I could fill this update with various Silver puns, but to be honest it’s no use so on with the article.
First4Figures have announced that their Silver the Hedgehog statue will go on sale next week.
Tuesday 21st February is the date the statue goes on sale. The time’s are as follows,
- California: 7am
- New York: 10am
- London: 3pm
- Germany: 4pm
- Hong Kong: 11pm
(We think all the times are in GMT, as far as we know it’s a worldwide release so just convert your time using one of the above if your country/region isn’t listed).
We’ve also been told the prices of each version of the statue, it breaks down as follows.
Standard Edition: $249.99
Exclusive Edition: $284.99
Prices do not include shipping.
There’s also a video showcasing the statue in more detail, including the lighting effect on the exclusive edition.
Another small detail is that there are no set numbers for each statue, this time they make to order.
So… anyone going to order one?
So in the new Entertainment Earth product catalogue, there’s a listing for GE Entertainments new Silver the Hedgehog plush. Only there’s a slight problem with the description.
… … how is that..?
Ok lets take it slowly. First of all, they’ve used the classic Sonic logo for a modern Sonic character, which to be fair is an easy mistake to make.
However… Silver the Hedgehog is now the evil boss of the Scrambled Egg Zone and he’s also a robot? A robot version of Sonic for that matter too.
Oh wait, I see the problem. They would appear to believe that this character is actually a robot version of Sonic, specifically Silver Sonic, from the Game Gear version of Sonic 2!
Well I suppose it’s an easy mistake to make, after all just look at how…
…They look look nothing like each other?
Thanks to Blue Blood who sent this in.
UPDATE: We also have the above piece of new artwork from CBBC Newsround. (Thanks to SSMB member Neon for the heads up!)
As well as story intro spoilers for Sonic Generations, SEGA Japan has today also released some other new assets, including new artwork for Rival character Silver the Hedgehog and new enemy Time Eater, new Xbox 360/PS3 & PC screenshots for Sky Sanctuary Zone and new 3DS screenshots for Emerald Coast.
You can view them all in our gallery.
Thanks to SSMB members The Dead Skin and Torcano Sanctuary for the heads up!
Via the official Sonic the Hedgehog Facebook page, SEGA has just revealed that Silver the Hedgehog will be a rival in Sonic Generations. Five new screenshots have been released showcasing Modern Sonic’s battle in Crisis City with the psychic hedgehog from the future. You can check all of them out below.

While browsing London’s Forbidden Planet store, SSMB member Gnasher came across a humorous Silver figure. The ultra rare “Pingas” edition.
P.S. In case anyone really can’t tell, that’s Silver’s tail. The body must have gotten twisted during packing with hilarious results.
Just in time for Christmas Sega of Japan has seen fit to spruce up the Sonic Channel website. While no significantly new content has been added some English has crept onto the site for everyone not fluent in Japanese and everything is looking quite a lot better than it did before.
New content you can check out now include some festive fan art and if you haven’t seen it already Silver The Hedgehog has gotten the Sonic Channel Wallpaper treatment for the month of December. A new Sonic pose has been posted as line art for your colouring pleasure and Sega have also included some great little Sonic scribbles in the form of a letter set and book cover for you to print off.
If you’ve not checked the site for a while of if you’ve never heard of it now’s your chance. I’ll give you a tip though; all the fun stuff is in the ‘Enjoy’ section of the site. Happy hunting!

Jazwares just keep them coming don’t they! Wave two of the 3″ figures are reportedly hitting the shelves of Toys R’ Us state-side, with the line-up including Silver the Hedgehog, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic the Werehog. If you want to see some pictures of them out of the packet head over to the Sonic Stadium Message board, where SSMB’er Aquaslash has been kind enough to post up some pictures.
Finally, we can now get our hands on a Silver the hedgehog we can play with, rather than having to make our own. Personally I think they’re a little on the chunky side, but there again if you’re going to make figures that size, you’re going to loose detail for posability.
Thanks to Foxwhisker for the heads up!
TSS took to the snow with the 2010 Olympic Winter Games hopeful and Half-Pipe Snowboarder extraordinaire Ben Kilner to watch some spectacular stunts on the slopes at Manchester’s massive indoor snow slope Chill FactorE. We also got a taste of the action, and another sneaky peek and play at some more of the up-and-coming Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games title for the Nintendo Wii!
