Talkin’ Bout a Sonic Revolution: We Visit the 2019 Fan Convention

Every year in June, Sonic fans and press alike (and the guys at The Sonic Stadium happen to be both!) descend unto the arid, star-studded land of Los Angeles to take on the ‘Video Gaming Superbowl’ that is E3. But, every year, on the Sunday before E3 festivities begin, there’s a whole other party happening in the same city just for Sonic fans. Sonic & Tails wish Sonic a happy birthday, guest starring Ryan Drummond!

A person with the name of FlutterTreeMuffin on YouTube teamed up with Ryan himself to bring you the above video featuring Sonic and Tails. It’s a really sweet gesture and a wonderful treat to hear Ryan behind the mic as Sonic even if it’s unofficially again after so long (he did play as Sonic on camera in an interview not that long ago).

For reference, Ryan voiced Sonic starting from Sonic Adventure on DC in 1999, and ending with Sonic Advance 3 on GBA in 2004.

Thanks Flutter and Ryan for the video! 🙂

SAGE 2008 IS NOW OPEN!

IT’S FINALLY HERE! THE 2008 SONIC AMATEUR GAMES EXPO IS HERE!

We invite any and all Sonic fans to come to the 13th iteration of this long-standing, Sonic community tradition, hosted by one of the community’s original sites, Sonic Fan Games HQ. Play the latest and greatest fan projects all in one place for one glorious week of celebrating not only Sonic the Hedgehog, but our community as well.

Please, hop right into the chat room, look at the schedule, and just read everything there is to read about the show! It’s going to be great!

A word of warning about certain booths: Sunday is usually the slowest day for the booths section, as dead links will be weeded out and some people will be putting up their demos throughout the day, due to time zone differences. Bear with that fact, because it happens every year. Come Monday, everybody should be ready to roll.

Be sure to check here for TSS Staff’s input on all the fangaming action!

With that said…

Ryan Drummond to be voicing Sonic in Brawl? [UPDATE] No!

UPDATE: A quote by Ryan himself has surfaced (you can see it in the comments):

Nope. No one has contacted me or my agent about doing ANY kind of voice work for SSBB. Spread the word. 🙂

And there you have it! Hopefully, any rumors of Griffith’s disappearance have been debunked, now. 😉 Continue reading Ryan Drummond to be voicing Sonic in Brawl? [UPDATE] No!

Sonic Voiceover Cast Replaced

Ryan Drummond, voice actor for Sonic the Hedgehog in the SONICTEAM games for the last five years, has revealed to the Sonic community about his replacement by Jason Griffith from the ‘SONIC X’ cast.

In an email he has sent to fans ahead of his monthly newsletter on RyanDrummond.com, Drummond has explained how SEGA made a decision to replace the entire Game Voiceover Cast of the Sonic games with the Voiceover Cast from the US Dub ‘SONIC X’ cartoon, without letting him know about it. In a shock, if perhaps inevitable direction by the ‘House of Sonic’, the company felt that the move would maintain a level of continuity between the games and other products, such as the cartoon series.
