  1. SNK discontinued their Neo Geo Pocket Color handheld a while back and had quite a bit unopened consoles and games in warehouses, so instead of letting them go to waste, they're re-releasing them in bundles. Below are the bundles, the second one includes Sonic Pocket Adventure. First Bundle: Console and six games (Pac-man, Turf Masters, King of Fighters R2, Samurai Showdown 2, Metal Slug First Mission, and Fatal Fury F-Contact) for $79.99. Second Bundle: Sonic Pocket Adventure and Puzzle Bobble, SNK vs. Capcom with Last Blade for $39.99. Get yourself a good bargain while you can!
  2. The trial version of Gamecube card-battling RPG, Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution is right around the corner in Japan, and to celebrate Sonic Team and SEGA have produced a limited number of PSO-themed playing cards for fans to purchase. Featuring characters and imagery from PSO Episode I & II, the 'Premium Playing Cards' pack will only be available at the Japanese 'Sonic Factory' online store and until stocks last. SEGA hasn't mentioned how many packs they have available, so if you're interested I'd recommend you try and get one as soon as possible. The cards include designs of not only the main playable characters in the online RPG series, but also of 'story characters' such as boss monsters, enemies and NPCs that have been integral to the games' storyline. As you can see from the images, the cards look really neat. Sonic Factory will be selling this item from Thursday August 7, and you can keep an eye on the Store page here to ensure you are able to snag a copy.
  3. SEGA has struck a deal with US retailer Target to exclusively sell Sonic Pinball Party in the country. If you live in the US and are looking for a copy of the GBA spinoff, which released there about a week ago, you won't be able to find it anywhere else. The news came from IGNpocket, who contacted SEGA after hearing that many fans couldn't find the game on store shelves. According to IGN, "Exclusivity isn't a new thing in the videogame world, as retailers have worked with publishers to offer specific games that can only be purchased from that particular store. Sonic Pinball Party is part of that "exclusive" club." Representatives from SEGA confirmed the exclusivity by sending IGN the following statement. "Target has been a phenomenal retail partner in regards to the Sonic series as a whole. And we wanted to utilize that history and momentum to maximize sales of Sonic Pinball Party, specifically at Target stores." If you usually shop for your games at GameStop, you might need to expand your search to your nearest Target after all.
  4. Thanks to everyone's favorite source of Sonic merch information... Target's internal systems, we now know for sure what will be the next four figures for Sonic Prime Wave 4! Image credit: Sonic Merch News To tie into this latest batch of Sonic Prime, we see the arrival of Alpha Grim Sonic to represent The Grim. Sonic with the water-running shoes and Batten Rouge representing No Place. And everyone's favorite Brooklyn Vincent Tong accent with an Echidna attached to it, Renegade Knux being the sole New Yoke character for this wave. A noteworthy aspect about this wave is that Alpha Grim Sonic will be Prime's first use of a recolored figure, being a palette swap for Chaos Sonic only one wave further. Everything else since is either a new mold, or at the very least a retool of an existing figure with significant molding changes like with Sonic. Are Jakks resorting to more recolors already? Will Prismatic Sonic be in the cards after all, before we even got anyone from the mainline universe in the Prime line? Will we ever get the Prime Amy and her revised dress? With the recent leak of mainline 5 inch figures, only time will tell. Seems like Jakks is already preparing to leave Prime behind but still continue with 5 inch figures. What do you all think? 6. 2024 has arrived, so there's a lot of questions in the air about what plans are in store for the Sonic franchise. Yes, there's more Sonic Prime episodes coming next week, and there will probably be some kind of game release not too far off from the release of the third Sonic movie. But what about merchandise? There's been a steady stream of this for quite a while now. Well, thanks to some leaks from Target and a new line of Jakks Pacific figures, it's looking like we're already starting to get an answer! A bunch of Sonic merchandise has been found in Target's internal system. It is worth noting that all of the leaked products come from Jakks Pacific, and most of them are part of sets. It is also worth noting that there isn't really any pictures of these items yet, so all we have to go on, for now, are some basic information. So, with that all said, let's get started! The first Jakks Pacific leaked set is a “Go Go Racer” Playset featuring Sonic the Hedgehog, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna and Amy Rose in their modern forms. Nothing else about this is known at this time, but if the name is obviously any indicator, vehicles are probably going to be involved. Whether they'll be vehicles based on ones that the characters have driven in previous games is yet to be determined. The second set involves 2.5 inch figures. Vector the Crocodile is featured here, but you may be surprised to hear that the other 3 are all badniks. To be more specific, they're Caterkiller, Eggrobo and Ball Ho. These will come in mainline waves and will not be checkline exclusives. The third set has even more uncertainty than the first set! It's the first wave of a set of 5 inch figures, but only 3 of the 4 figures are known. Sonic, Tails and Shadow the Hedgehog are mentioned, but there's no information on the 4th, only that it's an "unknown character". The 4th and final leaked set is the one that is the most interest. It's a wave of 4 inch figures. There will be a re-release of Amy Rose with a Yellow Chaos Emerald, but it isn't known whether it'll be Modern Amy or Classic Amy. Silver the Hedgehog is also included, and he comes with a Yellow Checkpoint. Lastly is a figure called "New Metal with Wand". There is absolutely no information about this third figure, and it isn't even known if there's a 4th figure in this wave, similar to the other sets. Fortunately, if all this talk of leaks is getting old, there is some actual official releases to talk about as well. New information about the 15th wave of the Jakks Pacific toy line recently surfaced, courtesy of a video review by YouTuber SonicAndTheBeansShow. This wave includes 4 inch figures of Mephiles, Classic Super Sonic, Shadow and Heavy Gunner. Heavy Gunner comes with a rocket launcher, a Classic red spring will be with Classic Super Sonic, and Mephiles the Dark will include a purple aura base. The figures cost $9.99 each in select United States retailers. As for whether the rest of the Hard-Boiled Heavies will get figures too, there are leaks suggesting that Metal Sonic 3.0 and Heavy King will be coming soon in future waves. So, we'll see. 8. Fellow fans, it's that time of year again - it appears a number of retailers have broken the street date of Sonic Superstars, with some eager gamers getting a hold of copies ahead of its official October 17 launch. The above images were posted to social media by user "One2Switcheroo", who obtained a copy of the Nintendo Switch version. "Yes, it’s the real deal. No, Im not gonna dump it. If you visit your local mom and pop shop, you might get lucky," they wrote. This isn't the first time that a Sonic game (or a SEGA game, for that matter) has broken street date. While it's nice for some lucky fans to get their hands on a copy of the game early, it's depressing for the rest of the community that they won't have a chance to join in the launch fun - and worse, even potentially get major sections of the game spoiled for them. As always, please be careful about the content you may see on social media and other platforms between now and October 17. If you're wanting a total blackout from the Sonic Superstars chat, stay with us at the Sonic Stadium - while there will no doubt be spoiler discussions about the game flying around, our community will make sure that anything that might be considered a spoiler will be encased in spoiler tags... ... so you won't get anything ruined.
