Epic Japan Goodness!Did you know M-Flo has contributed to the video games industry by both providing songs for games, and by advertising for these games? For the first versions of the video game Beatmania IIDX, M-Flo has contributed short versions of the songs “L.O.T. (Love Or Truth)”, “Mirrorball Satellite 2012″, “The Theme from Flo Jack”, “Been so Long”, and “The Rhyme Brokers”. Another music related video game, Dance Dance Revolution, featured the songs “The Theme from Flo Jack”, “Been so Long”, and “The Rhyme Brokers”.
Of course all we care about is this version of the track “Tripod Baby” (from the album Beat Space Nine) which was re-released for the Shadow the Hedgehog video game that came out in November 2005. A commercial for the game, featuring Taku and Verbal, was also aired. Taku and Verbal are big fans of the character Shadow.
As I reported in the SSMB forums some months ago, an event know only as ‘Art Image Night 2005’ was to take place in Japan. Because of the location of the event (Japan) very little was known about it, all information on the event was presented in Japanese, but using the crudest of translation resources (Google translation) ‘Sonic News’ aims to bring you, what it considers to be, a vital piece of SEGA gaming news.
The event has now passed, and ‘Sonic News’ has been able to establish that ‘Art Image Night 2005’ was in fact a live concert to celebrate the 15th anniversary of HMV in Japan, which it would seem has a far greater role in the Japanese music scene than it does in any other territory. Sonic Channel has added to its site new images of the promotional event: where ‘Shadow the Hedgehog’ and the Japanese hip-hop soul group m-flo teamed up for a photo shoot. The photo shoot was to promote the soon-to-be-released Shadow remix of their song ‘TRIPOD BABY’ entitled: ‘TRIPOD BABY (SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG MIX)’. Continue reading Sonic Channel Updates
Japanese pop group ‘m-flo’ are to record a remix of one of their previously recorded songs, in the name of Shadow the Hedgehog, Famitsu’s website has revealed.
For those not particularly versed in J-Pop, m-flo are a hip-hop soul group consisting of a DJ (Taku) and rap artist (‘Verbal’), that are hilariously big in Japan. Their recent album, “Beat Space Nine” was released to acclaim in the land of the rising sun back in August.
The song in question, Famitsu reports, is a dedication to Shadow the Hedgehog, by way of a remix of a track from this album, “TRIPOD BABY”. Incidentally, this track had DJ Taku and Verbal reuiniting with former group member ‘Lisa’ after she left a few years ago. Continue reading m-flo LOVES Shadow the Hedgehog
