  1. Yes, welcome again to my surgery. I am of course, the infamous Doctor Dre(ad), and no, I am not a rap star!!! *Gasp* Sorry, it's time for my sanity pills. Now, let the doctor check up on your Sonic problem. Remember, this can be ANY Sonic question at all, it can be from the cartoons, the comics, the games (although the games are the most popular around here) or even about Sonic and his pal's background or whatever. WHATEVER you want to ask about Sonic, I am here for you. Or rather, forced here for you, bread and water is hardly the wage of a doctor. Well anyway, talk to me and I'll help, OK? Just e-mail me or send a message via the form using the links at the bottom of the page. Cheerio! Christmas Wishes Uh... hi. What did they mean when they said: "See ya in SA3, Sonic"? Does that mean that there's gonna be Sonic Adventure 3 coming out soon, but for the Nintendo GameCube??? PLEASE reply, I'm sooooo desperate!!! By Keelie-Ann A: I assume you're referring to this. Well, that picture was just a little mock up of a Christmas Card by Sonic that I made for you guys. There has been rumours of an SA3 coming out, and even rumours saying that it would be ready by December 2003, but Sonic Team have not officially announced it yet, and so all of that is possibly false, unless ST are making it on the quiet. Who knows? Origin Story Hey Dreadknux. What are you anyway? By Virus 20 A: I'll pass it over to the man behind the green, shall I? Hi Virus, Dread here. I was wondering when it would be until someone wanted to find out about me. OK then, here's my storyline and my past, basically: I am an echidna, like Knuckles, only I am kinda negative-coloured instead of red, and I am known as God of the Echidnas, for the extreme power that I hold. When I was born I was subdued to some radiation to the Hyper Emerald, an Emerald even more powerful than the Master Emerald, which is kept in the Sonic Stadium's Shrine. All echidnas that touch it however are poisoned by radiation (it did not affect me as I was exposed to it when I was born, that is what caused my negative-colour). I was not a god however until one fateful battle beckoned - I was a mortal echidna (with extraordinary powers) until this moment... In a story in the Moogle Cavern (www.mooglecavern.com), setup by Moogle Caverners, an evil god called Cowkey attacked fellow MC'ers and myself. When most of the group was split up, the only way to find hope was to hold the power of the Hyper Emerald. A fellow Mortal Echidna, Tenniru, was somehow not affected by the radiation, and a friend called Alpha Hedgehog was also not affected. I hesitated to use, but I decided that the only way for hope was to withstand the agonising power of the Hyper Emerald. Although the extreme power that was given to Tenniru and Alpha wore off after a limited time, for myself, the effects were irreversible. I had extreme power, and it was from that moment that I realised I was destined to become the God of the Echidnas, to lead and guide the mortal echidnas into prosperity and to protect them with all my might. ... Plus I'm head of The Sonic Stadium, The SSMB, The Sonic Site Awards... ^_^
  2. Hello all and welcome to my little shack of questions, the virtual building of troubled queries, the big sea of... erm... damn, need another word for questions. Forgotten. Never mind. Anyway, I had to take a little leave for a while, as blatantly Dreadknux is promising big things for my clinic, but he hasn't even done a bit, so I left for a while, and NOW it's all done. Just bides his time. Just because it's the Stadium's 1st Birthday doesn't mean to say he can abandon his values. Honestly, that Dreadknux can really get on my nerves... Oh, and from what I hear, many of you have taken a fancy to calling me Dr. Dre. Why? It's insulting enough to even share half of a rappers last name (allegedly), but to be called a rap star is even... wait, I CAN be a rap star! Screw doctoring... oh, erm, I mean yay, doctoring is the best... I can see no gun pointing at my head... ow. The Not-So-Fighting Freak Knuckles Hey Knux, why don't you ever fight with Sonic anymore? In Sonic & Knuckles you only fight Knux if you are Sonic, but if we choose Knux we don't get to fight. I understand the storyline of the game, but it would have been better if you were able to defeat him instead. And my last question is: What is your daughter's name that you had with Julie-Su? By HyperKnuckles222 A: As Knuckles runs off to the distance, Dr. Dread consults you with an answer... Ugh, Knuckles can't even come round for a chat now can he without being asked questions? The Cheek!... *SLAP* Ow. Anyway... Your questions about my good friend, Knuckles the Echdina. About the battling thing in Sonic & Knuckles, I suppose it would have been better that way - to be quite honest, the whole storyline doesn't make much sense if you put the two storylines together like in Sonic Adventure. But maybe it's set out so that the two stories don't collide - either the story goes as Sonic or as Knuckles. Although why Knuckles probably doesn't want to fight Sonic in the Hidden Palace Zone at that time is either because at that moment Sonic is fighting Eggman in Lava Reef Act 2, or fear of Sonic beating him or something? Or maybe Knuckles thought that Sonic was in Sky Sanctuary, so he headed there only to find Metallix, that idea sounds more likely. Oh and for your last question - Knuckles and Julie-Su's daughter is called Lara-Su. Had the family over for Sunday tea the other weekend. Although don't tell Knuckles this, but his daughter isn't half loud. Phantasy Stuck Online I have a question. How can you use a PSO file on a different Dreamcast? Each PSO game has its own unique access code... By Niko A A: Unfortunately Niko, PSO is designed for play on only your own Sega Dreamcast. The access codes are there simply to register you for the online part of PSO, so whatever you do, you must register this on your own DC and not someone else's, otherwise you're in trouble when you play online. Not too certain if you really need the access code to play the offline game, I'm pretty sure you don't, but the whole point is the online bit, so unless you play PSO online, you can register both machines with the same code, provided someone else doesn't have the game either to register with. Otherwise, you can't. So the code is there for online play and for registering the game as yours. Sorry.

By Ginger A: Just HAD to put me on the spot there, didn't you? Well, looking at the two companies' history in video games, I would have to say that Nintendo would produce the better graphics out of the two companies, but only seeings as the NES and SNES were more powerful than Sega's Master System and Mega Drive respectively. But it should be noted Nintendo's attention to detail is apparent in all their games. Sega on the other hand, they were originally an Arcade company, dishing out arcade games by the truckload, even today, Sega's unrivalled in this area. Pushing the boundaries all the time, Sega's graphics are unrivalled naturally, being on an arcade machine and all. But the home consoles that Sega would churn out, no matter how popular, was capable of outstanding graphics, but not at the pace that Sega are advancing at the moment, therefore most games are either arcade style games or ports, and the conversion is slightly poor on the graphics side, compared to the arcade originals. Outrun on the Mega Drive, anyone? Nevertheless, Sega still bring massive attention to detail also, for example Crazy Taxi. I'm not going to do a 'Find out for yourself which is the better two' - because that will be stupid. But, my honest opinion would be that Nintendo, being solely a home console company, pay more attention to the graphics on most of their games on their consoles, whereas comparing to the arcades (which I know is a bit unfair but still...) Sega come out on top. Sega is getting better though, and their in-house development teams that make pure home console titles (eg. Sonic ^_^) are at a match between the graphics side, but the majority of Sega's home console titles aren't as attentive as Nintendo's. Is that it? Well, sod you all then.
  4. Welcome to Ask Dr. Dre(ad), and you are now within my clinic. I am of course, Dr. Dread, the GP with the most...y. If you have a burning question related to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, you can send them to me and I will make it my duty to prescribe you a satisfactory answer. You can also ask me about myself too, if you like. I mean, it's not like I'm able to get out much... staff cutbacks, you see. MP3s Killed The Radio Star Are you ever going to post the MP3s from your radio station? Many people enjoy listening to it but no-one gets to listen offline. By Shadow the Hedgehog A: Well now, 'Shadow', ^_^ I would gladly post up the MP3s featured in the Sega Sonic Radio Station, in fact, Dreadknux was about to do that same thing ages ago, near when the Stadium had that 'New Look' crap about it. But the matter of the situation was web space. Dread simply had no web space to begin with, and therefore putting MP3s up on the site for download would limit the space for the rest of the site. But, with Dreadknux thinking of opening a new web space account, and those good people at Topcities allowing 150 whole Megs of space, today MP3 downloads on the Stadium seem like a viable option now. Although, whether to put up MP3's or RAMs online is yet undecided. Would you rather RAM's or MP3's? E-mail your opinion to Dreadknux! Sonic SV Et Tu? Okay, I've checked the preview of Sonic SV2 on your site... and have the following questions: Is there a way to make the screen smaller so the graphics show up better? Does Diablo have a site I can check for the finished SV2? I have the Tails plushie, can ya send me the Sonic? (Erm) By StrataHyren A: Answers below: Possibly, but if there is a way, Diablo hasn't mentioned it to me yet. Maybe he's implementing it in now. It would be a good idea though wouldn't it? Well as a matter of fact he does! My pal Diablo does have a site all about Sonic SV2, just head on over to this URL: http://www.diablohead.50megs.com/ for his site, Diablo's Garage. As a matter of fact, I do have a Sonic plushie, but you can't have it, this baby's mine! ^_^ Seeds of Change Hello Dr. Dre :), my name is Shane. I was wondering if you could tell me how to plant seeds in the Chao Gradens in Sonic Adventure 2. "Please help!" By Shane A: Ah, a mystery to behold, those darling buds of... Chao Garden. ^_^ Anyway, to plant the seeds found in your Chao Adventure 2 VMU game, simply play Sonic Adventure 2 on your DC, go to Chao World and go to a garden where there are Chao there. Go to the VMU Chao loader thing, and load up any Chao you are keeping, with the seed you won. One of your Chao will plant the seed, but you have to make sure he has won the watering can and the spade from the Chao races, in Chao Stadium. Once your Chao has both the spade and watering can, he will go off with the seed, an exclamation mark will appear from his head and he will get to work. Hope that helps you Shane. Show Me The Fangames! Where are the fan games? Like, a Sonic fan game site? By Tails A: Well, um, there are Fan Games for your delectation in the Sonic Fan Club, right here in the Sonic Stadium. But if it's more you're after, head to my buddy Rlan's site, Sonic Fan Games HQ. There are absolutely tons of Fan Games for your needs. Head to http://ssrg.emulationzone.org/fanmade/ for the site. Security Issues Where are the three Emeralds on Rouge's (5:00:00) stage? Pllleeeeaaassseeee? By lori68111 A: First of all, calm it a bit OK? ^_^ Secondly, I assume you are talking about 'Security Hall' in the Dark Story. This is indeed a tight little level and to help you I'll give you some quick general information about the level. If a clue hints to opening some safes, then you'll need to use the switches located on the very top floor. To get to the top floor quickly, from where you start the level go straight ahead, destroy the GUN car, and head left. There will be a hint box, with a big box behind it. Climb onto the big box and there'll be a spring. Hit that to go high up, then use the pulley to bring you up to top floor. To unlock the red safes (the ones on the floor you begin the level on) go to the very left where you'll find fans that take you up and down. Use this to avoid the lasers and fall down at the end to hit the switch. To unlock the yellow safes (the ones that are a level up from the floor you begin the level on) head for the centre where there'll be lots of lasers. Glide and avoid the lasers to find the switch at the back. You'll be able to climb the wall immediately behind the switch and glide out of the laser traps easily then. To unlock the blue safes (the ones on top floor in the room you begin the level on) go right and avoid the lasers and robots until you get to the switch at the end of the passage. You can only unlock one set of safes at a time. When you unlock the safes you want, head for the room you began the level on by falling down the hole you entered the top floor from. Go to the relevant floor in the start room (blue is the top, yellow is the middle, and red is at the bottom), find some closed safes. The middle of the safes will flash the GUN symbol when they are unlocked. Climb onto the middle, where the GUN symbol appears, and dig into the safe. The safe should now open. Remember where the 'Block walls' are - you can find out what Block a wall is by looking at the letter on the relevant floor - one wall is Block A, the other Block B, and the third Block C. Memorise where they are, as some hints say 'Block A' or whatever. If it is problems with hints that you want, don't hesitate to e-mail me again - as a complete guide to Sonic Adventure 2 will appear at the Sonic Stadium very soon, I can only give you general level info for now. In the guide you will find the 9 most popular hints in each Knuckles/Rouge level among most things, so watch out for that. Sonic, He Can Really Move (To My Computer) Dear Dr. Dread, I have been looking for a place to download Sonic SatAM videos (not clips), but sadly any other site that I found so far did not have them available for download even though they said they did. So here is my question [ Where can a find a site that has Sonic SatAM videos still available? ] By Brian A: Well, first searchings founded no working vids for you whatsoever, sorry Brian. This is the ultimate crime in Sonic websites, when they say that they have the videos up for download. I tried many a place for Sonic SatAM video clips, or indeed any cartoon clips to help you. But, all the links on each site appear to be dead. But, thanks to a close pal to Dreadknux - Namely Andrew of Sonic News fame, directed me to a place where indeed, SatAM videos are available. Granted, there isn't much videos, but give Sonique a chance eh? To grab the vids, click on this link to be taken to FUS - Fans United for SatAM. More vids may be added soon, but hey, some proper videos have been found Brian. Hope that helps you. As Apple Pie Can I ask you some questions? Is this site American? How old are you? By Ben A: You may ask me some questions. How polite! No, indeed this site is NOT American, it's pure UK coolness, an STC (not Archie) loving site. Yep, the Stadium is a UK site, and proud of it! There's not many UK Sonic sites around, there are about three more that I know of. I'm as old as the trees and the daisies... nah not really I'm the tender age of 16. Ugh, college after the school holidays...
  5. Welcome to Ask Dr. Dre(ad), you are now in my clinic. I am of course, Dr. Dread. You can call me Dr. Dre if you like, but I'm a doctor, not a rapper. Let's just get that out of the way... Hmmm? Why am I here? Because of you. Yes, you. I know that, sometime in the not too distant future, you will have at least one question about Sonic the Hedgehog. A burning query that you just can't shake off... but then you can't be bothered to find the answer, and this leads to trauma. As well as constant head injuries involving a spade. Believe me, in my experience, it has happened. And it may happen to you too, should you not ask anyone just a teeny tiny little Sonic question. And this could be about anything. Maybe you wish to complete a level but are having difficulty. You might want to know a bit of Sonic's background story, or what's up with the Sonic cartoons such as Sonic Underground. You may even be wanting to find out the best bargains for online Sonic goods You see, it doesn't matter if it's a silly question or not, as long as it has some relevance to Sonic. Of course, if your questions are silly, I may have to prescribe some sort of blunt instrument to hit you around the head with. Nonetheless, you may ask me a question about Sonic. From any sector of the franchise; from video games to simple background knowledge. You'll suffer if you don't confront someone with all this, and that someone is me, Dr. Dread. Now, I hope this conversation between us has introduced my practice, and should you have a question, ask me either via e-mail or via the Universal Form. I look forward to seeing you again in my office. Drafting an Inventory Do you have a Game Gear? By Anonymous A: Yes. Yes I do. Yes, honest to God, this was a genuine question to me in an e-mail I had one day. Lighter Than Light How do I get a Light Chao? By Kouleifohh In Sonic Adventure is it possible to have a Chaos-like Chao? If so tell me how. By tuckercorgimom A: I assume you are both referring to the original Sonic Adventure, rather than the recently released Sonic Adventure 2. Well, to grab yourself a Light Chao, go to your nearest Chao Garden as any player. Get any Chao baby to 'de-evolve' back into an egg, or make it reborn twice. To achieve this, first of all your Chao needs to be an adult, so it can mate. You have to be able to access a free VMU and play Chao Adventure. Play through the Chao game on your VMU until you get a Life Nut. Feed your adult Chao a minimum of three Life Nuts, making your Chao mate after you feed it each one. After a while, it should turn into an egg a couple of times. Hatch the egg again. A few tries later and your Chao should have turned back into a baby. When this is done go out of the centre and give that Chao one of each of the fifteen animals you can pick up throughout the levels (destroying Badniks). After that make sure it evolves and when it does, it will become a Light (Chaos) Chao. Comic Boom What's your favourite: UK or Archie Sonic comics? By Anonymous A: Well, there had to be one of these, didn't there? To be honest, I haven't read the US Archie comics - I live in the UK - although the fact that I prefer Sonic the Comic (UK) isn't based on bias. I simply feel that there was a lot more to STC than Archie. It seemed to me that Archie comics were just (the brilliant) SatAM cartoons on paper, which didn't seem very original to me. And no, this doesn't mean I hate Americans, they're wonderful people. There, has that put your mind at rest? Can you sleep now? If not, take one sleeping pill before you go to bed... I said ONE, dammit! Back Alley Deals I am having a problem getting into the Black Market section on the Sonic Adventure homepage. It keeps telling me something about a wrong "cookie" and to check my Dreamcast clock. What do I do? (P.S. I'm talking about Chao) By Morgan A: Ah, it's this old symptom. This means that work on the Black Market must not have been finished, and sadly won't be finished. Unfortunately, it seems most likely that the Sonic Adventure website has closed down. This may explain the errors that you keep getting, it happens often on my browser too. The only thing I can prescribe is Sonic Adventure 2, as this also features the Black Market, although it is not finished yet on the SA2 webpage. Your best bet Morgan is to spend your cash on Sonic Adventure 2. But in all honesty, it's not as if no-one really wanted it... Classic Conundrum I have heard that in Sonic 1, you can do a spin dash. I thought this must be a cheat or something. But I can't find out how to do it. Can you tell me? By Anonymous A: Well, you heard right. But you're doing it wrong. You need a Sega Saturn and Sonic Jam. Once these have been prescribed, play throughout Sonic 1 on the CD until the game is complete. Select Spin Dash from the menu after that The Ultimate Cheatform Do you know any codes or cheats for Sonic Adventure 2? By kouleifohh A: There are as yet no known cheats for SA2 - kind of like the original SA before it - but there are certainly secrets in there. You can get new skins in the 2-player mode, for example: if you get Rank A's on all of Sonic's levels and missions, you'll be able to play as him in a PSO HuMAR Outfit, and as Amy Rose. If you do the same as Shadow, you can play as Metal Sonic or Shadow in a PSO RaMAR outfit. Tails has a different coloured mech and a Chao, Eggman has a red mech and Big the Cat. Knuckles can unlock Tikal and another PSO outfit and Rouge can transform into Chaos or obtain a slinky new costume. Finally, if you get Rank A's on every level and mission (except for Cannon's Core), you can play in a secret level titled only 'Green Hill Zone'. Yes, it is exactly the same as the Mega Drive game's first Act, only in 3D and with all the sound effects too. I'm only a doctor, but I'll threaten Dreadknux with a lethal injection so he can get a cheat VMU Save file for you all. How does that sound? Just keep your eyes glued to The Sonic Stadium.

Sorry. View full story
  8. Or rather, forced here for you. Bread and water is hardly the wage of a doctor. Well anyway, talk to me and I'll help, OK? Just e-mail me or send a message via the form using the links at the bottom of the page. Cheerio! That Age-Old Question... Who makes better game graphics: Sega or Nintendo? View full story
  9. View full story
