And now, for something completely different, here’s a quirky yet pretty cool mash-up TailsChannel put together not too long ago!
When Sonic Generations was formally announced by SEGA through a trailer showcasing Sonics classic and modern in action, many were quick to discover that the track used in the anniversary title’s first preview was Kele’s TENDERONI.
With the trailer to Sonic Lost World gone online via a pre-E3 Nintendo Direct, it was soon pointed out that the tune accompanying the video was none other than Benny Banasi and Gary Go’s Cinema.
I don’t think I have to tell you much else about what we’re showing off for Mash-Up Monday!
Don’t forget to send your mash-up tips over via email@example.com!
Nothing like kicking off the week with PUNCHING and KICKING and such! Feel like the world’s turning against you for some reason? Then RAGE!
This quaint little music mash-up was put together by foreversonic from RadioSEGA! Featuring something that most SEGA fans would enjoy, especially those of this Genesis classic, is always welcome!
Dilapidated Town from Streets of Rage with Sky High Zone from the 8-bit Sonic the Hedgehog 2!
Found an interesting mash-up somewhere on the web? Have one of your own that you’d like to see get featured on The Sonic Stadium? Then what’s the hold up? Send what you got over to firstname.lastname@example.org!
Need something fast-paced, intense, and outright crazy to start your long and dreary week? Well, we got just what you need right here on Mash-Up Monday! But, first things first…
How many of you have ever heard of Touhou?
Specifically known as Touhou Project, it is a bullet hell shooter series renowned for its high difficulty, a large cast of characters, and most of all, its crazy music! …no. Seriously. Look some of its music up on YouTube. You will not regret it.
This week, we will feature one of the most synonymous remixes of the series, Night of Nights, combined with a song sporting a much more orchestral touch, yet recognized for being fast-paced and blood-pumping: Crisis City Act 2 from Sonic Generations!
Found a really cool Sonic mash-up somewhere in the depths of the World Wide Web? Got something of your own you would like to share? If your answer to either question is “yes”, then send what you’ve got over at email@example.com!
As the title says, we’re going Daft Punk for this week’s Mash-Up Monday!
We have a pair of really cool mashups combining Daft Punk’s Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger with Sonic music! I hope all of our fans and readers around the world will enjoy this to the point where they’d just keep listening to each track one more time!
First one up is the Chemical Plant Zone mix, with Stardust Speedway Bad Future after the jump!
Found an interesting combination you would like to see on Mash-Up Monday? Have a mash-up of your own you would want featured on the Stadium? If your answer is yes, then send your wares and findings over to firstname.lastname@example.org!
It’s that time again, guys! Put on those headphones and crank up that volume as we kick the week off with Mash-Up Monday!
Today, we highlight a very unique mash-up, put together by the likes of Shadowlink4321, who’s renowned for both machinimation and music on YouTube. The two mash-ups featured today are both from the same pair of songs!
Those who follow the works of Bentley Jones just might recognize one of the two songs! He has covered one of the opening themes to the anime Shakugan no Shana, named Joint, on his “TRANS//LATION 2” album. Presented in its original form, Joint is thrown together with Sonic and the Black Knight‘s final boss theme: With Me.
However, there’s a catch! As I’ve mentioned, there are two mash-ups here… And that’s exactly it! The first version of Joint With Me is in fact With Me‘s vocals added to Joint‘s melody, and the second version (found after the jump!) highlights Joint‘s vocals (in Japanese) through With Me‘s background music!
Likely the Mash-Up Monday to end all Mash-Up Mondays (METAPHOR. Do not take this seriously!), we’ve got a real sexy piece of ear candy for you all!
Possibly one of the greatest RPGs available on the Nintendo DS, Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story brought about one of the most chaotic final showdowns ever experienced in the Mario series. In fact, it shares quite a few similarities with that of Sonic the Hedgehog 2‘s Death Egg Robot.
For one, both battles take place in an isolated area on top of the world: one being on a tower atop Peach’s Castle, another being in the colossal Death Egg orbiting the planet.
Secondly, being final showdowns, the fate of the world rests on the heroes’ shoulders. Sonic chases Eggman through emerald hills and metropolises to thwart his dastardly efforts of taking over the world for the second time, without the bare essentials to keep him alive for longs (rings); Bowser, with the intention of ruling the Mushroom Kingdom in the future, takes on a Dark Star-created, destruction craving clone of himself in a battle of the titans, while Mario and Luigi destroy Fawful and the Dark Star Core from inside Bowser’s body. All sorts of chaos is happening in both scenarios.
And three, with final bosses comes FANTASTIC BACKGROUND MUSIC.
Hence, I am happy to share with you all the most glorious mash-up to hit TSS. Combining the final boss themes from Bowser’s Inside Story and Sonic 2 (with a little bit of Super Mario Galaxy on the side), we present to you:
“Bowser vs Robotnik”!
Mashed up by Hauntershadow! Special thanks to PC the Hedgehog for the find!
A little over a month ago, another music legend has passed.
MCA (aka Adam Yauch), a member the renowned hip hop trio known as the Beastie Boys, lost his life to cancer on May 4th. He died at the age of 47.
You might recall Alien/Renegade, one of many musicians who contributed to The Sonic Stadium Music Album. For Mash-Up Monday, he has prepared a trio of mixes consisting of music from the Beastie Boys, all of which being featured here today.
We present to you “An Open Letter to Rusty Ruins”, “Wacky Body Movin”, and “Here’s a Little Final Haunt for Ya”. Enjoy!
Good afternoon, do-gooders! Today is Monday, and you all know what that means! It’s time for some more mash-ups! And not just any kind of mash-ups, no! Hope you’ve had some on your toast this morning, because if you haven’t, get ready to be blasted with a hefty dose of slam jam!
For today’s Slam-Up Jamday, Slamnic and Miles “Jam” Prower explore the depths of Angel Jamland’s Slam-o-City Zone before tackling the Balloon Slam, found after the jump. Get your Jamnesis ready!
…kinda disappointed that there’s no Ice Jam Zone out there.
Yo! Hey! Hiya! Thanks for comin’, great to see you!
…okay, well, that’s about all that I have to say.
Alighty, kidding aside, welcome to a very special Mash-Up Monday, everybody! We’ve got quite a unique haul for you today, though readers bearing unstable souls are recommended not to subject themselves to the following mash-ups. Should you experience any given sign of insanity or madness, please do close the tab and look up something soothing, like adorable kittens!
This week, we’ve got a total of four music combinations, all pertaining to the Soul Eater anime’s soundtrack! First one up is “Wisp Blitz”, a combination of Planet Wisp from Sonic Colours and “Blitz”!
The three remaining mash-ups are all found after the jump.
…wait, wait, no! Not “slamjam“, you got me all wrong! What I mean is “Jellyfish Jam”!
That’s right, we’re going down to Bikini Bottom, to the absorbent, yellow and porous sponge living under the sea, for this week’s Mash-Up Monday! “Jellyfish Jam” from Spongebob Squarepants combines with Speed Highway Act 1 from Sonic Generations.
I hope this makes up for what I’ve put you all through on Friday… but who am I kidding? I love torturing you guys every once in a while!
Tune in for additional jams next week!
Found an interesting mash-up somewhere on the net? Mashed one together yourself? If you’ve answered yes to either of these questions, then send them over to email@example.com!
You’ve been tuning in to either the radio, or maybe a few albums lying around the house. A person seated next to you might have her music on full volume from their iPods. There’s no denying that Adele is definitely one of the most popular artists in recent history, and it shows: it is almost foolhardy to escape or even drown out her music these days.
Get it? Drown out?
Well, you should be able to get it now, because Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” collides with Acts 1 and 2 of Hydrocity Zone, the famous and fan-favourite water level from Sonic 3 & Knuckles, for this week’s Mash-Up Monday!
Here’s Act 1! Take the water slide down to Act 2 after the jump!
Just as on Saturday, we have a Sonic Colours-centric Mash-Up Monday as we bring you a very special guest, providing us a very special mash-up!
Some of you might recall the name DJ EAR. Whether it is for his musical contributions to The Sonic Stadium Music Album or the brawler fan game Super Sonic Knockout, this artist has a massive talent for music. One such display of his prowess is a mash-up compiling various tracks of Sonic Colours, highlighting every zone and then some, appropriately titled “Every Colour Has A Sound”.
You won’t have to guess which tracks in specific have been used; the songs used are listed on screen as they play. Very cool!
Found an interesting mash-up? Made one of your own? If you’ve answered yes to either question, then send them over to firstname.lastname@example.org!
…or, alternatively, Sonic the Hedgehog meets Skrillex for the weekly Mash-Up Monday! Sonic 2‘s Chemical Plant Zone clashes with the famed dubstep artist’s “Disco Rangers” and “Lazy Eye” tracks. Quite the piece of ear-candy!
Hello readers, and welcome back to a special second edition of Slam-Up Jamday! If the rumours circulating around SASASR2 don’t add your needed slam jam on your morning toast, then this surely will!
Like its predecessor, this week’s Mash-Up Monday brings you another batch of Sonic music mashed up with Quad City DJs’ infamous “Space Jam”, the main theme for the movie bearing the same name. As you may have guessed, we’re looking at a couple of slam-ups with famous tunes from Sonic Adventure 2!
With that out of the way, dust off your SEGA Jamcast as we continue to follow the adventures of Slamnic the Hedgehog and friends!
Now, back to adventure! *badum-TSH*
The Lost Slam Colony!
If you’re still itching for an extra jam, catch “Live and Slam” after the jump!
“Champion”, from the anime series Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, is thrown together with the four introductory Sonic levels from the Genesis era for this week’s Mash-Up Monday! I have to say, the mash-up does quite well in weaving Green Hill, Emerald Hill, Angel Island, and Palmtree Panic together. They all fit quite seamlessly!
Keep in mind that, although the song involved isn’t the case, the source material is very NSFW as it contains adult themes and the like. You were warned, readers!
This week’s Mash-Up Monday provides you with yet another Michael Jackson/Sonic mash-up… through an interesting combination that hasn’t even been tried until now! MJ’s “Thriller” meets Mystic Mansion from Sonic Heroes in “Michael’s Mansion”!
Quite fitting, I’d have to say! Makes sense considering the tropes of both songs!
Welcome to a very special edition of Mash-Up Monday! After last week’s magical mash-ups, we found something that’s bound to be a slam for all of you! I hope you’re ready, because this week’s mash-ups are simply jamming!
Just like its fellow songs that work with just about anything (LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem”, “Guile’s Theme” from Street Fighter, the theme to TheFresh Prince of Bel-Air), Quad City DJ’s “Space Jam” is another tune that mashes with just about any song. Sonic music is of no exception!
That being said, let’s boot up the SEGA Jamnesis and begin our journey in the shoes of Slamnic the Hedgehog and Miles “Jam” Prower! Slam-Up Jamday Act 1: the checkered emerald basketball court of Green Slam Zone!
Sorry readers, but with me around and this particular subject’s ever-growing popularity on the internet, this was bound to happen at some point! Whether you hate it, love it, or tolerate it, things have just gotten 20% cooler around here, because it is PONY TIME today on The Sonic Stadium!
This week’s Mash-Up Monday brings you a grand total of four mash-ups, all of which combining music under both Sonic the Hedgehog and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic franchises.
The first two mash-up the actual music from the show. Planet WinterWisp sees a lovely combination of Planet Wisp and Winter Wrap Up, while Escape from the Cutie sports the memorable City Escape theme alongside the delectable lyrics from Cupcakes.
YouTube user, n00neimp0rtant, has uploaded an incredible mash-up of Sonic music to the site that incorporates Sonic music from the Genesis-era all the way to today’s games. This labor of Sonic love, which took him a week and a half to complete, is really cool. Listen to it, knuckleheads.
