Tonight, Paramount held a special press event to celebrate the upcoming launch of its Sonic movie spinoff TV series, 'Knuckles'. A gaggle of press and media were invited to London's Leicester Square, the bustling home of movie premieres, to experience a segment of the show - and maybe catch a glimpse of megastar Idris Elba in the process. We would have gone to this ourselves, but it seems that someone at Paramount lost our invite in the mail, or accidentally fed it to their dog or something. Oh well, there's always next time! In the meantime, check out some cool photos from the event below. Photo by 'MoZoneMo' Attendees got to experience a portion of the six-hour episodic adventure in the best way possible - with a massive cinema screen! You can see an image above to get a sense of the scale here. There were also opportunities to meet and greet with certain special guests, as well as a wandering Knuckles mascot that posed for photos! Idris Elba, famed actor and voice of Knuckles the Echidna, took the time to hit the red carpet and engage in some interviews with the press. Elba seemed in quite good spirits throughout the entire event - it's clear that he had a lot of fun working on this project with Paramount. Knuckles (the red one) also had a lot of fun mincing about the venue, taking photos with cast, crew and attendees alike. There was nowhere this echidna wouldn't go to photobomb - he truly had an all-access pass for the event! Photo by 'Sergi_ND' Finally, as attendees were getting ready to sit down and enjoy the show inside, the press were still scrambling for photos with the cast and crew - and one eagle-eyed watcher managed to catch the moment where Adam Pally (Wade Whipple) gave Idris Elba a loving embrace on the red carpet. Sonic Prime has certainly had an…interesting media cycle since Netflix accidentally announced it early nearly two years ago. That seems set to continue with how its first episode will debut: within the Sonic Roblox game, Sonic Simulator. The episode will premiere within the game at 10AM EST/7AM PST on December 10, in what’s been coined a “Global Virtual Premiere Event.” This announcement came via Netflix’s Twitter account. The first episode of Sonic X aired in Japan last week, and already some dedicated fans have managed to record a copy of the show and post it on the internet for fans to download and watch for themselves. We won't share the direct link, because we're not entirely sure that we should, but TSSZ News reports that certain online forums have started posting download links to the pilot episode. It's a big file, apparently - some 40-50 MB in size, so be sure to grab yourself a cup of coffee if you plan on downloading it for yourself. Sonic X still hasn't got an air date for the US or UK, at the time of writing this. Hopefully we'll be able to get an English language version of the show soon. View full story
