lot and tell you what the beef was... The Sonic Stadium never had any controversial problems before. Never. When I merged with Sonic News however, many people started to get iffy at Sonic_Hedgehogs and myself. This was mostly because the stuff that people had claimed we had 'stolen' from Sonic HQ _was_ from the Sonic News site, not the 'Stadium. Now, I'm in no way insinuating that S_H is a thief of content - he's a dear friend to me and I would never accuse him of anything like that. I stick by his word till the end, that's me. I talked to S_H, and it turned out that the major thing that was getting on everyone's nerves was the fact we had hold of SHQ's Knuckles Adventure hoax. Sonic News had mirrored 'Official Artwork' from the hoax that was originally theirs. Before I go on, let me explain what really happened. None of us had been further than a few pages into Sonic HQ. That's the truth. We personally never came across the Knuckles Adventure pics on their site, so we did not steal them from SHQ. Sonic_Hedgehogs had seen the images hosted on a different Sonic website. S_H thought they were cool, so he emailed the webmaster of that site if Sonic News could host the pics too. The webmaster agreed, and that is how we got hold of the 'stolen' goods. So, we asked nicely to host it, but the pics were already placed on a different site to SHQ. Just a misunderstanding, right? Sadly, no-one wanted to listen to us - so if any Sonic HQ fans are reading this they'll just have to live with the irony that it was someone else that stole those pics originally, not us. Anyway... the only other thing that had been 'stolen' from SHQ was one or two backgrounds. That, I put my hand up to. But it was another misunderstanding. I had the backgrounds to test how good the site would look overall, what with not having enough time to actually make some myself at that stage of development. I swore to myself I would make original backgrounds as soon as the site was up, so's to avoid any issues. Of course, being the forgetful plum I am, I put the site up with SHQ's backgrounds still intact, and the fans of said Sonic site immediately assumed the worst. Well, back to what happened... S_H and I decided to do a cheeky plug on the Sonic HQ's Mobius Forums... turns out that backfired, for a start. As soon as you could say 'Irony', loads of SHQ fans started snapping at us, accusing us of the worst, without giving us a chance to explain ourselves (which, I have just done so above, so there ya go). Vector [SHQ owner] was cool about the whole situation though, and for that, I thank him and to the small minority of the SHQ MoFo members there (there was only one other person other than Vector) to be understanding and give us a chance rather than act like an idiot - like the rest of the board members that were acting irrational towards us. I found it disgusting that the members, who collectively have a reputation of being one of the most understanding communities out there, didn't even give us a chance to explain what really happened. I appreciate what the good-natured guys like Vector did for us, but as for the rest of them... they need their issues sorted, sharpish-like. I was getting annoyed by the whole ordeal by this time... and the site had only been up a week! A few days later, I have a right go at one of my own SSMB members - who's only purpose (it seemed to us) was to criticise everything we said or did. I had had enough and blasted at him. That... was when I regretted it. I don't know how they arrived there - I'm not saying the SSMB user rounded them up or anything of the sort - but suddenly about 16 Sonic HQ MoFo members had invaded the SSMB and were spamming there like crazy! Talk about immature. And to top it off, it was on a Sunday - when I'm not on the computer, so S_H was the only one holding the fort down there. On the Monday I saw the damage and all, and thought it was time to apologise. On the MoFo I said sorry for the outrage I seemingly had unleashed onto my Message Board... however I was not sorry for actually trying to start another Sonic website with my friend, and be ridiculed by idiots who wouldn't listen to us for one second. We got it all out of the way, and bizarrely, I'm now pals with many of the MoFo guys who invaded us in the first place. O_O It's weird how life goes, eh? But, without a shadow of a doubt, this must have been the worst 2 months of my Internet Life, of the 2 years I've been 'existing' online. Won't be doing much anytime soon. Need to take a break.
  4. The new and improved version of the Online Store is up, with easier navigation and updated links. Expect more to be added later today to other great Online stores.

  6. The 23rd of June, and our visitors love SSNG! We're so proud of what we've achieved. And, after his recent interview with Zifei, founder of none other than Sonic HQ, Sonic_Hedgehogs and I were offered proper website hosting! S_H had told him that we had visions of being the top Sonic site, and Zifei said that he was getting new hosting that he's paying for, with unlimited space, bandwidth, the works. He thought it best to share the love with us, and we are dead chuffed to say the least. We are really appreciating all our new fans and interest. Thank you! SSNG Site Design (click to enlarge)
  7. Hi there - expecting The Sonic Stadium or Sonic News here, were you? Wondering where Andrew's and Dreadknux's sites have gone? Well, you're looking at them! Dread and Andrew have become such massive buddies over the past year, that we decided to 'merge' both Sonic News and The Sonic Stadium - together! All the greatness you'd expect from a double team combo such as us two. The best thing is, none of the original site's content has gone to waste during the making of this precious collaboration. That means, you'll still see Sonic Stadium favourites such as Ask Dr. Dre(ad), The Sonic Fan Club and Sega Sonic Radio, and you'll still get to view the latest News, Information and Artwork - just a few of the things that made Sonic News what it is today. 8. We have finally landed on your screens! The Sonic Stadium News Group takes off, and promises a lot of coolness! To all of you that have just visited, welcome. Launched on the date of 23rd June, which is Sonic's birthday no less, this Sonic site is something special indeed. It is the result of months of hard work from webmasters Dreadknux and Sonic_Hedgehogs, after they decided that two of the most popular up-and-rising websites, The Sonic Stadium and Sonic News, should be merged together. This is what you see here - two of the coolest Sonic sites, mixed together in all one package. Now there is no need to go to any other place for better Sonic information - Dreadknux covers the Games Reviews, and Sonic_Hedgehogs gets the general information sorted, while Fans can submit their own reviews. But, there is a looooooot more hidden away within our walls than just Sonic Games. Oh yes. To tell about ALL of them would take too much space, so we suggest you find out for yourselves about the most of it - we have worked hard to innovate and to bring the best of Sonic into one website. SSNG's Site Design (click image to enlarge) Some of the best bits you'll find at SSNG will be: The Interviews, where Sonic_Hedgehogs and Dread talk exclusively to the biggest guys in the Sonic Online Community The Sonic Fan Club, which is the former Sonic Stadium's resident Fan Fair, now reaching incredible heights; no-one Fan Fair can hold so much: remember to submit your projects for the SFC Downloads Zone, which includes the Music Zone also, where there's no better place for Sonic goods, and is updated all the time Exclusive links with other cool websites such as SonicVerse Team and EspioKaos.com, which involve SSNG getting the latest midis from John Weeks (fantastic guy) and the exclusive-to-SSNG Sega Magazine, created by SVT. Of course, there is tons of talent hidden between the two heads of SSNG to more than entertain you. Sonic_Hedgehogs is one of the most informative guys there is on Sonic and Sonic Team, and loads of new and innovative sections to SSNG will be made in the future because of this guy. On the other hand, Dreadknux is also a dab hand when it comes to innovation, as his recent track record shows - The Sonic Fan Club, Sega Sonic Radio, The Sonic Site Awards, the SAGE exclusives and many more fantastic events will be made in the future, and are all the brainwork of Dread himself. Better yet, all of these are the exclusive property of SSNG. You won't find better updates between the excitement of that next Sonic Team game! We're starting to leak all of the good surprises, so we'll draw this introduction to the website to a close. Be sure to visit SSNG's resident Message Board, The Sega Sonic Message Board where you can chat about anything, and if you want to you can Sign or View the SSNG Guestbook too. The first SSNG Competition, where you can win loads of Exclusive SAGE 2002 goodies is also going on - HURRY UP if you want to win the goods! Expect SSNG to be updated many times a week with little things as well, so don't worry about this place dying out with unoriginal stuff ^_^ See ya! ~ The SSNG Team, Dreadknux & Sonic_Hedgehogs

  11. 14. Thank you! 16. ~ The SSNG Team, Dreadknux & Sonic_Hedgehogs View full story
  17. OK, it's 'Announcement Time' with everyone's favourite echidna. Erm, yes. ^^ Right, first off: Sonic Battle Stadium Season II. Creation of the new season's rules are well underway and should be finished very soon. I'm hoping to launch the new Season next week - probably Saturday. New things to expect in the battles: Items; Weapons; more Element-based battling; Battle Variations such as Team Battles and Sudden Death matches; Boss Matches; Item purchasing and Trading between fellow battlers; and even the opportunity to create a Battle Variation based on your own rules (as long as they are easy to comprehend, and don't stray too far from the basic rules). I'm hoping to implement an 'Adventure' feature too, separate from the Battling part - it will give players Special Items when they complete the Adventures available, and is set more like an RPG adventure based on the SBS, rather than straight out battling (although the battling is key and the whole point of the SBS). The best bit? I've successfully done away with the crappy Level Up System - this ties in very nicely with the Items system, which has been primarily implemented to replace it. More details when the new SBS is launched next week. Also, expect the actual watching audience to play a part in battles as well... Sonic Stadium News Group OK, the second announcement of the day/week/month/whatever. If you hadn't plainly noticed, there's a new Sonic site doing the rounds, and will be nearing completion soon. That site is called the Sonic Stadium News Group (SSNG), and since our first announcement in February, you would not believe the amount of support for this new site! People have been offering exclusive stuff, advertising the site on their own website, and talking about it, saying that it could even crush Sonic HQ and TSSZ! I wouldn't go that far, but Andrew (Sonic_Hedgehogs) and I are hoping that you'll like it. For those that do not know, SSNG is a collaboration between the two excellent websites - The Sonic Stadium and Sonic News. Open since 2000, the two webmasters decided to team up and kick some real ass - Zifei has even offered us webspace as soon as September, so we'll be moving with any luck from Angelfire as soon as we make a successive impact. The date of SSNG is.... JUNE 23rd, as already announced. That means that Sonic's birthday will also be a time to celebrate the SSNG launch, and loadsa people'll be invited both here, and chat rooms to enjoy the supreme launch of it all. Furthermore, with SSNG becoming the centre force for all of my creations as well (i.e. Sega Sonic Radio, Sonic Fan Club), the Sega Sonic Message Board will be, as of June 23rd, the OFFICIAL MESSAGE BOARD OF SSNG! Much like the Mobius Forum for Sonic HQ, only we kick ass.......... just joking, I like the MoFo actually. ^_- But, that can only be excellent news for us lot - more and more people will start visiting SSMB, because it'll be directly tied to SSNG! That's not all. June 23rd, if you recall, was the re-launch of the Sonic Stadium website last year, and with that, the launch of four new Sonic Stadium elements. Sega Sonic Radio The Sonic Site Awards The Sonic Fan Club The Sega Sonic Message Board So, not only will June 23rd THIS YEAR be the launch of SSNG, it'll also be the FIRST BIRTHDAY of: Sega Sonic Radio (Radio Station - http://listen.to/segasonic) The Sonic Site Awards (began in 2001, now coming back for 2002! The BIGGEST Sonic Awards ceremony on the net!) The Sonic Fan Club (the biggest Sonic Fan Fair online - home to hoaxes, Fan Games, Fan Fics, Fan Art and more!) AAAAAAND, SSMB! Take a bow, because on that very day it'll be the SSMB's first birthday, as well as the other three above, and you'll be a part of the launch and the birthday celebrations! Heh, also, it's my birthday on the 30th June... so many birthdays!!! ^__^ So...... prepare yourselves, as the SSMB will soon be entering a new era, an era with SSNG, and with its first year almost behind us, the future is certainly looking rosy. I couldn't have been doing this without @Andrew P, so *salutes* I salute you sir! ^.^ Right, that's about it for the announcements - June 23rd, important date (SSNG opening, Birthday of SSR, SFC, SSMB and SSA), and SSMB = Official SSNG Message Board. Oh, and Season II of SBS.

  19. Hee hee! The time is almost upon us! SSNG is soon to be unveiled in a matter of a month! Here's the lowdown for those that don't know what SSNG is: There has been some rumours about a new Sonic site emerging. The first announcement of this came from TSSZ, when Sonic News and The Sonic Stadium, both very respected Sonic fan sites, closed down for no apparent reason, unexpectedly. As far back as last month however, we (being Sonic_Hedgehogs and Dreadknux) happily announced that Sonic News and The Sonic Stadium were not dead - far from it - in fact, we revealed that we are going to MERGE the two sites together, which is great news for everyone. This project is still in production, and is due to be unleashed to the public later next month - in June. The name for the new website is called The Sonic Stadium News Group - or SSNG for short. This will be a Fan Site, but not just any fan site - people who have had a peek at it have been so confident in its success, they have said it will become one of the most popular Sonic sites in no time! That's some praise. Sonic_Hedgehogs and Dreadknux, being good pals for a long time, decided that there wasn't much point in competing with each other, so instead they are teaming up. With SSNG, no stone will be unturned in the quest to provide the latest and greatest Sonic information. You may be wondering why this event will be very important, and why many people will be talking about it? Well, here's just a small selection of the new and merged features that will be present in this MASSIVE site: Dedicated 'SSNG NewsDesk', straight from Sonic News, which will get you the top stories in the Sonic community! Exclusive SSNG Interviews with the people who count in the Sonic online community, such as Dan Drazen and Artie! Chats with the greatest, that you'll only find at SSNG! SSNG Specials, where every event is placed into a large feature. A 'Games' section (where would a Sonic site be without one of these?) including info on EVERY single Sonic (and Sonic Team-created) game. No exaggeration. Cheats, Codes, Guides, FAQs, and an exclusive Ask Dr. Dre(ad) panel for visitors who get truly stuck on something Sonic. The largest collection of images in the known universe. Well, maybe not, but there's a fair few. Comics, downloads, and much more! EXCLUSIVE items only found at SSNG, such as Sega Sonic Radio (the most popular newcoming Sonic Radio Station), The Sonic Site Awards, and the Sonic Fan Club, where ANYTHING that fans can make in fandom of Sonic go - Fan Games, Art, Hoaxes, Fics etc - the largest Fan Fair to date! Like the sound of that? Think of a really cool-looking site, splash a load of blue colour and coolness on it, and you haven't even got half of SSNG! SSNG's current page can be found the same way as you used to access Sonic News and the Sonic Stadium: http://come.to/sonicstadium http://www.sonicnews.org/ Keep checking there for the Latest News and dates. If you run a Sonic News Station (i.e. TSSZ, or a section of your site that does Sonic news), then please announce this special occasion on your News section also. This would help tremendously. Thank you very much indeed. If you have any questions, or want to support SSNG's launch, then please email me back - I'm never busy to chat! I just really hope you will enjoy SSNG when the site is launched next month. Just a side note - on June 30th, it is The Sonic Site Awards, The Sonic Fan Club's, and Dreadknux's birthday! That's right, the SSA and SFC would have been entertaining the Sonic Online Community for a whole year! Online Comments: SSMB ezBoard

Online Comments: SSMB ezBoard View full story
