  1. Japanese retailers have begun listing the fifth DVD release of Sonic X episodes, with brand new cover art to tease what's inside. As you can see here, Sonic X DVD Volume 5 in Japan features Tails, Amy and King Boom Boo on the cover. The Hi-Spec Edition of Volume 5 will cost ¥5,040 (if you're looking to import this, this doesn't include any shipping charges so bear that in mind), and is scheduled for a release on 21st November 2003. It includes four episodes, as well as bonuses such as Sonic Heroes and Sonic Battle game introductions, 'Sonic English' and more: Episode 18 : "The Great Duel in the Savannah!" Episode 19: "King Boo, the Ghost of the Ancient Castle" Episode 20: "Sortie! Egg Fort II" Episode 21: "Speed Battle! Sonic vs. Sam" You can order it here. Meanwhile, pre-orders are also going live for Sonic X Volume 3 DVD in Japan, via SEGA Direct's online shopping site. This one will release on 25th September and will cost ¥4,800 (excluding tax). See that one here.
  2. Ryan Drummond, Sonic the Hedgehog's video game voice actor since Sonic Adventure, has confirmed that he is not lending his talents to the English dub of Sonic X. On his official website, Drummond explains the reasons for this as a means to end any rumours about his involvement in the new show. It's a real shame, but not unexpected - voice files leaked ahead of the Episode 1 Fox Box premiere that suggested that Drummond was not the man behind Sonic this time around. It's now been fully confirmed that a new actor has taken his place. His full statement, found on his official website, can be found below.
  3. We have some more information on the supposed 'Sneak Peek' of Sonic X that we reported on earlier this week, and it's a very good surprise! Because the special preview on Fox Box airing on August 23 is in fact the entire first episode of the series! A synopsis of the first episode is below, courtesy of Animation Insider: Two other shows will be getting the same treatment on Fox Box; Funky Cops and Shaman King will all get similar Sneak Peeks throughout August. But it's Sonic X we all really care about, isn't it? Sonic X will start airing fully on Fox Box after the Sneak Peek from September 1.
  4. Fox Box has revealed that a special Sneak Peek of the US dub of Sonic X will air later this year, ahead of the Season Premiere of the series. The specific dates were published on the Fox Box website. The Sneak Peek will happen on August 23rd, and the Season Premiere will launch on Fox Box on September 6. Below is some detail from the site: Who's excited!?
  5. If you've already watched the first few episodes of Sonic X in Japan (either on TV or via other methods...), you're probably obsessed with the opening theme of the new anime, just like we are. 'Sonic Drive' is an absolute banger of a song, and now you can choose to pre-order the CD single so you can play it whenever you like! This might sound a bit weird, but CD single releases for TV shows is not an unusual thing in Japan. Most opening and ending themes for shows (particularly anime) are performed and produced by big Japanese pop and rock stars, and Sonic Drive is no exception with the track involving legendary Japanese musician Hironobu Kageyama and singer Hideaki Takatori. 'Sonic Drive' is available to pre-order on CDJapan (English) and Neowing (Japanese), at a price of ¥1,048 (or $9.50 USD for import). It'll release on 28th May 2023 and will feature the following tracks: SONIC DRIVE Just call me SONIC~眩しい風になれ~ SONIC DRIVE(Original Karaoke) Now if you'll excuse us, we're going to pre-order and hum the song in our heads for the next couple of weeks.
  6. The first episode of Sonic X aired in Japan last week, and already some dedicated fans have managed to record a copy of the show and post it on the internet for fans to download and watch for themselves. We won't share the direct link, because we're not entirely sure that we should, but TSSZ News reports that certain online forums have started posting download links to the pilot episode. It's a big file, apparently - some 40-50 MB in size, so be sure to grab yourself a cup of coffee if you plan on downloading it for yourself. Sonic X still hasn't got an air date for the US or UK, at the time of writing this. Hopefully we'll be able to get an English language version of the show soon.
  7. Anyone thinking that the new Sonic X cartoon will have a link to the video games will be disappointed, as Sonic Team head Yuji Naka confirmed that the show will be unrelated to the antics of the blue blur on consoles. "There are no ties to the game [in Sonic X]," Naka said at a press conference hosted by SEGA and TV Tokyo. "I am a fan of the games, and we created this show with the games in mind, but outside of that is a completely new world. "By using an alternative dimension, it gives the writers a chance to do some really interesting things using a 'different Sonic'," the developer added, referring specifically to the use of the 'X' in the show's title. The music of Sonic X was also discussed at the press conference. The opening theme was reportedly done by Hironobu Kageyama and Hideaki Takatori. SEGA also announced that the animation is "very important" to the company, and are looking into requests from North America, Europe and Asia to air the show in those markets. 8. We have a premiere date for Sonic X, the new anime series about the launch in Japan. The first episode will air in Japan on April 3 at 6:00pm. After that, episodes will run every Thursday at the same time. TV Tokyo will be the anime's home in Japan... although there's currently no firm release date from any Western television companies were revealed about any more of a pinpointed western airdate. People visiting Japan this Spring, keep that date in your diaries! Source: TV Tokyo
  9. A promotional flyer for new anime Sonic X has been shared online, with a fresh new look at the characters and action we can expect to see in the show. Take a look! These photos are a bit difficult to make any real details out, but we can see some official artwork of all the characters, as well as some scenes that will be in the anime. It's looking really cool! These images were shared by 'The Shadow Fan' and posted on Sonic HQ, here's what they had to say...
  10. Some new images of the Japanese 'Sonic X' anime have been published, as well as new details from Japanese fansite Sonic Dimension. It seems like there's a lot to take in here, from the series being set in a different world and the inclusion of human characters. Seems there'll be two human characters sadly, Chris who's in the above picture, and Danny. Chris also saves Sonic from drowning in a pool when they first meet, so it sounds like they will become friends in the show. According to Sonic Dimension (Japanese, via online translator), it sounds like Sonic and friends are transported into a new world, opening the anime up to brand new scenarios that may stray from the video games. Characters include Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Eggman, Cream and Cheese and even Big the Cat and Froggy. Lots of mechs will be included in the show as well, such as Tornado 2 and many Eggman menacing robots. Sonic Dimension also talks about the mysterious character that we reported yesterday - seems there's no clue as to who this guy is, but the name of the photo on Sonic Dimension is 'Nazo'. More news on this interesting new show as we get it!
  11. Wow!! The first ever screen of the new Sonic the Hedgehog Japanese anime has just been revealed. And we also have the supposed name and logo of the show - Sonic X. SEGA and the production company behind the new show attended the World Hobby Fair in Osaka, where 'Sonic X' was shown for the first time. As you can see, the only snap we have includes a glimpse of a character that clearly looks similar to Sonic, but... what's the deal here? Is this Super Sonic? Another special transformation? A new character entirely? The mind boggles! We won't have long to find out, as according to Game Watch (which took the photos) Sonic X is aiming for a launch on Japanese TVs this Spring. We'll bring you more on this exciting new show as it happens. The show also had a booth for Sonic Advance 2, so attendees could play that as well. Here's a photo of that area as well, just to cover all the bases.
  12. Yep, finally some info on the new Sonic anime series! We have a teaser poster of the new series, which will have over 26 episodes (rumored to be 52 episodes) each lasting 30 minutes. Characters will include so far, Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, Rouge, Shadow, Eggman Cream and Cheese, and will mostly take over after Sonic Adventure. It's also rumored that it'll be dubbed and aired on Fox Kids, Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon in September in America. More news as I get it. Thanks to Shayne Thames for the extra information and heads up! Poster via Sonic HQ
  13. Earlier today, Sega held an annual shareholder meeting, in which Tetsua Kayama, Sega Corp's COO, shed some light on some exciting new bits of information and announcements. Besides other announcements, Kayama announced that a brand new Sonic game was in development and would be released next year! Kayama also stated that the new Sonic game would have a new title. That likely means it won't be part of the Adventure series. No platform was mentioned as of yet. In other exciting news, Sega announced there's a new Sonic anime series in development also! And not a one-shot OVA movie either! Two big news reports to get us excited indeed, SSNG will keep you updated. Source: Gaming Age "Article" and Gamers.com

    Sonic the Movie (OVA)

Dr Eggman captures the President of Planet Freedom's Land of the Sky and his daughter Sara (these two characters are totally new only shown in the anime, minus some small cameos in the Archie comics), in order to make Sonic and Tails go to his home world, Robotropolis. Sonic and Tails get into trouble as Knuckles saves them from the huge Robo Robotnik, which has supposedly taken over the 'Land of Darkness' and overthrown Eggman. It is the closest Sonic Animation towards the actual video game series made, despite the vast differences - the fact that Yuji Naka and Sonic Team had a hand to lend helped matters too. Before the American/British release, the Japanese version was separated into two videos, called "Journey to Eggmanland" and "Sonic Vs Metal Sonic".
  17. Well, at least Sonic's not dead even if the Dreamcast is. According to a top Sega Japan representative, the company is exploring ways to celebrate the blue blur's 10th Anniversary via the medium of CG animation. Could we get a new Sonic the Movie in 2001? The comments come from Satoshi Kayama, who has quite a bit of sway in the operations of Sega. When asked about the publisher's strategy for Sonic in this strange new, third-party world, Kayama said: Don't bank on a new home console any time soon though. Kayama was asked about this and reportedly responded 'with a strong 'no', and a laugh'. No Dreamcast 2 for us, then. Source: IGNDC

    One Piece Topic

This is a thread dedicated to the brainchild of famous mangaka Eichiro Oda. I know we have an anime and manga thread, but that seems too general for such a high profile anime you know? So without further ado... In a semi-colonial era, the world is going through a great turmoil as the seas are littered with pirates and other such riff-raff turning the world upside down. They are all in search of the prize of the former King of the Pirates, the legendary treasure known as the One Piece. It is said; whomever can find the One Piece would become the newest Pirate King with the seas as his throne for all time. But the journey to find the One Piece is a long and hard one, with many dangers at every step waiting to send any pirate to an early grave, such as ocean monsters the size of mountains, hazardous weather patterns that defy all common sense, and the every present shadow of the World Government, and their dogs, the Naval Marines. It's the journey of a lifetime; and for some, the final one. Thus we join the story of a young boy named, Monkey D. Luffy. At a young age, he was cursed with the powers of rubber, and is able to stretch his body to unbelievable lengths, at the cost of his ability to swim. Ever eager for adventure and fun, Luffy sets out to become the next King of the Pirates, along the way he is joined by his crew of misfits, such as the chef Sanji with his heart set on the ladies and his feet set on pounding you to the ground, or the monster racoon-dog reindeer Tony Tony Chopper, a doctor with an A for aid and assault. Join them on their journey as they travel a very fantastical world and meet strange friends and dangerous enemies, all on the journey to become, KING OF THE PIRATES! (I don't know why I go this far sometimes.) So yeah, hard to believe this manga has been running for almost 20 years huh? The anime is just celebrating it's 15th anniversary as well. With almost 20 years of material, and 11 movies, there's bound to be fun times had for a while. So come aboard and watch. Here is the preview of the next episode: Big rule in this thread: ALL MANGA SPOILERS MUST BE IN SPOILER TAGS! IF THE ANIME HASN'T GOTTEN TO THAT INFORMATION, IT MUST BE PUT IN SPOILERS! Oh and check out the anime on Crunchyroll: They update at 10 every week.
  19. Fullmetal Alchemist was a manga created by Hiromu Arakawa, that was adapted as an anime in 2003...and in 2009. This also included a movie made for both anime. Also a factor for both series was it's English dub by Funimation, and animation done by Studio Bones. They've produced a lot of great titles such as Darker than Black, Soul Eater, Wolf's Rain and even Stan Lee's Heroman. The story followed two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, who broke the laws of alchemy to attempt to brick their mother back to life. They created something, but it sure as hell wasn't what they wanted. They had quite the costly failure: Ed lost a leg, while Al lost his whole body! Ed sacrificed an arm to bind Al's soul to a suit of armour, so he at least still had his brother. Determined to return their bodies back to normal, the two seek out the most powerful and mysterious artifact in all of alchemy: the Philosopher's Stone. "Wait. It was animated twice? Why?" Well, the original in 2003 had made a few changes to the manga's original story, before completely becoming it's own thing around halfway into its run. It overtook the manga, so Arakawa allowed Bones to drive the story on a different road. It's destination came about in the film Conqueror of Shamballa in two years time. When Arakawa was close to finishing the original manga in 2009, Brotherhood came on the scene to strictly follow its story. It also got its own movie...two years later... that took place in-between the story, rather than following up the ending. I'm sure most of you guys have already seen either, if not both series. However, to someone that hasn't seen them, are they worth recommending? ABSOLUTELY. With a seriously solid storyline, a great cast of characters, incredible action and wealth of comedy, I can't think of any reason not to. Both the 2003 series and Brotherhood are deserving of every bit of praise they get in my book. I saw the latter first, as it was the original story to be told. Going back to the 2003 series just makes the entire ride more enjoyable, as you can see what extra bells and whistles were added to give it its own identity. As for those who already have seen this show... you guys can take a sec to reflect on either series if you want. It's meant to be a "Fullmetal Alchemist in general" kind of topic, after all. I'll do just that with the 2003 series before I leave you to it. Actually, this was my first introduction to the series, both directly and indirectly. (I first heard the 1st opening "Melissa" in the fangame Final Fantasy Sonic X Episode 5. When I literally had no clue what anime even was. Crazy.) I didn't really think I was ready to handle it, considering I got it mixed up with Full Metal Panic and was told it was an adult anime. Panic is still on my extensive backlog, but I saw the first 10 episodes dubbed on Funimation's Youtube channel. I distinctly remember not being able to see it for a good two months, and I eventually forgot where I was. With this, and the fact that so many of my friends recommended I watch Brotherhood first, I decided to do just that. However, just last year I just so happened to be surfing the Anime section on Netflix, and I saw this series show up. And for a full month, I was marathoning the ever living crud out of it, dubbed and subbed. I did the same thing for the movie, and let me just say that it was a month well spent! As I said, it was great to see where Arakawa and Bones took the anime, and I definitely got a kick out of its more somber feeling. But that's enough about me. You all have a good, strong pair of arms and hands. Sit down and use them. seriously, how did it take me a good ten hours to write something so short
  20. Yes, you read that right. Pretty Cure. What is Pretty Cure, you may ask? For those who don't know, it's a magical girl anime produced by Toei Animation. You may know them for their work on One Piece, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh and heck even the cutscenes for Sonic CD. Yes, that was them. They've also made a quite interesting series called Pretty Cure (abbreviated as PreCure by some). Think of it if Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z had a baby. You've got Pretty Cure. Sure, the series has changed over the years and has focused more on the importance of friendship and teamwork. But since it is a series targeted towards kids, you can see why that is. The series recently hit it's 10th anniversary and with that came a new animation effort as well as a twist on the series' usual plot that's sure to spice things up a bit! I personally think it's a great time for new viewers to come in since the new season just started a few weeks ago. "But Swift! I haven't seen other seasons! How will the plot make sense?" Well fear not friend, this series is one to always welcome new viewers as each season has it's own continuity and set of original characters and villains. There's no need to watch older seasons to understand the plot. What's going on this season? Queen Mirage, the evil queen of the Phantom Empire absolutely despises love and happiness and wants to transform the world into a cruel, miserable place. It's up to our new heroes, Cure Lovely and Cure Princess to put a stop to her plans, protecting world peace (and happiness)! So why should you watch this series? I think it's a great lighthearted series suited for anyone looking for a fun show to watch. It has a very tongue-in cheek sense of humor and is most definitely a show to make you smile on even the worst of days! Feel free to talk about everything Pretty Cure in this thread. This isn't necessarily for the latest season, so if you want to talk about past seasons, the movies, or just your thoughts, go ahead!
  21. I tried a showcase topic once before, but after a severe case of artist block and other unavoidable problems, it was left abandoned. I'm back in the drawing game, and wanted to try something different for a showcase thread, so assuming it's okay to do so, I'm starting a new one. This new version also comes with a comic/story featuring me and two of my other mascot characters as we search a tower constructed be my own imagination. Pictures I draw either get featured in the background or become part of this comic/story. I'll let the other me explain some more. But first... 22. Considering the recent release of the sequel and my almost undying love for the series, it's about time I finally make a topic about this and introduce you to a unassuming golden nugget. Little Witch Academia was a short created by Trigger, the same studio you may recognize as the minds behind Kill la Kill, Inferno Cop and Ninja Slayer. The series and both films that comprise it were created and directed by Yoh Yoshinari, a former Gainax animator known for his exuberant, elastic style that's quite evident in his work: he was an animator and character designer for Gainax anime such as Gurren Lagann along with Panty & Stocking. Both of the films center around a teenage girl by the name of Akko Kagari, who enrolls Luna Nova Academy, a school for young witches. She later meets her two (somewhat) reluctant best friends, Lotte Yanson and Sucy Manabaran. Misadventures that later result in near death experiences ensue. Let's dig in in the two films. Little Witch Academia (2013) Note: half of these things don't appear in the actual film. Especially that guy with flowing hair or the hot air balloon. Disappointed? I feel you. This received a fair amount of hype surrounding its release in April 2013, and I remember every bit of it. To give some background, this was a short film funded by the Young Animator's Training Project, and later aired at Anime Mirai 2013 before being released in Japanese theaters and online shortly after. I'll just give a synopsis from MyAnimeList so you'll have a view of the short's events: At least somewhere in this thread, you're at least somewhat getting Harry Potter vibes. Despite the universe taking place in a boarding school filled with wizards, please don't compare it with HP. Both are quite different in terms of stories and characters, so drop that preconception before you get to watching this film or its sequel. Despite it's half-hour long runtime, Little Witch Academia is an innocent, uplifting and just a magical breeze throughout. Although its story isn't its strong suit and the characters come off as underdeveloped due to how short it is, there's still plenty of fun to be had here. The animation, backgrounds and general art design is absolutely sumptuous, especially when you put into account that it was done by relatively young animators who were putting their work into this. It doesn't even necessarily feel like an anime to me, the whole time it felt like I was watching a Disney film. Almost everybody's movements is silky smooth, nor does it ever seem like it was majorly budget constrained. Every penny was put to optimal use here for the animation. The color palette is a joy to look at as well, everything pops out at you without looking garish. And that's only just some of what it has to offer. That, and I forgot to mention the music. Michiru Oshima's score is seriously gorgeous, especially for a relatively low-key project such as this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN1HjISTTBw So yeah, putting it short, if you're bored or want to cheer yourself up, LWA is definitely something worth watching that will definitely lift your spirits afterward. It's something that awakens the child inside of me like few things can, despite me acknowledging its flaws. It's innocent, adorable, exciting and above all inspiring fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=662DVAVks3g Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade (2015) As some of you probably already know, LWA had a sequel in development after the runaway success of the original short. After many teases intensifying throughout this year, The Enchanted Parade was finally aired at Anime Expo 2015 a couple days ago. I haven't watched it for myself despite having the means to watch it, but I will definitely set aside time for myself to do so and give my thoughts later on. This time around, The Enchanted Parade is an hour long, and has an ostensibly different plot from Akko and co.'s previous escapade: The Manga There's a nifty one-shot manga that serves as a prequel to the events of the first LWA. You can read it here, it's honestly pretty good. So yeah, that's pretty much it from me. Hopefully this topic somewhat convinced you to check out the series if you haven't already, and if it did, then more power to you! Please go check it out for yourself, I promise that you won't regret it. The Enchanted Parade is available on HorribleSubs, so go check it our there. Both movies have English subtitles, even if I wonder how good a dub would be. For people who are already LWA fans, discuss anything pertaining to the series here!

    REDLINE

Redline____________________________________________________________ You know when people tell you there are certain films you must watch before you die? I'm talking about stuff like, Avatar, Titanic, Pearl Harbour, Saving private Ryan, Frozen etc. Those movies that have caused such a buzz in the viewers hearts that you've no doubt been told "how good" these movies are, and that you should just give it a chance and witness it yourself to see what the big commotion is all about? The following movie is exactly one of those cases, I'm not even just fanwanking either, this movie is simply THAT good that I honestly implore you to watch it when you've got the chance, because this movie is a huge mile stone in animation history, and no i'm not kidding, hear me out and I'll tell you exactly why, but right now let me tell you premise of the movie for a bit. Redline is a movie about racing in the future, it's an illegal and dangerous sport where there is only one rule, win no matter the circumstances. This means supping your vehicle up with weaponry is totally fine and even killing the competition is all good in this race, Redline is the final race in the entire sport where the galaxies best racers go head to head in one final race to be crowned fastest in the galaxy, but to qualify for Redline you must beat various other qualifying matches on lesser tracks, this is where the movie begins in the semi-final race of Yellowline. This is when the movie introduces Sweet JP, the movies protagonist and Sonoshee Mclaren, the female love interest of the protagonist, fast forward through the race and Sweet JP and Sonoshee are neck and neck on the final stretch to the goal, whilst elsewhere Frisbee, JP's mechanic is watching the race at gunpoint in the Mafia's headquarters holding a detonator in his hand, a few feet before the goal, Frisbee blows a bomb rigged on JP's car and makes him lose as Sonoshee takes the win for Yellowline. After the race JP is lying in a hospital bed watching the results of Yellowline on the TV before he's visited by his mechanic Frisbee who has a suitcase full of cash, after an awkward silence they both converse and you find out that JP and Frisbee had "fixed" the race for the Mafia to win big after the bets for JP sky rocketed when he went from 8th place to 1st in the final quarter stretch, Frisbee leaves JP's cut of the cash with him saying it'll free him from his bail bond and keep him in bandages for the rest of his life. JP throws the money back at Frisbee and says he doesn't need it, he'd rather just rot in prison, before Frisbee can say anything else, paparazzi burst through the door and interview JP from his hospital bed, demanding an answer if he'll be racing at Redline, confused JP and Frisbee switch the TV on to find out 2 qualifying racer's for REDLINE had dropped out of the race, leaving it up to the public to vote for their favourite racer's to compete instead, the reason the position opened for JP is because REDLINE's race would be taking place on "Roboworld" A world that had signed a peace treaty for the galaxy, but soon to JP and Frisbee's surprise REDLINE is not allowed to take place on Roboworld, or they'd risk being destroyed for trespassing on their world, Frisbee tells the Media it's not going to happen because Roboworld won't allow REDLINE to ever take place there, before he is silenced when a reporter says it's taking place there anyway without Roboworld's consent, basically confirming it's suicide to race there, JP agree's to take the place and tell's Frisbee to get his car running again for the final race. The story mainly focuses on a small cast of characters, mainly JP and Frisbee's friendship and hardship, and JP's love interest for Sonoshee, the story isn't incredibly deep or unique but for what it is, it does it well. The movie from beginning to end is a pure adrenaline rush, with a rocking soundtrack, lovable characters and a seriously dark undertone, it does have it's fair share of humour to boot but it's not really the strong point of WHY you should watch it. http://youtu.be/-MPe7E1YrY4?t=2m35s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4y8ph3cH54 The first 15 minutes of the movie is the first race but jesus fucking christ, just LOOK at this animation and art direction, it's all hand drawn, every last detail. 100,000 drawings and 7 years in production, you heard me 7 YEARS in Production everything was made and crafted as a middle finger to the current generation of CGI with anime and cartoons, it was a movie meant to be pushed to the absolute limit, and to think that the demo reel that was pitched for this movie, took 4 years to make on it's own, so in hindsight this movie has been in production for a whopping 11 years, yeah this movie is as old as Sonic Adventure itself, but true production on the movie didn't start till 2003, and completed in 2009 with a cinema release. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doEwWzMz99A Redline's art direction is fluid and full of energy designed to pump you full of adrenaline and keep you on the edge of your seat, accompanied with it's rocking soundtrack (That was confirmed to have been composed alongside production almost hand in hand) The sound design was also made down to the very last detail, to the sounds of pistons and rev belts right down to footsteps and JP's leather squeaking with his movements, the attention to detail is honestly too much to take in on your first couple of watches and I'm honestly not doing this movie justice by waffling on, it honestly has to be seen to believe. This movie was created to break the boundaries and it does just that in every way imaginable, it's a must watch if you love fast paced anime/animation with polish and budget.

    Megaman Network Transmission

Ok I wanted to start a topic about this game. I would post pics but I'm on my cell phone. So I want to see what you guys think of this game. Do you think its a lost gem from the GameCube or a failure. This game was my second GameCube game after melee. And the only megaman game I own. I got the game because I liked the Megaman NT Warrior anime. Although I have never been able to beat it. I would say I got to halfway mark before I couldn't beat the boss. In general I liked the gme and the platforming/combat system. And I still get kicks from. It until. I can't beat the boss I cant remeber its name now but i think it was at the electric plant. So what do you guys think of this game if you have played it
  25. Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt is a Japanese anime series produced by Gainax, who also produced series' such as Gurren Lagann and FLCL, and is directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi. An English dub of the series was also produced and released by Funimation. The show revolves around the exploits of the Anarchy sisters, Panty and Stocking, angels who were kicked out of Heaven due to their bad behavior. They are sent to Daten City, a place located on the border between Heaven and Hell, which is attacked by evil spirits referred to as "Ghosts". Under the watchful eye of the reverend Garterbelt, the two are tasked with collecting enough Heaven Coins to buy their way back into Heaven by destroying Ghosts using their powers, including the ability to transform their lingere into weapons. However, Panty and Stocking are constantly sidetracked by their respective interests in men and sugar. Well, there goes the summing up of the series, so it's time for my personal opinions on the show, which I literally just finished about an hour before writing this (I'm a dub guy, just in case you were wondering). It's complete insanity, and so hilariously funny. The humor is largely immature, usually resorting to toilet humor, but that doesn't harm it. It's an escape. I feel like I don't need to think whenever I watch it, I just take it in and laugh my ass off in the process. The characters on offer are enough to keep me invested, and the constant parody and references to other pieces of media, such as Phoenix Wright, and Ghostbusters, is always good. The animation style really mixes up many different things, from the traditional anime styling you'd expect that appears in the transformation scenes, to the things more typical in western animation, which appear much more often. The South Park parody in 'If Angels Wore Swimsuits' is so hilarious, I laughed so hard at that. Now, the fanservice...personally, I don't mind it, mostly because I expected it. It's played largely for laughs, I mean, these girls are 'angels', and the only way to activate their powers is to do a striptease and pole dance. It's ridiculous, and something that, clearly, if you take to serious, you won't enjoy. I'd definitely recommend this series to anyone and everyone, just be clear though, it definitely isn't for everyone. that fact has been made clear to me. Hopefully a second season will materialize some day, it'd be a crying shame if it didn't.
