  2. Japanese retailers have begun listing the fifth DVD release of Sonic X episodes, with brand new cover art to tease what's inside. As you can see here, Sonic X DVD Volume 5 in Japan features Tails, Amy and King Boom Boo on the cover. The Hi-Spec Edition of Volume 5 will cost ¥5,040 (if you're looking to import this, this doesn't include any shipping charges so bear that in mind), and is scheduled for a release on 21st November 2003. It includes four episodes, as well as bonuses such as Sonic Heroes and Sonic Battle game introductions, 'Sonic English' and more: Episode 18 : "The Great Duel in the Savannah!" Episode 19: "King Boo, the Ghost of the Ancient Castle" Episode 20: "Sortie! Egg Fort II" Episode 21: "Speed Battle! Sonic vs. Sam" You can order it here. Meanwhile, pre-orders are also going live for Sonic X Volume 3 DVD in Japan, via SEGA Direct's online shopping site. This one will release on 25th September and will cost ¥4,800 (excluding tax). See that one here.
  3. Fans in the UK hoping to get a chance to obtain the recently-announced "Comic Style Character Skins" for Sonic Superstars are in luck - it appears that the new DLC will be included as an added pre-order bonus if bought from Amazon. Amazon listings for the game have recently been updated, to include mention of the Comic Style skins, which it notes are "exclusive" to the online retailer. So your only way of getting this is from Amazon, it seems. The above image was also added to those same Amazon listings, which also highlight another pre-order bonus of an exclusive LEGO Eggman. Sonic Superstars is currently available for pre-order across four platforms: Nintendo Switch (currently priced at £54.99), PS4 (£52.99), PS5 and Xbox consoles (funnily enough the cheapest, at £49.99 each). What do you think? It certainly beats having to earn points at some US supermarket, that's for sure. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

  5. A new version of the Sonic Superstars key art has been discovered that includes Dr. Eggman, Fang and Trip alongside the four Sonic heroes. A digital capture of the key art taken and shared by 'Sonic_Plush1' on social media The above image, posted on social media, was shared by keen-eyed user 'Sonic_Plush1' and shows the three main villains of the game posing in the most dastardly of ways. We particularly like Eggman's look here - he's not messing around! An off-screen photo taken by 'Sonic_Plush1' on social media According to Sonic City, the image appears as a splash screen for players who have already pre-ordered the game on the digital Xbox Store and try to load the application up. You won't get the game this early, but at least you get a cool looking piece of art to gawp at while you wait for October to roll around. Are you pre-ordering Sonic Superstars? Are you going to try and see if you can get this artwork to appear on your Xbox? Let us know in the comments area below! 7. If you've got a few hundred dollars burning a hole in your pocket, high-end statue designer First 4 Figures has opened pre-orders for their latest Sonic entry, this time featuring Amy Rose! The 14" (35cm) tall resin statue comes in three flavors, all three featuring Amy with her trademark hammer posing in a grassy base. The standard model ($499 USD standard, $459 with pre-order discount) includes just Amy, while the "Exclusive Edition" ($499 / $459) includes a swappable arm showing her holding an Amy Chao. The "Definitive Edition" ($549 / $499) adds an extra layer to the base with several Chao. Though pre-orders are open now, the statue itself isn't expected to ship until Q4 2023.
  8. GoodSmile Company has finally revealed the design of its upcoming Knuckles the Echidna Nendoroid figure, first announced back in February. Not only does it look super adorable, but it's also now available for pre-order on the figure company's website. The hot-headed echidna figure assumes the Modern, Sonic Adventure style look, and comes complete with a Chaos Emerald accessory and Master Emerald / Angel Island background for you to display your new collector's item most authentically. As with most Nendoroid figures, the beauty of this particular product is that Knuckles is incredibly posable. He has loads of articulation points to allow you to set any scene you like, and the modular nature of the figure also means you can swap his expressions out as well. The Knuckles set comes with three kinds of glances and three mouth parts (including grinning and gritted teeth) so you can make him happy one minute and sad the next. GoodSmile has listed a release date of January 2024 on its official website, at a price of ¥6,700 (which is currently about $47.86 USD / £37.84 GBP, but that conversion could change by the time this product releases). Pre-orders are open from today until July 13th at 12:00pm JST. So get going on it! You can pre-order the figure from the Good Smile Online Shop, Good Smile Shop US, or from the various Good Smile Partner Shops worldwide!

  10. Now's the time to put your money where your mouth is if you want to buy Sonic Adventure DX in the US. Gamestop is now taking pre-orders for the game. The retailer is running with a tentative release date of June 17th, which is a little more final than the 'Summer 2003' that we reported back in January. The game will cost $39.99 USD, and no doubt will have a similar price in other markets. Go ahead and pre-order the game on Gamestop's website here. via Sonic HQ
  11. Sonic X fans have been having a great month so far. After seeing pre-orders open for the opening theme CD single and the first DVD volume, now the chance has come to order in the CD single for the anime's ending theme as well. The track is called 'Mi-ra-i' and it's by popular boy band Run&Gun. It releases on 21st May 2023, just a week before the CD for the opening single 'Sonic Drive' comes out, will cost ¥777 (or $6.40) and comes with a first press bonus extra (which is currently unknown but will probably be some kind of poster or something). You can get it at CDJapan (English) or Neowing (Japanese). Unlike 'Sonic Drive', it doesn't look like this CD will feature any kind of Sonic branding or imagery - opting instead to simply be a standalone pop single release. But hey, these are all fine-looking Japanese men, so you'll still have something nice to look at on your CD shelf if you decide to get it. You can check out the music video for the song below.
  12. If you've already watched the first few episodes of Sonic X in Japan (either on TV or via other methods...), you're probably obsessed with the opening theme of the new anime, just like we are. 'Sonic Drive' is an absolute banger of a song, and now you can choose to pre-order the CD single so you can play it whenever you like! This might sound a bit weird, but CD single releases for TV shows is not an unusual thing in Japan. Most opening and ending themes for shows (particularly anime) are performed and produced by big Japanese pop and rock stars, and Sonic Drive is no exception with the track involving legendary Japanese musician Hironobu Kageyama and singer Hideaki Takatori. 'Sonic Drive' is available to pre-order on CDJapan (English) and Neowing (Japanese), at a price of ¥1,048 (or $9.50 USD for import). It'll release on 28th May 2023 and will feature the following tracks: SONIC DRIVE Just call me SONIC~眩しい風になれ~ SONIC DRIVE(Original Karaoke) Now if you'll excuse us, we're going to pre-order and hum the song in our heads for the next couple of weeks.

  16. A whole bunch of info came out about Sonic Frontiers today, and it’s not just what we got in the trailer. A pre-order bonus, an ”Adventurer’s Treasure Box,” will be available for anyone who pre-orders. Check out the image below: The game appears to already be listed on the PlayStation Store, with full details of a Digital Deluxe edition and prices published (which we've included below). The digital version of the game is listed as £50 / $60 for the regular edition, and £55 / $70 for the Digital Deluxe. In addition to this, the game’s Steam page has also confirmed that it will be using the infamous Denuvo anti-piracy software. Not exactly great news for anyone who was looking forward to getting it on PC. Finally, it appears anyone who signs up for the Sonic Frontiers newsletter will receive codes for free in-game content. You can sign up here.
