SEGA Europe PSO Episode I & II, Sonic Adventure DX Will Be First SEGA Europe Self-Published Titles
Dreadknux posted a story in SEGA
SEGA recently revealed that it was returning to self-publishing its games in Europe, and ever since then we've been waiting eagerly for that day to come. The first title to be published by SEGA Europe will be Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II in May, followed closely by Sonic Adventure DX and Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution in June. Since SEGA dropped out of the hardware market, Infogrames and THQ have been sharing duties in publishing certain SEGA titles in the West. While SEGA of America's office was still active, SEGA Europe ceased publishing operations entirely... until PSO I & II's release in May, that is. SEGA will open up offices in both London and Paris to manage the publishing duties across PAL territories. That means not just UK and France, but rest of Europe, Australia and New Zealand too. "Sega Europe is now in a position to get closer to the European games market, with its own publishing operation," SEGA Europe president Naoya Tsurumi said in a report on Gamespot. "The transition from hardware manufacturer to software publisher is now complete, and we see the next few years as an incredibly exciting time for growth for Sega Europe." Fitting for us that the first games to launch under the SEGA Europe label will be Sonic Team-developed titles. We can't wait!-

It sounds like SEGA is in a bit more of a stable situation since exiting the console business a year or so ago, as according to a new report the company is interested in purchasing some third-party publishers to add to its list of development studios. According to a story on Reuters (via Gamespot), the House of Sonic is mostly looking towards publishers in the West - North America and Europe - in an attempt to "strengthen its position in the market and move it closer to the achievement of its goal to be the top publisher in the world." THQ and Infogrames, two publishers that have had close connections with SEGA in the past, are name-checked as potential acquisition targets, but one company that is apparently ruled out is FIFA publisher Electronic Arts. This may be great news for SEGA and its growth as a third-party publisher. We'll let you know if anything comes of this.

*If this is in the wrong forum mods please move* So I've been writing a story for about two years and have only now settled on a clear vision for characters, plot, setting, etc. However I've become interested in serial publishing since it offers me a chance to communicate with readers while I'm writing the book itself, making me aware of any plot holes, character inconsistencies and the like. I'm currently trying to find an avenue to publish it but most website either don't have enough traffic or are quite rigid and demanding(Amazon). Anyway, has anyone else tried their hand at this method? If so discuss. It'd be nice to know I'm not agonizing alone.
